Once a year our family tries to get all 18 members together for a week-long summer vacation somewhere west of the Rockies. Now that my dad is in his 80s, we avoid the camping type adventures of the past and look more for comfort, space and proximity to lots of activities. This year we had 15 of us with the youngest being 8, so we had quite a range of ages to try to satisfy. This house and its location was nearly perfect for our needs. To save time I am going to simply bullet the many pros and just a few cons of our stay.
Pros: Roomy house with fantastic, huge, master suite for dad, huge wrap-around porch perfect for keeping dogs mostly outside but fully contained and under cover, well-appointed kitchen and entertainment systems, high-speed internet (as promised), extra fridge and freezer in basement, ample gravel parking, wonderful outdoor fire pit and horseshoe pit, 8200 ft elevation kept summer temps perfect, right in the middle of many national and local parks, barbeque on the... more
