If you want to really get away from it all then this gite is ideal. Very peaceful and relaxing. As you are high above the valley in a small hamlet of 6 houses, you really feel in the middle of nowhere but you are still close to shops at the bottom of the hill (5 minutes’ drive) and a reasonable sized Carrefour near the motorway (10 minutes). Chabreloche is a traditional French village - butchers, bakery (fantastic cakes), spar sized supermarket, hairdressers etc.
Nigel and Michelle great hosts with two adorable dogs. You have full use of their garden, and fresh eggs from the hens!
So what is there to do in the middle of nowhere? Well there are several lakes within 20 minutes’ drive where you can swim and sunbathe, the motorway is conveniently accessible, with Clermont Ferrand, Vulcania and Puy de Dome about 45 minutes away.

Our family of four stayed at this beautiful house in August and had an amazing time. The welcome we received after the long drive was all worth it. The house was warm inviting and cozy with a selection of local cheeses and wine to tuck into. There was lots to do in the area to keep the children occupied and Nigel and Michelle were always available to advise of lovely places to visit or where to enjoy a meal. The bakery in the village serves fresh croissants each day and delicious French bread. We certainly hope to return soon. more
