... traffic noise is not exceptional, but the heavy equipment, drilling, beeping, paving, etc. is louder than normal around the Dollar Hill II condos. Look carefully at whatever location you are considering...unless you are literally right on the road, you will have far less noise than in most city places ... more

If by "holiday rentals" you mean renting a house or apartment (ie. self-catering), there are some available in the city as well. Some are in more "suburban" type neighborhoods but still have the convenience of being within the city limits of SF. Have a look at www.vrbo.com ... more
