About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Paradise397444332270 contributionsHighly recommended tour. Our guide who speaks fluent English is so friendly, and professional. We learned a lot about the culture and the Rarámuri indigenous people. Nowadays we can all get info from the internet, but gaining knowledge from our guide whose grandmother is a 100% Rarámuri is priceless. For us, it was a perfect day to tour around all the attraction points. Beautiful scenery and mild hiking, it was an excellent experience! Highly recommended. Yvette M.Written 9 October 2024
- 614stanislavk0 contributionsGreat experience discovering the surroundings of CreelWe spent a very nice day with Martin and Karen. They were both very nice, knowledgeable and professional. I can only recommend this tour when you’re in Creel! :)Written 15 April 2024
- Wendy M0 contributionsWorth Taking the Combined TourOur tour guide Martin was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and from Creel. The only downside was that due to lack of rain the waterfall was a trickle!Written 24 February 2024
- marcain0 contributionsA project in development, still wonderfulThere are zip lines, cable cars, rapelling, and scary ped bridges across scary heights. Spend more than a full day here if you can. We spent only a few hours, the cable car ride is amazing. For those from the US, this is an entirely safe adventure with regard to the nonsense that you'll hear and read. Come here, visit the area, and enjoy it. It is utterly safe. Even the adventures are safe - there is lots of gear and the facilities are designed for everyone. I'm 64, so declined the more adventurous exercises.Written 3 March 2020
- theclaudial0 contributionsGreat service!Really easy to work with, very nice ppl, Jorge was a knowledgeable guide. Super recommend. Did a private tour to Cusarare and was able to skip the stuff I had already seen, and spend more time at the falls.Written 1 November 2019
- donamagdalena0 contributionsAmazingGreat service, safe, anything you ask, they will deliver, so helpful... if you need a specific tour they can provide it. Emmanuel was greatWritten 26 August 2019
- TLL19790 contributionsGreat tour, wonderful guideWe had a great day on this tour. Gilbert was wonderful, answering all our questions - he was very knowledgable of the local area. Neither my husband or I speak Spanish so having a guide who can speak English, Spanish and the local Indigenous language was a real plus.Written 9 May 2019
- Shaun A0 contributionsGuided tourWe done a tour with canyon adventure tours and were lucky to have Gilbert as our guide. He speaks great english, as well as tarahumara. He has a great rapport with the local Tarahumura, and we felt lucky to have been able to of been invited in to see the Tarahumuras way of living. The countryside is amazing and it is an experience that should be top of your list whilst in Creel.Written 9 May 2019
- Ewaizel0 contributionsEnoel was the bestEnoel was the best !!! He was our driver for 4 days. Always keeping us safe and entertained. Even if this represented a long journey crossing at night icy snowy roads. He really knows all places and is friend of all Tarahumaras we met and visited. We did most of the tours they offer. Pedro the owner was always behind making sure the vehicle and general al service was good. My only area of improvement for them is communication and the reservation process. To reserve they asked for a deposit. Still, there was no way to pay by credit card or PayPal. They asked for a wire transfer to their bank in Mexico. I tried sensing money via Western Union. There was no place to receive the money in town. I also had to constantly email and call them to make sure all was good.Written 31 December 2018
- carlosfbarrios0 contributionsGreat tour at Cooper CanyonWe just finished last week a nice tour from Chihuahua to Los Mochis. Canyons Adventure was great for the organization as we received from Marcos excellent support for transport and railroad tickets. Our guide was Enoel, he knows very well the region and is an excellent photographer, he did very nice shots of all the group. I highly recommend contacting Canyons Adventure for visiting the region.Written 14 November 2018
- victorruelasr0 contributionsImpresionante...Thousand times more impressive than Grand Canyon, I missed the zip line, (After struggle with my fears) closed because of weather conditions. Highly recommended. You must eat in the food stands located in the main area.Written 5 September 2018
- cabochristine0 contributionsBucket List Trip for Sure!I did a 5-day trip with "canyontravel.com" and knew from the first stop in El Fuerte's Posada del Hidalgo that it was going to be a great week! The hotels were all in the Balderrama Hotel chain...and were "old world" charming with great beds, food, comfort and service. My favorite part of their chain is their hummingbird feeding stations, where those little creatures just buzzed and chirped their way into my heart for hours! Our guides were from the Valderrama group and could not have been more gracious, helpful and informative. Now to the GOOD parts...hitting the train early on morning one and riding through the canyons is equal parts breath-taking and relaxing!! Parts of the trip were done by a very comfy van with stops wayyyyy up high to view the canyons, rivers and authentic native indians' way of life. The last stop for 2 days was in a wonderful hotel perched on the edge of the canyon with views for miles. Oh, and so many hummingbirds flying about I thought I might be struck by one -- but they are far too good for that. My personal hi-lites were going into the actual villages of the "running people" and seeing how little life has changed for them for 100's of years, going on hikes overlooking the canyon and finally...a 1.5 mile zipline crossing over the center of it! While this was a meal and tour-inclusive trip, prices in this part of the country are very reasonable for add-ons like souvenirs and cocktails. Overall, I would highly suggest this tour!Written 7 June 2018
- johnO524MA0 contributionsGreat trip - Excellent guide. We were a group of 6 and had just one afternoon to see Creel and the surrounding area. Guide was Ever Torres (the first name could be wrong). Very thoughtful and knowledgable. First asked what we wanted to see and adjusted the trip accordingly. Showed us not only magnificent views and beautiful places but also gave a lot of insights into how the Rarámuri (Tarahumara) actually live. This especially was highly appreciated.Written 22 May 2018
- zzrlilli0 contributionsGood tour company - thanks JavierMany thanks to Javier. We took a tour of the local sites of interest with him and found him to be very polite, relaxed and professional.Written 27 January 2017
- Sajni S0 contributionsPedro is the manPedro can not only arrange your el Chepe tickets (which are not the easiest to obtain in advance), but he will also pick you up from the station and is incredibly helpful with touring the copper canyon, offering various options depending on what you want to do. My favourite was going for a swim in the curasure waterfalls.Written 1 November 2016

Canyons Adventure took great care of us throughout our tours in Divisadero, Barrancas de Cobre, Creel, and even to the airport in Chihuahua. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. A bit of Spanish will help, but going with a tour group is a great way to improve your fluency. They also have ATVs in Creel. Here’s a picture from the balcony in Divisadero of the hotel Canyons Adventure obtained for us.

We chose Copper Canyon Adventures to organize a tour for us through the Copper Canyon. This included the El Chepe train ride starting from El Fuerte. They organized secure storage for our camper van, excellent accommodations and great tours, all customized to our budget and priorities. They took care of us every step of the way.
We had many iterations of fine tuning our agenda, which Tammy did in a very professional and timely manner, to come up with a perfect trip for us.
To summarize - we highly recommend Copper Canyon Adventures to organize a custom tour. We had a fabulous time seeing incredible scenery, meeting wonderful people and making memories that we will always cherish.

Our guide, Ricardo, picked us up at the hotel on time, we began the tour with explanations and interesting talks about Creel, the Sierra and the entire Tarahumara culture. We did the entire itinerary on time and enjoyed each place to the fullest. Super recommended!

I found this trip too much travelling. I loved the views and the canyon area in Diversado. We drove from Mazatlan 5 hours to El Fuerte, one nigh in El Fuerte and then train to Creel for 3 nights. We took a tour back to Diversado to see the canyon. then back on the train to El Fuerte and another 5 hours back to Mazatlan.
If I were to do this again I would fly to Chihuahua, take a bus/tour 3 hours to Creel, stay 1 or 2 nights in Creel, train to Diversado and spend 1 or 2 nights and then to El Fuerte. The train is great in 1st/Premier class. Not a lot of English speaking people so make sure you have a translation app on your phone.

Hello my dear, and if you are right, the way you did your logistics was a heavy trip due to the lengths, however, there are travel packages of 6 days and 5 nights that are relaxing and go at a slow pace to avoid fatigue and above all to enjoy the history of each place. We look forward to seeing you on your next adventure. And you are also right, the chepe train is first class :))
Our guides are all bilingual, we are here to serve you.

Must visit this wonderful place, its landscapes, its attractions, its zip line is worth it, eating in the restaurant is an excellent option, the view, the food, they have craft beers from the region and their milkshakes are very good, the cost is affordable if you want to spend the same or less than the outside stalls.

I highly recommend this travel agency, we had to do 2 excursions on the same day, which were Copper Canyon and the Combined Tour, it was a full day of experiences, from getting to know the Raramuris communities and that impressive Copper Canyon, going on the zip rayder It was an adrenaline rush (not to be missed) for adventure lovers.
We would not have experienced all of this without all the help of Marcos Ramirez who resolved things for us based on his experience, kindness and knowledge, we were able to do everything we had planned, Marco via chat was attentive to our entire trip, from picking us up at the station of the chepe to take us to the hotel and pick us up the next day to do the adventure that should not be missed and no less important, Ricardo who was our guide on all the walks and also surprising his knowledge of the area, who gave valuable information at all times
Thanks again to Marco and Ricardo for all their help
