Overall the day was worth it even at 70 years of age. Please exercise caution if over that age or have a disability as roads in the Park are extremely rough and your Jeeps access when boarding them before the Park gates require very good agility. We saw plenty of Monkeys, Water Buffalo, Deer, Crocodiles, Peacocks and many varieties of birds inc Flamingoes. We can see most in Oz but what made the day are the Elephants. Note no Leopards or Sloth Bears as they are difficult to see but some said they saw a Leopard. The tour was good value and even though the Park charges an extra $45 Usd per person (note not $22 to $25 as seen on website) on arrival which is cash only and you can pay in various currencies to head tour guy but no card payments. Would we do it again NO but its a must for a First time. In closing so impressed with lack of littering here in Sri Lanka. Well done.

Amazing tour with Yasha at the wheel. He saw a carcass near a bush and had a feeling .. He then managed to spot the leopard in some heavy bushes a few metres from the carcass - no idea how he saw it. Out of 60+ tour jeeps in the park that day we were the only ones to see one 👏 very lucky as there’s not many and it’s definitely not guaranteed you’ll see one. Had a great time seeing the rest with some top insights from Yasha.

Really only wanted to see a Leopard but only seen its bum lying on a tree so far away. Still exciting though, seeing all the other animals but we were disappointed not being able to see a full sized leopard! Just your luck!

We did the afternoon safari, in which we saw all the animals that are in the park. A leopard, sloth bears, mongoose, elephants, different species of birds. This is fully down to the amazing driver, Yashara, who took us through some quieter areas to ensure we could see everything we wanted to! He was really knowledgable and gave us all the insight and context on what we were seeing etc. Would definitely recommend this company, although there was a slight mix up initially with our hotel not being listed (we were v close to the park entrance and they wanted us to head out in to town to meet the driver) but this was all sorted over WhatsApp and they arrived straight to our hotel. 🙂 Just beware that this is the price for the driver & vehicle and you will need cash to pay the park entrance (13,000 rupees when we went).

This was easily the highlight of our entire trip in Sri Lanka. Every aspect of the place exceeded expectations, from the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with welcome drinks and friendly staff. I have never seen service quite like this place, and always with the biggest smile. The staff would literally come running if they thought they could help with something. They are a credit to their country and culture. The chefs cooked the most perfect meals, lobsters for lunch then a flamed BBQ over an open fire under the stars. The deck overlooks the forest canopy, making the whole place feel like a treetop experience. The air conditioned tents are fully immersed in the jungle, forming the perfect combination of raw nature and a luxury stay. The baths are set into the floor of the bedroom, a huge bathroom and a massive bed on a raised platform. They provide the best safari experience I’ve ever had and have the best safari car on the island - a modified Land Cruiser. They bring two staff members along who spot the finest details. We saw multiple leopards, sloth bears, tusked elephants, crocodiles and every other animal we could hope for. When they found out it was my birthday, the staff did a special trip to town to surprise me with a birthday cake. The best! Genuinely can’t recommend them enough. We will be back!

This tour was good and well worth it, the driver was very knowledgeable and made every effort we would see as many animals as possible: mainly water buffalos, birds, crocodiles, some elephants and 1 leopard. Make no mistake, even though this tour is advertised as "leopard tour", you will most likely only see leopards from afar, sleeping on trees. This is not an "evening safari", as advertised - but an afternoon safari, where predators are all sleeping (like cats at home). Actual night safaris, rightly so, do not exist, as this would be too invasive for animals. So considering your options: yes, do this tour, worthwile! And book it here on Tripadvisor, my hotel wanted to sell a similar tour at US$200

Safari over all was great! We saw all the animals we could see in this area. Our driver - Yasha was getting information very quickly where the animals were visible and had excellent driving skills thanks to which we were always among the first to arrive at scene. Every time Yasha often gets some inside info (for instance all the people were watching elephant and he told us that we need to go because he has something much better that noone knew about it and it was bear sloth) about the animals like where they might be, he rapidly goes crazy, started speeding and passing all the vehicles to be there asap. Highly recommend the company and especially driver Yasha.

The wildlife observed was minimal, with only a few birds, a lizard, one elephant, and a water buffalo seen during the visit. The situation worsened when a group of about 30 jeeps waited to spot a leopard, but the animal did not appear.

I can recommend this 100%. It was so amazing my driver for the trip “Yashara was so amazing and we got to see the leopard. The leopard is normally really rare to see but our driver was very good at looking out, and the communication was very good as well, all the drivers was talking together so it would be easier to spot it. We also saw alot other animals like Crocodiles and Elefant. I can highly recommend this trip.

Booked pickup from Ella via Udawalawe to Hikkaduwa. The driver arrived a bit earlier and was very friendly. He was a safe driver and nice to chat with. Comfortable car. The safari jeep and driver were also really good. Spotted lots of animals and had some really nice elephant experiences! Highly recommend!

We had a blast! We booked a safari for half a day in the afternoon and we saw many animals: one leopard, many elephants (with babies), crocodiles and monkeys among others. Our driver Yasha was super skilled in providing the best locations to spot the animals, gave information about them and made sure we were comfortable and happy with the experience. He also was careful and respectful towards the animals themselves by turning off the engine for instance and keeping the correct distance. We highly recommend it!

A great time all round! Our tour guide Laksha was extremely lovely and went above and beyond throughout the entire safari. We would 100% recommend this safari to see animals in the wild🙏
