We've been regular visitors to Crete for many years: it’s a breathtaking island.
But Villa Kallisto is special even by Cretan standards.
The seaside town of Almyrida, just a few minutes' drive away, is an absolute pearl, with a long sheltered beach and friendly waterfront tavernas serving fresh seafood. The best of them, Psaros, will deliver to the villa itself.
The villa is secluded but very accessible - no tracks, slopes or steps to negotiate. Everything inside is pristine and contemporary. Our six-year-old daughter was utterly intrigued by the automated mosquito-nets and scary shower-heads.
Kallisto’s completely geometric style contrasts perfectly with the gentle olive groves surrounding it. The large picture windows give enchanting views over the surrounding countryside and, further away, the hills and mountains.
