Our tour operator Oscar was fantastic. Gave us a lot of info on the way, stopped at the fruit stand , monkey park, and coffee farm. He was knowledgeable and very accommodating. Even stopped at my request to taste coconut water on the roadside. Had a good lunch
The tour itself was not good value for money. The sky tram was a good short ride but a wait of almost an hour between the tram ride and walking bridge with nothing to do. The Sky tour operator who did these tours then took us on the walking bridges. I had expected to be shown a lot of wildlife but the guide did not use binoculars or any extra effort to show anything special. We saw a few hummingbirds and some local.flora. we could have easily gone on our own and seen these ourselves. Another long bus ride back to San Jose. Dinner is not offered in this tour and we reached around 7.30 pm.
The Selvatura tour has more options as some locals told us and wish we had known of it before.

This trip was with the guide Fernando. It was by far much more involved than I expected. He was very prepared, and we learned a lot about Costa Rica. Of all the trips I've taken, he put the most energy into talking to our group and explaining things. We learned about exports, and were able to sample seasonal fruit at a fruit stand. That experience will stick with me, because everything I tried was so flavorful, unlike produce we have in the USA. I wasn't interested in fruit stands before, because I didn't realize how good it all was supposed to actually taste. The monkey stop was quite a treat as well. It was nice having a local guide in Monteverde. We saw so many animals that I probably would have otherwise missed.

Oscar was an excellent tour guide and made sure we had an informative, safe, and fun visit. The stops along the way to the park were great and while the drive is long this helped to make it fun. The sky bridges are spectacular and it’s a beautiful hike. The tram is also very unique and beautiful and worth the extra few dollars. A great way to spend the day!

The excursion to monteverde is something I would recommend to everyone. Seeing the cloud forest along with walking through the hanging bridges was a memorable experience. Lunch was also great and getting to see the monkeys was a cool experience. All of our tour guides were amazing and had so much knowledge. Specifically Juan, who also happened to be our driver. He drove very safe and then would share knowledge of the towns/places we drove through. He made a pit stop that wasn’t part of the excursion but was very kind enough to stop and let us buy some coffee since we got picked up so early in the am. Juan shared some recommendations with us and took us to some stops like souvenir shops and an awesome fruit stand. We got to know Juan and felt very safe to be around him. He’s got a very personable attitude and is so easy going. You can ask him anything and he’ll answer it. Juan was probably the best part of the excursion and I’m so glad I got to meet him and know him.

We took the tour with Juan, who was very friendly and patient with us. The tour started with us visiting the elusive capuchin monkeys, and for lunch we went to a restaurant that served great casado. My favorite part was visiting the Sky Adventures Park— taking the hanging bridges tour with a guide is a must. Such a good way to experience Monteverde!

We stopped at a local restaurant for breakfast (not included in tour price) and the food was good. Then we drove the rest of the way to Monteverde to experience a short hike in the forest with a guide. After that, we took the SkyTram which provided a great view of Monteverde! This was our second time having Francisco as a tour guide and he didn’t disappoint. He made extra stops for us at supermarkets and at a local bar to try Chili Water (not promised in the trip). We had a great time and would happily recommend this tour to anyone staying in San José!

Our trip to Monteverde was unlike anything I had ever experienced. This is an absolute must-see if you are planning a trip to Costa Rica. This particular tour company is incredible - very prompt pre-trip communication, great vehicles, wonderfully planned activities, and top notch guides (thus was our 3rd trip with them). Our guide Omar was very warm, friendly and funny. The monkeys are not to be missed, the food was fantastic, and Monteverde itself can only be described as magical. Don't miss this one!

Francisco was an amazing tour guide. He took us to all these amazing spots such as the largest fruit stand for breakfast which has so many delicious foods, then for lunch this delicious traditional Costa Rican restaurant. He was super knowledgeable about all the animals and places of Costa Rica which made the tour that much more enjoyable. We also stopped and got to feed the white face monkey. Overall it was such a fun tour to go on the sky tram and experience the different microclimates as well as walking the hanging bridges and seeing all the beautiful greenery and insects/animals that Costa Rica has to offer. Highly recommend to anyone and thanks to Francisco for being a key part in making this tour great!

Literally so amazing. I thought it was going to be just there and back to the cloud forest but you actually got way more than that!!! We hit a huge fruit stand where you could grab a snack or coffee since it started quite early, fed monkeys, visited a coffee farm where we had a delicious lunch (i recommend the iced coffee) and hit a gorgeous vista overlooking the valley all before the main event!! 10/10 recommend. Our tour guide, Oscar Ford, was incredible. It was definitely a full day trip but so incredibly rewarding. If you do one thing in Costa Rica, do this.

The Monteverde area is gorgeous, and the views from the Sky Tram & Hanging Bridges were stunning. Would like to go back next time for the Ziplining, which looked much longer & steeper than those in Arenal. Would probably stay there overnight to reduce the commute time during a single day.
Our guide, Francisco, did everything in his power to make the day a success despite suffering a flat tire early on that delayed our start by 1.5 hours. Appreciate his positive attitude & friendliness.
