Ellie is a lovely person, has true Aloha spirit, and makes sure you are taken care of. The Koloa house is simple decor and has a relaxed feel to it. If you want fancy or upscale, then this is not the place for you. The house is on a very quiet dead end lane above the touristed Poipu area, and is in a working class neighborhood. Close buy is the shopping center where you can pick up a hula dog, see free hula shows on tuesdays and thursdays, and general touristy shopping. There are island birds and roosters that wake you up every morning. I started my day early generally because of this. The lychee tree in the back may drop lychee's on the roof with a thud. It's was a great place to stay that fit my smaller budget. I would stay again. Be informed that Ellie asks for cash or a check for payment. no credit card payment. (Carrying a big pile of cash?!!) Maybe a paypal feature will come on her web site soon! Good place to stay. Aloha. more
