After two weeks of travelling and experiencing the culture and history of this beautiful country, our last day was empty of excursion. So my son did a little research and found this option, we all said yes, so we booked a session.
Now I am no where an artist and when the broken bowl was placed in front of me, I was nervous, but the most relaxed & patient teacher talked us all through each step to put together our own unique souvenir.
During our experience, the history was explained and the experience was more appreciated.
100% recommended if you want to truly experience what Japan is about

Not easy to find the place. The lady instructor was great, but her English was just the basic and our additional questions remained not answered. But we were satisfied.

In Japan, in ancient times, repairing broken pottery with gold was considered an art. Not only for the technique implemented, known as Kintsugi, but also for the devotion and time the task demanded. I´ve been to Tokyo a couple of months ago - in October to be precise. One of the places I longed to go was a pottery workshop, located in Omotesando, in order to experience Kintsugi. The teachers were very cool, and patient. They provided me with all the materials, and told me how to proceed step by step, in order to achieve a great result. However, only one spoke English. But, not matter that, in spite of that, I could repair the item of pottery (a small tray) I was given. As a gift, the teachers gave me a beautiful and delicate packaging for my repaired pottery, and after a couple of pictures, I headed back to the hotel, located in Asakusa. An unforgettable experience, 100% recommended!

All the write ups I had seen about this place and the website were a bit too vague for my liking, but as we were go

Better living conditions for the animals. The small cages the otters and chinchillas were kept in are horrible.
