This hotel is the worst I have stayed at in quite a long time. This review is given in comparison with other hotels at this price level that I have frequented. The amenities are second rate, the location is in midtown and there is nothing immediately close by if you want to get a quick bite after 7pm. Even the Subway Sandwiches across the street closes early which is a real bummer because this hotel has the worst food that I have had a Sheraton ever. Truly poorly executed and not even close to meeting the descriptions on the menu. I ended up having to eat here several times because of the lack of nearby places to go. Had I options, I would have not returned after the first sad experience. Two examples-- I ordered a chicken noodle soup for an evening light meal. The bowl of soup took 30 minutes to show up, and then it wasn't soup. It was a bowl of dry looking pasta with no broth. I thought surely they must have made a mistake and perhaps they meant to serve the broth separately. The server, who was very nice, went to the kitchen to check and was told that the chef had made the soup earlier but it had dried up and that they could pour water on the noodles for me. I sent it back and ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. The soup was thick like a sauce and incredibly bland. I had a couple of bites. The next day, I was working from my room and decided to order room service after finding out that everything nearby was closed. Except that this hotel does not have room service. After ordering the food online I was surprised that I was given a "pick up" time. I thought I must have made a mistake and called guest services who informed me that there is no room service and I had to pick up the food on the second floor. I asked how I would know when it was ready and was told just to head down in 20 minutes. I got busy working and received a call over 30 minutes later telling me that my food was ready for pickup. I got dressed and went to the 2nd floor where the kitchen is located. When I returned to my room I put my pajamas on and opened my Caesar salad only to discover that it had been packaged with no dressing. I called the front desk and asked if there was a way someone could bring my dressing since I was no longer dressed. I was told at first that I would have to pick up the food. While I was getting redressed, I received a call from the front desk person offering to bring the dressing up for me. I was grateful for that and accepted. Unfortunately, the salad was inedible. The added chicken was refrigerator cold. I have had better premade salads at airport convenience stores. Again I ate a couple of bites and tossed the rest. Aside from the abysmal food, the bathroom decor and fixtures are that of a lower end hotel with a cloth shower curtain in a bathtub/shower. The water temperature fluctuated from hot to tepid throughout my shower. The one bright spot was the staff who were all friendly and helpful. However, for over $500 per night, I have much better choices and will not be returning to this facility.
Beware - “Confirmed” rooms at SAC Sheraton aren’t really confirmed

Major bad judgments from SAC Sheraton. Room was booked 3-4 weeks prior for 1 night. My Suite Night upgrade was confirmed/guaranteed 3 days prior. I took a risk and cancelled our alternate Embassy Suites confirmed/guaranteed upgrade in lieu for Sheraton SAC instead. Bad choice.
HUGE disgrace by SAC Sheraton to Marriott. Check in ~3pm Tuesday. Hold On…. SAC Sheraton gave away my “Confirmed” suite around 2pm Tuesday despite my Suite Night being confirmed on Saturday?! It had still been showing confirmed after lunch Tuesday. 1 hour later it’s gone. No honor. No integrity. Disgraceful to the great Marriott Family brand. They steal a Suite Night, confirm/guarantee it 3 days prior, and swap it to a standard room at last second. Textbook bait and switch.
Note: The 1 x night room was for my brother and I for his consultation cancer treatment at UC Davis. He had to fly in from out of State. My multiple calls to the General Manager (JG) were disappointedly never returned. I will continue to remain loyal to Marriott but not this disgraceful and deceitful SAC Sheraton.
Rooms: Average size for downtown SAC. Old but expected for such an outdated hotel. We’ve seen a worse Sheraton before one time. Price: high but fair given location Cleanliness: Good - as expected Desk Service: Friendly and quick; clueless on handling a wrong room assignment though Food/Room Service: Average Housekeeping: N/A - Wouldn’t know - checked out next day and went to Embassy Suites along the river - WOW! Great experience there. Management: Lacking at SAC Sheraton

Really dated and tired lobby decor. Room had furniture in it that looked like it was 20 years old. Not a single USB port in the place. Bathroom wasn’t 100% clean. This place is being milked for profit and none of the money is being invested in the hotel. Shame. Plus the location is dicey at night.

Picture this: a fancy ballroom fit for the New Year’s Eve Great Gatsby dance event to ring in 2024 with high, fancy ceilings and good acoustics, and...a colossal check-in fail. That, my friends, was our Sheraton escapade. Now, we're Hyatt loyalists, but this event tangoed us to the Marriott side, and boy, did they drop the ball (not the disco NYE kind, unfortunately).
A month before, we snagged a room with a premium upgrade, king-sized bed. I even double-checked with a call. As a side note, I challenge anyone reading this to attempt to call the Sheraton in Sacramento about a room and see how long it takes to talk to a human. It was a process.
Fast forward to check-in day, hearts fluttering with anticipation, dressed to the nines or whatever the expression is (I’m sure I butchered it). The receptionist confirms our reservation, then throws on the brakes saying (verbatim!) "I'm so sorry, it looks like while I was checking you in, a Marriot member with a higher status took the last King sized bed - would a room with two queens be ok?" We were surprised (also why phrase it that way?) but said "sure," picturing a romantic queen-sized cuddle.
Imagine our surprise when the room resembled a dimly lit cave, and the "queen" beds turned out to be doubles! Now, my wife and I are masters of the snuggle, but this was a Tetris-level challenge. We ended up like conjoined twins, limbs overflowing the edges, shoulders glued together. We got some sleep but not a ton, especially with the surprisingly thin walls.
TLDR: Got told we were downgraded (but with the same cost) due to a higher member status taking our reservation, did not sleep well, the room was lacking unless you enjoy involuntary mattress-sharing and spelunking-inspired ambiance.

Amazing hotel with great room service. They had made a mistake at first, I did request a king size bed and booked me for a 2 king size bed. They corrected this mistake and allow me to select the room that works for me. I decided on the 2 king size bed for the better view on the 17th floor. Samir Malik was perfect and took care of my stay. I would recommend 5 out of 5 stars.
