We were greeted by a log fire and fresh flowers and the owners giving us all the instructions on the cottage and where to go in the area. The cottage was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was also very well equipped. Terrific area to explore and good pub in the village. Ideal for ramblers, walkers and anyone wanting peace and quiet. Nice to see that the cottage was dog friendly without compromising the standard. more

Stayed here for a week with my husband, our dog and my Dad and Step Mum. We specifically wanted accommodation in this location because we were planning to see low flying jets in the 'Mach loop' (which we accomplished). We loved the situation of the cottage, it's about 3 miles off the main road and up a slate track at the foot of a forest, very picturesque and isolated. The cottage is basic with regard to furnishings and decor although the kitchen is very well equipped. Bed linen & towels are provided and were of good quality. There is no mobile phone signal, no internet connection and the Satellite TV reception went off while we were there (the owner is aware and is fixing it). We didn't get a welcome greeting so weren't sure how to use the heating system or what to do in an emergency but we quickly worked it all out (again the owner is fixing this so there will be a welcome booklet in the future if she can't be there to greet). If you want to stop the world and get off...
