      Very knowledgable crew
Saw 2 distant White Tailed Eagles, perched in a tree and the scenery was outstanding. The guys on board were very helpful and knew their stuff.

      Scenic boat trip
The day of our trip was a little cold but we were provided with blankets. Spectacular interaction with white tailed eagles. A little quiet with other wildlife. Boat was a bit smaller and basic than expected. Crew friendly and wildlife guide knowledgeable.

Absolutely fabulous trip. We managed to spot two Golden Eagles, two red deer and three Sea Eagles which were flying together, two females were having a mid air fight and we even rescued a chap in a broken boat and towed him back to G!enfinnan. Such a great day, the crew were brilliant, would highly recommend.

      Expensive for
Nature doesn’t turn up on our say so. On this trip nothing appeared. The commentary was hard to hear at the rear of the boat. We did see the Glenfinnan viaduct of Harry Potters fame

      Fantastic views and wildlife
Beautiful views. Service with a smile. Ali and Ben were friendly, informative and attentive to all on board and made the trip incredibly enjoyable. Both had incredible knowledge of the wildlife and we managed to get amazing views of White tailed and golden eagles, amongst deer and others. I even got a wee dram for spotting the white tailed eagle first. Lovely touch. We were lucky enough to see two white tailed eagles fighting in mid air. Fantastic experience. We will be back!

A must if visiting Glenfinnan or Ardnmurchan areas
Superb cruise. I was picked up at Polloch with my bike and cruised down to Acharacle. En route we sa a pair of white tailed sea eagles and black throated divers. We were dropped off in Acharacle for a walk about and then picked up for our return journey. On return to Glenfinnan i caught the bus back to Acharacle where i had left my bike and i cycled back to Strontian/Polloch. The crew are very helpful and knowledgeable

Excellent two hours, well worth it.
Went on a two hour cruise of Loch Shiel and thoroughly enjoyed it - very friendly and knowledgeable two-man crew, the skipper pointed out the wildlife, binoculars and guidebooks to the flora and fauna were provided. The commentary on the history and landscape was excellent and the views of the viaduct, mountains and coast were wonderful Highly recommend it.

We had a mixture of weather and the views were beautiful regardless. The guides were ever so friendly and super insightful. A 10/10 experience and a bargain for the price you pay.

We booked this after having to cancel our trip on the Jacobite Steam Train and it was the best move ever.

We saw so much and even got to see the train on the viaduct instead of being on it.

Ruth and Ali kept us all safe and provided an interesting insight into a loch that has featured so heavily in films and history. There knowledge of the local area was strong and they even pointed out wildlife on the mountains.

It was an enjoyable and fun couple of hours.

The cruise was a great way to finish off our staycation in Glenfinnan. Ally was great with local knowledge and helping us spot the Golden Eagles and making sure that everyone had the time to try and find them through the binoculars. Boat was perfect with Covid measures too which allowed more space. Definately take a trip on the loch to see the gorgeous views from a different angle. We are already planning to return next year.

Glenaladale trip was fab. Gorgeous scenery. We saw the Jacobite train going across the Glenfinnan Viaduct and could also see the Glenfinnan monument. As we cruised down the loch we were given history and information about the surrounding areas. We saw Red Deer, Golden Eagles, Sparrowhawk and Red Throated Diver. Ali and Chris were brilliant, knew there stuff and could spot the wildlife a mile off. We will definitely return.

Recently had a great time on the Loch Shiel Cruise. We had booked the 2 hour trip as there was no availability on the 1 hour cruise, and we were glad that was the case! Trip was great, Ally was a fantastic captain, really nice and wanted to make sure that everyone got to see the Eagles. Free binoculars to use were a bonus and great for spotting the Eagles!

My partner and I booked the 2.5 hour Glenaladale Cruise for the 10:40 departure and were the only two on the boat. The tour guide, Ali, was absolutely fantastic. He provided us with waterproofs and binoculars, provided loads of really interesting information, and was a delight to be around.

The trip itself was equally as fantastic - plenty of great scenery, and a great view of the viaduct. Great value for money, and absolutely worth the trip.

First off don't be fooled by the pictures showing the Jacobite train going over the viaduct. It's either been enlarged or a telescopic lens used. The viaduct is quite a distance from the loch.
We booked and paid for this trip a good week before going and wasn't advised that the company would be closing for the season on the 11/10/23.
We arrived at the meeting place before time, it's a good walk from the car park, took us about 7 - 10 mins as there was no signs of the hotel we needed to find, where we were told by another party that there was a delay of 20 minutes. After half an hour a man from one of the nearby houses asked if we were waiting to go on the trip, we said yes and had been waiting a while. He kindly offered to phone the guy who was supposed to be running the trip. He came back after 10 mins. approximately to say that the trip was cancelled due to the operator closing down for the season the day before 11/10/23. If it hadn't been for this person making a phone call I doubt the operator would have advised any of us the trip had been cancelled.
After contacting Tripadviser our refund was quickly dealt with, within a few days

This was a wonderful cruise with fabulous and thoughtful guides. We couldn’t have felt more welcome on their beautiful boat and every member of our group felt safe and happy! The kids had colourings and a Harry Potter sticker hunt for when the scenery spotting became monotonous for them and the adults were wowed with the natural beauty, history, links to the Harry Potter films and all of us couldn’t believe our luck to see a white tailed eagle, golden eagle and red deer along with several other sea birds. It was great to have a bar on board for hot and cold drinks as well as lots if information books about the boat and wildlife. The view of the Jacobite steam train going over the viaduct was more impressive than when we stood at the viewpoint to watch it earlier in the week.

This cruise really provided the highlight of our Scotland trip.

Thanks so much and we’ll definitely be back

We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise down Loch Shiel today, despite the wind and rain! The crew and captain were really friendly and knowledgeable, spotting wildlife for us the entire time. We even managed to see a couple of eagles! The Glenanadale cruise pauses just after departure for you to see the Jacobite steam train cross over the viaduct. The boat is from the 1940s and feels like it will last at least another 80 years. It didn't rock around despite the wind and rough water, so we didn't feel sick. It has a covered area with things to keep the kids entertained. We'll be booking again if we return to Glenfinnan in better weather, but don't let the weather put you off.

Our trip on Loch Shiel Cruises was probably one of our highlights of our holiday. Ali, the boat owner was a lovely, friendly guy, as was Heidi the tour guide.

We learned a bit about the boat, the local history and with binoculars supplied, Ali directed us all to spot Red Deer on the hills and several Golden Eagles soaring above the hilltops.

We did the Glenaladale cruise, which lasted around 2 hours. It was lovely to view the hills, monument and Glenfinnan viaduct (including the Jacobite steam train!) from a different perspective in the water.

An amazing experience and one I absolutely recommend if you’re in the area.
