Drop off your rental car, then either fly or take the water taxi to Ambergris. When we drove to San Ignacio, we rented from Budget at the international airport. We returned the car to their office right in Belize City, and they took us to the municipal airport for our ... more

... most of your questions, but I do know that most rental cars can't be taken across the border into Guatamala. I believe you can if you rent from Crystal. But, you won't have any insurance. I'd leave the car in San Ignacio and take shuttles to Tikal ... more
