This old historical inn is located 10 minutes walking distance from downtown Asheville. And you will be happy to not drive and park in the crowded downtown area. The rooms are pretty huge, clean, and nicely furnished. However, there is no AC. It does cool down a lot after sun down even when the day time temperature is 81 F. However, it did freak us out for a while and we were not sure whether two small fans will be enough for a largest room in the property. There is almost no wifi connection in the second floor.
There are three cats and one dog. So if you are allergic to any of them then avoid staying here. The cats are almost everywhere especially they like to stay in the kitchen.
The innkeeper Fred is nice and quite laid back. He did not even ask for any Id :P from us. He likes to talk and is kind enough to give you his feedback about the restaurants and breweries.
They provide good coffee, muffins, and fruit salads, drinks, water etc.
