Booked this holiday on the strength of promised fishing for residents only and a peg outside the lodge. Disappointed to see so much weed which made fishing a pointless exercise and other people on our lake were equally disappointed. Fully appreciate that the owner has tried to solve the problem but from what we could gather its only getting worse ! Not a place to go for fishing in my opinion.

Fishing aside the lodges and setting are fabulous and all you could wish for . Very relaxing and the staff are helpful. Richmond is well worth a visit via Easby and the old rrailway track makes it a flat walk that is easy to do.
The fit and finish of the lodges are top notch and Jasper has great views and privacy.

Stayed in lovely Finlay lodge for 3 nights with family. We had great expectations for this short break with nephew and family after recommendation from nephew( he has been before) and reading previous reviews about the lodges. Brompton Lakes did not disappoint us.
If you want a little bit of luxury in peaceful surroundings then this is the place for you.
The lodge was gorgeous with all fittings and furnishings in immaculate condition we felt truly cossetted. The setting of the lodges is breathtaking beautiful as well as relaxing . All, of the lodges except 2 are lakeside and they still have a view of the lakes.
The grounds are planted with various mature trees and shrubs maintained to a high standard. There are numerous walks that can be taken from the grounds we particularly
enjoyed the walk to Eastby Abbey.
Would definitely recommend to others and hope to visit again sometime soon.
