About
Yoshino, famous for its cherry blossoms, is also the birthplace of a mystic religion called Shugen-do that draws elements from Buddhism, Shintoism, and animism. While walking through this temple town you might be able to see practitioners clad in their peculiar costumes and hear the sound of the giant conch being blown.
The three fierce-looking main statues of Zao-do Hall are exhibited only for a limited period of time a year in spring and in fall. We can look at them really closely and in peace and quiet.
Moreover we will visit a sweets shop that makes a special kind of sweet typical of this region and the gorgeous room where emperors ruled from 1336 to 1392.
Nature, culture, and history all come together in this exciting and extraordinary tour that will give you new insights into Japan.

- cdesario0 contributionsUnforgettable Kyoto Tour with a Great Guide! Our Kyoto tour was an absolute delight, thanks to our guide, Masa, who had impressive historical knowledge and a charming personality. Her thoughtfulness stood out, especially in preparing two IC cards, which covered our metro travel expenses. The sights were breathtaking, with Nijo Castle being a particular highlight. An unforgettable experience in Kyoto! Highly recommend!Written 4 November 2024
- jorgeef9310 contributionsGreat First Time Tour of KyotoHighly recommend booking a guided tour, this one in particular, to anyone visiting Kyoto for the first time. Transportation can be tricky in Kyoto; we had to hop on multiple trains and buses to get to the different temples. It helps a lot to have someone who knows how to move around the city. Our guide was great and very friendly. We got to beat the crowds and cram a lot into one morning: Inari shrine, Kinkakuji, Arashiyama bamboo forest. The tour was informative, if anything a bit light on historical details, but still good enough for a first time tour of the city. Lastly, we ended the tour in Arashiyama instead of being guided back to our original starting point of Kyoto Central Station. After eating, we visited the monkey park nearby, which I think was worth the visit.Written 28 October 2024

- D3056VXnancyr0 contributionsYoshiko ~ Best tour guideYoshiko was the best guide! She was knowledgeable about the history of each of the three places we visited which were the Torii gates, the Golden Temple and the Bamboo Forest. We were able to see 3 of the places we had on our list all in one day. Yoshiko was especially helpful in helping us figure out which train to take the following day and helped us reserve our seats. We were so grateful for her kindness and assistance! Ask for her when you book this excellent tour!!Written 30 September 2024

- 16madelines0 contributionsGreat sightseeing, fewer crowdsHisashi was a great guide! We were glad to visit some of Kyoto's most prominent tourist attractions before the crowds (and heat) became overwhelming. He helped us navigate the transit system and offered some helpful info about the places we were seeing. We'd recommend this tour to those looking to avoid the crowds.Written 13 September 2024

- 700carly0 contributionsGreat Kyoto early bird tourWe met Hisashi at Kyoto station the morning of our tour and he was waiting for us with our name on a sign, as expected. He toured us around the 3 sites as advertised and gave us very good information. He also answered all our questions very well. He’s a nice, knowledgeable and gentle person. We truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend!Written 6 July 2024

It made me wish our group was staying for more time! Going early in the morning was 100% worth it! Satomi-San made our tour 100000x more enjoyable she was patient, kind, accommodating and had great recommendations. As someone who grew up in Kyoto she has tons of knowledge and unique insights. - colleenb5910 contributionsWe saw sooo much!Excellent tour but be ready to walk! Thank goodness we started early. Saw the Inari shrine, the thousand torii, the golden temple, the bamboo forest and the beautiful river gorge! I would have never been able to pack this all into one AM with out the expertise of the amazing tour guide, Miho!! She was exceptional! And her historical knowledge of each location really enhanced the experience. This was our top tour while in Japan! Great bang for your buck!! But bring extra cash! Miho has you going to so many places that the metro fees and entrance fees add up.Written 10 June 2024
- Road074281303910 contributionsExcellentIt has been a excellent and productive day and it’s all thanks to Tomoko who accompanied me from Kyoto station to Nara where I visited the amazing 8 th capital which was wonderful than to temple and shrines and thanks to Tomoko again who took time out to accompany to inari shrines which was mesmerising. Tomoko is very knowledgeable and at every point she explained about the Japanese culture and deity’s and their significance. A great learning experience I must say. I highly recommend Tomoko for this tours and definitely I’m coming back. Thanks Arigato gozaimashitaWritten 16 May 2024
- atc250 contributionsComprehensive TourKyoto has a lot of attractions (thousands of temples and hundreds of shrines) so you are faced with the problem of what to visit if you have limited time. It was great to see a one-day tour which would visit our musts in our Kyoto list: Fushimi Inari, the Golden Pavilion, Arashiyama bamboo grove, Ryoan Ji and Gion. We had a fantastic licensed guide, Noriko, who provided the needed context to the sites we visited. Her pacing was perfect. We covered all the stops in the itinerary and had fun experiencing public transportation (combination of subways, trams and taxi) in Kyoto. We would have wasted a lot of time going on our own and missed learning the interesting histories and backgrounds of the sites we visited. Thank you Noriko for an enjoyable and thorough tour!Written 15 May 2024
- 445patriced0 contributionsGreat day and great tourThis tour was amazing. Tomoko was very knowledgeable of Japanese history and she was very accommodating to my husband who has a bad knee. I guess our favorite part of the day was the Todai.Ji temple and all the deer. We also loved walking through the old town and learning more about the traditional architecture.Written 14 May 2024
