Hengoed Farm and Medieval Hall is set in idyllic countryside close to the historic medieval market town of Ruthin. Located overlooking the Vale of Clwyd with panoramic views of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the site has been continuously occupied since at least the early 14th Century. Attached to the Medieval Hall House is an 18th/19th Century cart (or Coach) House/Granary. This has been converted into a limewashed traditional stone cottage using traditional materials where possible, with original oak and slate features as well as a wood-burning stove. It has been graded 5* by Visitwales ( Welsh Tourist authority), is the only rent...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago for a stay in April 2015

We booked this property as it advertised having a secure, lawned garden suitable for dogs and we weren't disappointed. A high quality property which was really comfortable, spotlessly clean and worthy of its five star rating. Helen and Tony made us feel very welcome and we would not hesitate to recommend to other travellers, with or without dogs. more

Management response:

Really grateful for this positive review. we try to keep the cottage spotless, and update and improve facilities on a regular basis, but without compromising the homely character. And dogs love it - here is the proof! more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

The location is great, feels very rural with stunning views but is extremely close to Ruthin town centre and its conveniences. The cottage was fabulous, beautifully furnished and we found it very warm and cosy in December. Helen & Tony were extremely helpful and welcoming, and we had a wonderful holiday. Great walks nearby, and everything you could need in... more

We would have loved to have been able to stay a little longer. We were in the area for a family wedding and managed to squeeze in a visit to Conwy for the... more
