About
You will experience three Japanese traditional cultures - Tea Ceremony, Flower Arrangement, and Calligraphy - in one day. SASAGIRIAN is the only facility where you can experience all of these three Japanese cultures in one place and in one day in Okinawa. You will learn the history and manners of each culture from our experienced instructors. By wearing a simple kimono, you will write Japanese letters with a Japanese brush, have Japanese and Okinawan sweets and make macha green tea, and finally arrange tropical flowers and plants. If you come to Japan, why don't you spend a special day to feel Japanese culture at SASAGIRIAN? Each experience is available in English and Japanese. You will learn about the spirit of Zen and Japanese culture in the Japanese traditional room in Onna Village in Okinawa.

- X7877SGdavids0 contributionsTraditional Tea CeremonyThe traditional tea ceremony was nothing less than the most meaningful experience of a lifetime. I have never participated in something so intentional and beautiful. The tea master and interpreter are excellent teachers, and very clearly conveyed to our four person party, the importance of each individual part of the process. I recommend this to anyone and everyone who is interested in learning the art of a beautiful piece of history and culture.Written 29 June 2024
- H5658JZmichellel0 contributionsProfessionally Articulated Tea Ceremony for 2For our first time tea ceremony experience m, you could tell how well our tea master enjoyed her craft. Professional, friendly, accommodating and kind. Even though they didn’t have a kimono big enough to fit my friend they compensated us with over the top service and hospitality. Properly demonstrated explaining every step of the way why tea ceremonies are performed in such intricate detailed fashion. Great learning experience. Loved the small group size just my friend and me.Written 22 April 2024
- Tour413112628980 contributionsAmazing Tea Ceremony Experience! This was a fantastic experience! The place was beautiful. The Ms Sonoko and Namiko were professional, responsible, friendly and warm! They helped us to wear kimonos, took pictures and guided us step-by-step with simple and clear instructions. I have an unforgettable experience in Okinawa. I highly recommend this. 💯💯Written 24 March 2024
- TravelingFromVegas0 contributionsYou want culture? This is the place to go in Okinawa! The cultural experience was incredible! The woman shown in the photographs was our cultural guide and we had an English interpreter, both of whom where friendly and wonderful to be with. After being dressed in kimono, we witnessed the intricacies of a formal tea ceremony, with tons of details about what we saw and what we were doing (mimicking the cultural guide). I am delighted that this was available and we loved being exposed to all this!Written 18 October 2023
- jbsears0 contributionsAuthentic and fun Totally worth it.This was a great experience and worth the price. It was authentic, educational, experiential, and fun. The people providing the experience were very warm, knowledgeable, and friendly, especially with my 5 year old and 2 year old. They provided kimonos, took pictures, walked us through an actual ceremony, and taught us each step of the way how to do the various movements as well as the meaning behind each element and gesture. I would highly recommend this. It was worth the price.Written 27 April 2023

The Sando experience was truly remarkable. Each detail was laid out so nicely and my friend and I throughly enjoyed each element. The calligraphy was very interesting and the instructor was patient and kind. I have done two other tea ceremonies in the past, but this tea ceremony provided an experience unlike any other. The entire ceremony, from the cleansing, to crawling through the tearoom entrance, to pouring our own water from a traditional kettle to make Matcha tea…it was something I will remember forever! The flower arranging was also very interesting and I learned so much about the Japanese style of flower arranging. I highly recommend the full Sando experience and would love to bring any guests we may have here to enjoy it as well.

I joined my colleagues recently for a wonderful " Sando" tea ceremony.
We were guided from the beginning to the end by a team of true professionals.
I believe anyone who is visiting Okinawa and would like to feel immersed into Japanese culture then this activity is a must.
Thank you again for a memorable experience
