The rooms are pretty large in this hotel but there were a number of things I wasn't a fan of. For one thing the elevators were slow, for another the shower was in a tub and the tub walls were seriously high. First time in shower when I went to get out I almost hit the tub wall and came close to falling. Thankfully, I caught myself or it would have HURT. A breakfast buffet is included in room. There is a lot of food there but everything I tried was mediocre. Lobby in hotel felt like it had a wacky configuration and outside is a huge rock. Not sure the significance of the rock but it is not a beautiful piece of art.

Dear savytraverlor433323,
Thank you very much for your review and stay with us. We appreciate your detailed feedback and will discuss it with the respective departments! We understand that the No Problem Rock sculpture (this is indeed the name) is a piece of art that is controversial, some like it some really think its ugly. Unfortunately we have no say in this:) as we dont own it. We hope however that you enjoyed Zurich and wish you safe and enriching travels! Thank you again for having stayed with us! Kind regards

Arrived on Easter Monday at dinner time. Renaissance dining room was very expensive for us. Staff was understanding when we said we couldn't afford it. Easy walk to another hotel where server suggested we share a meal. There was plenty for each of us.
We had mixed service at the front desk. The man was super rude when we arrived. The next day, a woman explained that perks are not permitted to tour groups.
The box breakfast for our early morning departure was standard European fare - Danish, croissant, apple, juice, and a fruit bar similar to granola. Coffee flowed freely for us.
The toilet & bathrooms were unlike anything I've experienced. The toilet room sink was difficult to use. The shower was easy to enter and had a half door.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Set amongst the business district of Zürich, it was only ever a ten minute tram ride in to the centre itself, meaning it was closer to the airport. We had a lovely welcome by Arjeta, she genuinely wanted us to have a nice stay and told us all about the hotel and surrounding area. She was also genuinely interested in us as guests and we felt truly made at home and relaxed with her warm welcome.
We were on the 14th floor which gave us access to the lounge, which btw was a lovely area with beautiful, plush seating and stunning views. Happy hour between 5-7pm is not to be missed! The crispy chicken breasts and selection of cheeses to name but a few nearly made me not to want to go out for dinner! You can also have breakfast up there but we wanted to make sure we had the bigger variety in the main breakfast area as the lounge was more “cosier”. Our room was just enormous, with seating area and divine crisp white sheets and a heavenly mattress. Power shower and bath allowed you to have either a relaxing soak or monsoon shower! We slept very well.
Breakfast is a large affair, the selection was vast and there were quite a few Swiss inspired items which were just delicious. The breakfast staff were phenomenally friendly and were quick to clear things away (we definitely needed more space on our table as we kept refilling!).
We loved the sauna too, just draw dropping views as you literally sat in the sauna over the surrounding hills of Zürich, plus a well equipped gym attached should you need it.
Check out was smooth and friendly despite a large crowd of airline crew checking in/out at the same time. This hotel is wonderful, we will only ever choose to stay here the next time we are back, thank you for such a lovely stay.

I recently had an extremely unsatisfactory experience at the Zurich Renaissance Hotel, despite my platinum elite status and a decade-long loyalty to Marriott. The check-in process was lackluster, providing no acknowledgment of my loyalty over the years.
The room, while appearing clean, presented a multitude of issues. The drain was clogged, the shower head leaked water, and there were even urinal flies in the bathroom. The door security latch was malfunctioning, compromising my sense of safety.
What added to my frustration was an intrusive knock on my door shortly after checking in, despite the prominent "do not disturb" sign. This disrupted my sleep and left me thoroughly dissatisfied.
As a loyal customer, I had high expectations for my stay, especially when it comes to two crucial elements in a Marriott hotel – a peaceful and restful experience and a sense of safety and security. Unfortunately, both were sorely lacking during this stay, making it the worst experience I've had with the brand in the past decade. I expected more from a brand that I've trusted for so many years.

Dear Mr. Lee,
Thank you for taking time and sharing your feedback with us. As per Marriott policies, cabin crew members from airlines who are staying at the property on work trips do not benefit from any rewards that your Bonvoy status entails. This is Marriott policy and has been communicated with your employer and agreed upon mutually.
We acknowledged the housekeeping issue, which is unacceptable and addressed it to the leadership team in order to keep the necessary guidelines in place.
