This is a great example of Renter Beware! We were sadly disappointed by Unit 109 in White Sands Village in Kailua-Kona.
There were no reviews and very limited photos of this property and clearly there were many reasons why.
Apparently this unit was new to the vacation rental market as of October 2013. Logic says to me BEFORE you put a unit on the rental market you clean it top to bottom including blinds and ducts, make sure appliances and lanai furniture are not rusted, the drapes are on the rods properly and you can actually slide them open and closed, and the smoke detectors are in working order. Sadly, these owners did not.
Aside from the safety factor of non-operational smoke detectors, there was so much built up dust and dirt in the vents you felt like you were breathing in dirty air.
