      Awesome experience!
My son and I just did the axe throwing (which included tomahawk and Angel Axe throwing as well). A family of three joined us for the axe throwing and we competed against them. It sort of sounds dangerous but it isn't really as long as you observe their limited but very firm rules. It is all very safely run and controlled but still incredibly enjoyable! I am really glad to have had this challenging experience and with practice I feel I could improve. Scores were emailed to us after the event (which is standard procedure). Great for team building I would imagine.

Excellent experience for all ages and abilities
As part of a birthday celebration, we took part in the target archery session for a group of 10 of us ranging in age from 17 to 81. The staff were so friendly and helpful from the word go, making us feel welcome and at ease. This was particularly appreciated given that one of our group was in a wheelchair, one found the larger bow tricky to use and most of us were complete novices. None of these factors caused as issue though - with one member of staff helping to push the wheelchair user, a smaller, lighter bow being found and lots of clear, patient encouragement given throughout. There were a range of fun challenges from traditional target shooting to aiming at balloons and then life-size foam animals/zombies. As well as thoroughly enjoying participating in the archery session, we also liked watching the axe throwing and the combat archery which also looked great fun. We were able to enjoy a picnic lunch which we had brought with us thanks to the benches, tables and chairs provided. All in all, we can highly recommend Arrowdox as a thoroughly enjoyable activity from start to finish. With genuine thanks to all the staff for making this such as special birthday treat :-)

      Great hosts and fun archery
John and Kerry were great hosts, both were polite, welcoming, enthusiastic and fun. Before starting the session Kerry gave an informative guide on how to use the bow and we were given a few practise shots. After we played lots of different games which were great fun! The variety of games Kerry selected were fun, competitive and kept the session really interesting. The 90 minutes flew by and I really enjoyed my experience here. I could have easily carried on the archery session for another hour! I also liked that the total number of people taking part was only small (4 people in total), this made me feel like I did not have to rush or did not feel pressure from fellow competitors that were waiting for their turn. Kerry also allowed us to take as many photos/videos as we wanted which was another positive as I love to take photos to capture memories. They had taken into consideration the covid guidelines which made me feel safe - everybody was spaced apart, the instructors would not come too close (if they were giving feedback to you they would do this from a distance), bows and arrows are wiped down before use. There was no toilet on site but Kerry said they had to remove the portaloo due to covid, so maybe in regular times there would be one there. After our archery session Kerry and John were very kind to allow us to have a free go at tomahawk throwing. Throughout the time I was there I never felt rushed by the instructors, they were always happy to help and were funny. Thanks for a great afternoon!!

Highly recommended for any time of the year
We visited this weekend with a very mixed age group - teenagers, a ten year old, my 68 year old dad, and a middle aged dad. Kerry and the team were really welcoming and professional, while maintaining strict social distancing and cleanliness routines between each activity. The tests and tasks gradually got more complicated, which really helped us to have fun but also to learn during the 90 minute session (which flew by, but left us all knowing that we had been outside doing an activity) Everyone was catered for with different sized bows and different weights of arrows and different target types and she made us all feel like we were learning (even me, who went backwards in skill!)

      Father's Day family activity
We had a great time today, as a family, at Arrowdox just outside of Ampthill. Kerry taught us how to shoot a bow and arrow, we had a good laugh and really enjoyed the activity. Will definitely go back in the future to try one of the other activities available. Highly recommended.

We did axe throwing this morning with Jon, who was very helpful trying to get us in the best position for our axes to land (and is great with slow mo action shot videos). We also got to try some throws with the tomahawks at the end outside. Had a great morning, will definitely recommend and take part again. Thanks!

We went for an 11 o clock slot, the weather was amazing and the wind was blowing, the perfect excuse should I have missed a target! Alas we were inside!

John and Kerry, the gracious hosts/hunters were very helpful and friendly. Their technique coaching was great and fun!

I always did want to know how I would fair in an actual zombie apocalypse, and now I know..... I know I'll need more practice!

There is something satisfying about landing an axe onto a target, perhaps it's the weight of the axe in your hands, or the sound it makes as it pierces the wood *CHOMP*. Either way, I like it.

I would totally recommend this to anyone! We did the indoor axe and the outdoor tomahawks. Then we had a go at the long range throw, which is really tough! I could happily have done this all day!

This was a lot of fun for me and I would go again.

A fab afternoon at Arrowdox. Particularly enjoyed the axe throwing. My 13 year old love it! Great fun for all the family (we did the battle archery as well). The friendly staff were great. Would be great for schools, groups such as scouts or guides and birthday parties.

For my 18th, me and a few friends wanted to do a day activity that was unusual and something we would always remember. After a little searching, we found this amazing company that catered to all our needs. They offered us water and other refreshments and showed us some trick moves with the axes. Absolute bargain for what we paid for and the hosts were amazing company and a great laugh. Would definitely go again and already planning our next visit

I was one of the lucky few who got to test the battle archery out before they opened to the public. It was such a fun experience, I went with friends and family. It’s great if you fancy shooting family members with arrows (without death) say your sister/friend borrowed your top then got a red wine stain on it, now it’s time for revenge!. It’s also good exercise as you’re running round lots but it doesn’t feel like exercise, it’s a laugh. Since I went they’ve added so much more, it looks amazing. I will 100% be going back as I want to try axe throwing next!

So it’s bank holiday, v.hot and we rock up to a very well constructed axe throwing and archery field. Kerry and Jon gave us a warm welcome and showed us how all the equipment worked. All of it was brand new and very well maintained. We had chosen battle archery and we played several games through the afternoon all were different but great fun. We had plenty of water breaks as it was a hot day but we had loads of fun also. We all wore Gym gear as it was hot, the arrows are foam covered so don’t hurt at all. Throughly recommend this as a great afternoon out as a group of friends or large family.

I wasn't sure what to expect when our family were invited along for a session at Arrowdox, particularly as we live barely a mile away and I had never come across it before.

Suffice to say, what an outstanding way to spend an afternoon. The children particularly enjoyed the Battle Archery (especially the adults v kids battle) but my favourite activity was definitely the axe throwing. I think was probably the last in the group to get the hang of it, but once I did I didn't want to stop.

A fun, fab and different afternoon out, which I think would be a brilliant team activity with work, school trip or just a family outing.

We did both archery and axe throwing and it’s good fun for an evening with the team. It has some level of activity but people can talk and relax in between. There are a few nice pubs 5 min from the place
