    Beautifully converted from the original village primary school 18 years ago the house has recently undergone a further renovation to an exceptionally high standard providing wonderful relaxing home from home holiday location.

    On the edge of the village but only a short walk to the square, the Old School is tranquil yet close to all the village amenities. It is set in 2 acres of gardens and it enjoys uninterupted views of Conic Hill and the Luss Hills beyond. The garden itself has hidden walkways, a babbling brook and large pond with feature waterfall.

    There is also a hot tub and holistic and beauty therapy treatments available on site to ensure a true mind and body holiday or relaxation after a day out at one of the numerous local golf courses, water sports or mountain activities. Or...

    Railway: Balloch: 10.0 km
    By car 20 km north of Glasgow.
    From M8, take junction 16 signposted A82, Aberfoyle and follow signs to Milngavie. Continue through Milngavie and Strathblane towards Abefoyle. Continue past the first junction for Killearn to roundabout and take the first left, signposted Drymen. At T-junction turn left and travel through Croftamie. Drymen is 3 miles ahead.

    A car is not essential for a stay in Drymen but it will open up access to the National Park and your ability to explore further afield

We stayed at the house in order to travel a little around the area and to go to the Commonwealth Games. The location was ideal for getting to Glasgow and for day trips to various points of interest, such as Luss, Balloch, Stirling etc. The owner was very good at keeping in touch and answered all of our queries before... more

We stayed at the Old School for a week to celebrate both my parents 60th birthdays. The house was lovely, very spacious, comfortable and homely. Our host Esther was great and ensured we had everything we needed. We took advantage of the in house spa treatments and would highly recommend getting a massage! A lovely location for a peaceful getaway, large rooms and plenty of bathrooms. Huge garden and right at the bottom of the West Highland way for walks. Previous visitors had apparently damaged the property which might have been the reason why the host was slightly tetchy and stayed close to the property (in small static at side of garden) throughout... more
