This was the first cottage we rented on our two week trip around Iceland in November 2013, and we could not have been luckier in finding such an incredible location and lovely bungalow. Although the cabin is exposed on the hillside, it is air tight and weather/windproof, and the views of the mountains and sea inlet are breathtaking. Being in Iceland in late fall is always tricky with the weather, but we were warm and cozy while the winds howled outside.
The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals, and we even enjoyed an evening movie on the DVD, which was welcome during the long hours of darkness this time of year. The deck on the front of the cabin provides a great place to sit and soak up the views, and I can imagine we would spend long hours there in summer.
A special touch was a note from the owner upon our arrival who had come earlier in the day to turn on the outside hot tub so it would be steamy warm when we got there. We soaked in the tub both nights...
