    Holiday Rental House –
    3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 5
The Master Brewer's House dates back to about 1700, but was extended in the early 1900s by the owner whose brasserie was originally in the house next door. He installed large windows, raised the roof and added a balcony to the front, so that the house now looks more like a Parisian house with its tall windows and high ceilings.

The house is a much-loved home and the decorations, furnishings and fittings reflect that.

You can just relax in the sunny garden in a deckchair and watch the birds, or to enjoy the many cultural, sporting and gastronomic delights of Montreuil and the surrounding countryside.

The house works best for 1 or 2 couples, or a couple and 2 singles, or up to 4 singles. This is because while the main rooms are large and spacious, the kitchen in particular, the b...

Montreuil sur Mer is within an hour's drive or train ride of Calais ferries, the Eurotunnel and the Eurostar station at Calais Frethun, where there are car hire offices. It's a perfect long weekend destination.

The A16 motorway is 15 minutes drive away with good connections to Paris, Belgium and Holland as well as Calais and Boulogne.

The house is within 5 minutes walk of Montreuil sur Mer station, so it is possible to get here without a car. There are plenty of attractions within walking distance and lots of possibilities for train, bus and bike trips.

There is a good train service from the Gare du Nord, which means that Montreuil is a great weekend destination for people living in Paris, too. Le Touquet near Montreuil is in fact the closest beach to Paris, which is why...

I would have no hesitation booking this place again. Although many reviews describe the quirks and eccentricities, none of these are too onerous or insurmountable and we had no problems at all. The house is well appointed for a 10 to 15 minute walk uphill into the Centre Ville. When I say uphill I mean uphill so unless you want... more

Management response:

Yes, the 300 year old house certainly has its eccentricities but I'm really pleased it behaved itself for you. You're quite right about the climb up into town; it's a good way to work up an appetite for the cafes, bars and restaurants up there. Many thanks for your review. more

No complaints, We felt at home as soon as we walked in, the owners were there which was great as we got a tour of the house before they left and who we could contact within the same road should we hit a problem notwithstanding contacting the owner. Quite location, road is not made of cobbles so no being woken... more

Management response:

Thanks so much for your review and glad it all worked out so well for your family holiday! Thanks for looking after the house while you were here. more

Stayed here for a week in June 2014. A great place to "chill out". Easy 10 minute walk into the town with good restaurants (We found Le Patio and Le Darnetal excellent for evening meals and Le Pot du Clape superb for lunch). The bed (very important!) was really good with a top class goose down duvet - slept like... more

Management response:

Many thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you slept so well! Many thanks, too, for looking after the house and garden. All best wishes. more
