      take this boat tour
This was one my best experiences in Hamburg. I was impressed with all of the activities taking place in the harbor. I did not need to understand German to know what I was looking at.......

      Not the best!
Odd tour all the way around. Started with confusion with the staff on where it started. “Brucke 7. No Brucke 1. No it’s Brucke 7.” In the end we went to Brucke 1 - like it told us on the email and got on a boat. It ended up being the right boat for the 1:30 tour and we left at 1:02! Once we got on, everyone else on the boat had been offered beverages. No one offered us any. As for the actual tour, it needed more time near the HafenCity for me. It spent about 10-15 minutes in that area and the rest of it was about shipping and industry. Odd. Strange. Ok.

Perfect for historical knowledge and experience
The city has such a rich history that is thoroughly explained and highlighted all throughout the tour. There is an app for English speakers to listen to as they take the tour. The app was a bit out of order, but easy enough to navigate. They offer inside seating or up on the back deck. Overall, it was the highlight of my time in Hamburg during a day stop on a cruise. Lovely walk from the cruise terminal to get to the port, with a stroll through the city's famous tunnel. I was also able to visit some of the places that we visited while in the harbor.

      Unforgettable!
It was fun! The map link on the Trip Advisor website took us to the wrong meeting place but fortunately we had left enough time. We only saw the sign to download the English audio at the end of the trip so we hadn’t a clue about what the guy was saying but we still managed to enjoy the ride. As we were travelling towards the experience we say the largest container ship in the world docking, and our ride included a close up view of it at the end. It extended the trip and was a fabulous experience.

      Great tour
Florian was an amazing guide, he was incredibly personable, funny, interesting and has so much knowledge of the area. I couldn't recommend him enough to people, he made the 2 hours fly past with our tour and covered so much with us.

A great way to get a feel of this great city
Despite the November weather, we had a great time. The ferry was warm, and the large windows allowed an excellent view. The English audio tour was inevitably more limited than the live one (in German) as, being pre-recorded, it could not react to the current events - the particular ships on the water etc. I should perhaps have realised how huge the harbour was. This was an excellent introduction to Hamburg

      Good value
We used this tour for our trip around Hamburg and found it to be informative and well organised. It is reasonably priced and runs efficiently meaning you can stop and take photos and another bus arrives afterwards at the time it says.

      It was nice
It was a pretty crowded. I had specified that my preferred language (English) and still, the tour was made in German so I didn’t understand the info that the guide was saying. Which was a shame because he was giving a lot of facts about the different places. The drinks weren’t good. The view was really pretty though! And they were making a party vibe so it was fun.

Good value once we found the correct bus line
The tour itself is great, does all sides of the city, took about 1 hour 40 mins. We got headphones which we turned the volume up to drown out the German commentary coming over the speakers. We decided to catch the bus at the main train station, got the runaround as to what side/ bus stop we were meant to be. Finally found it on Steintorwall Strasse side, driver wasn’t happy taking the Viator voucher off my phone but I insisted it was good. The tour itself is great, worth the €€

      Pleasant evening harbor tour
This tour is of the Hamburg harbor at night the tour director only spoke German so couldn’t get the history of the harbor. Mostly all just loading dock lights. Not really a spectacular light display. The boat was really nice. The meeting location was not where described on the site it’s actually down at the dock.

      very loud and unprofessional experience
If you want to go on a booze cruise that is loud and obnoxious with dogs barking, people playing music while the host attempts to describe key findings, this is the event for you! We were given headset for English but could not hear over all the loud noises. We requested a refund without success. Buyer beware, especially if you want to actually hear the tour guide and learn something about Hamburg.

      $50 to see Shipping Containers
Skip this cruise unless you are interested in seeing the mechanics of shipping containers being unloaded off of freighters , similar to Port Elizabeth as seen from the NJ turnpike. The Elbe has some beautiful areas, none of which we saw. It was all in German, supposedly an app for English, but we didn’t have any earbuds. Thankfully it was a beautiful day, they sell beer and drinks, we sat on the very top, so all was not lost, except $70

      Other better options
There were 12 stops with the narration in various languages via earphones. Can be disconcerting as there is also a loud German narration on the speakers in the bus. The starting point is at the back of the Central Station. Cost was $18.50 {Euros} BUT there is another hop on hop off - blue bus - that offers a longer route and a discount $16 Euros for Seniors

You need a QR to get in to te boat, they only send you a confirmation number
The meeting point is not very clear once you are at the address that the email confirmation says. I tried to talk with the people from the company and they said that I needed a QR code to get in on the boat, something that you don’t get, you only get a confirmation number and they say this is not enough. I had to call customer service since we lost one of the boat that we were planning to take and this messed up a bit our schedule. The customer service agent was telling to go to a specific place with a specific person but this is not very helpful when you are talking through the phone. At the end the staff for the company felt pity for us and he let us go to the boat without a QR code.

Very unpleasant service. We were with 8: one forgot a hardcopy of his passport, so could not join (fully our own mistake). However, this would not have been a problem if the activity would have started on time rather than half an hour earlier so that we could collect the passport. Further, the activity finished after 1:15 hours; where 2 hours is offered. Service was unfriendly, activity was ok, although safety is not always guaranteed (100km/h in a kart on public roads). Not suitable for tall people.
