February 2024 was our fifth wonderful stay at this fantastic hotel in Salzburg. And our third consecutive stay as a family of three with our 4 year old daughter who also loves staying at the Imlauer Pitter. Again we stayed for 7 nights and had a brilliant time. I emailed the hotel in advance to book and Verena & Martin offered a good rate for our return visit. Thank you both very much. Check-in was a lovely warm welcome, as always. Our room was upgraded to the 5th floor. It was very nice and had a separate sleeping area for our daughter and she loved it. There were chocolates and a small birthday cake waiting for us in our room, lovely touch from the hotel! We were again given some tickets for a drink in the hotel’s brilliant SkyBar with amazing views. During our stay, we arrived back to our room on Tuesday afternoon to find a lovely fruit platter from the staff, we really appreciated this. There are free waters in reception for all guests which is a nice touch and breakfast on the sixth floor is always a highlight for us. So many great food and drink choices, it really is one of the best breakfasts we have experienced from many other 5* hotels we’ve stayed in. Beautiful & quality food, well presented and tasty. It got busy on a weekend but quieter during the week. The chef made the best omelettes (highly recommend) and was very friendly with the guests, an asset to the hotel, great customer service from him. Also the guy (I think he is called Anton) who works at breakfast. He kindly brought our daughter some paper & pencils for colouring which she loved. She gave her colouring to him which was very cute. The staff are kind and will go the extra mile for the guests. The hotel is in walking distance to the old town and very close to Mirabel Gardens. It’s approx 15 mins drive from Salzburg airport and approx 10 minutes walk to the train station. They are doing maintenance on the lifts in reception but there are other lifts, we just had to wait a little longer than usual, but that is fine as they are making improvements to the hotel. We would recommend that tourists purchase a Salzburg card - really good value for money and we used ours for the Untersberg cable car, free bus travel, the funicular railway, Mozart’s birth house, and Salzburg zoo (with free bus travel due to the Salzburg card). It’s good value if you plan to visit the sights. We hope to return to the hotel again in 2025. We would highly recommend this great hotel for anyone visiting the beautiful city of Salzburg.
