We were visiting family over Christmas in Hebden Bridge and - to avoid being too crowded - we just wanted something a little cheaper than a hotel and with better facilities.
We could not have chosen better!
We knew of Heptonstall because it has been used in so many TV programmes and films but we’d never been inside any of the quaint cottages which make the place so amazing.
This place is incredible. It’s a listed building but it has all the modern amenities you could wish for. And it’s right next to one of the most famous Wesleyan chapels in the UK.
There is a small Post Office / Shop in the village and a couple of nice pubs. For bigger shopping you can pop down the hill to Hebden or even take a bus. The scenery is stunning and there are masses of places to walk for all styles and abilities.
The cottage is in the middle of the village and the people are all very friendly and (not surprisingly) used to visitors.
