The safari will take you on a short game drive through the wilds of Yala. With a variety of natural habitation types and their rich ecology, you will not lack wonders to feast your eyes upon. From elephants to leopards, and from crocodiles to sea birds, you will be able to immerse yourself in experiencing the sensations of raw nature with all the proper safety measures. You will be travelling in a rough terrain (4WD) game vehicle. About the Park: Yala National Park occupies a large space on the South Eastern coast of Sri Lanka, from Okanda to Hambantota. The history of the area extends up to several centuries ago with the area being mentioned as having been abandoned three centuries before due to ‘insalubrious conditions’ according to a 16th century Spanish cartographer Cipriano Sanchez. This may have been due to the swamps and dangerous animals in the region that caused various diseases that were untreatable at the time.

          An amazing elephant experience
We had the most wonderful time on the Elephant safari. Lakpura Leisure went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary. Our guide Asela was very knowledgable and ensured that we had the best experience seeing the elephants. We couldn’t have asked for better, thank you :)

          Stunning train ride
Chunugu from Mahawala tours got me on the right train/seat for a brilliant train ride with stunning scenery. Great trip. He collected me at Nanu Oya for the rest of the drive, no problems. Would have liked to have spent more time in Nuwara Eliya & if I had of done a little more research & asked I'm sure I could have, so no fault of Chunuga. Nice tea factory on the way back. Good use of limited time for a trip into the hills.

          Elephants galore!
What a fantastic place to visit. We saw so many elephants, at least 40 and all were close enough that if you only have your phone for photos then it would be enough to get great shots. Whilst the elephants were the highlight we also saw buffaloes, jackal, mongoose, monitor lizards, black necked hare, kingfishers, bee eaters, peacocks (which are everywhere), spotted deer, crocodile, fruit bat, parakeets, minor birds, frogs, jungle fowl (the national bird), painted storks, pond herons and numerous other birds. We were picked up and dropped off at our accommodation and the safari jeep was ideal for a great view of the wildlife.

Very nice ride and views. Sometimes packed with a lot of people “fighting” for the best photo but a very nice experince after all.

          Transfer to hotel
Good transfer service. Driver waiting for me with signage making it easy to find him. Really appreciated having this service scheduled so I didn’t have to worry about a thing upon arrival.

          Great tour.
The trip was great and the tour guide was excellent. He was very patient with us and took us to some amazing spot. A hill top viewing platform trip by safari jeeps was the highlight. The tour guide was my wife’s official photographer. We have some amazing photos to cherish.

          Amazing Private Safari
Most amazing experience ever! It’s great to see the animals in their natural habitat! All the people working there were extremely friendly and they provided a lot of additional information about the animals! Also they pick you up from your hotel which is super convenient! Highly recommend ☺️

          Great tour
This was a great little tour. Shirat gave me a little history lesson along with answering all my questions about Unesco & how restorations were happening. He took me to places I might not have found on my own & he runs a pleasant liitle tea shop too. A true local.

          Amazing views
Slow train ride through beautiful countryside. Views amazing. Train was quite empty when I travelled maybe lucky. I was in 3rd class. Maybe go in second class for a more comfortable seat.

          A very enjoyable train ride.
My husband and I had a lovely trip on the Amtrak train Blue Water from Flint, Michigan to Milwaukee - via Chicago. The ride was great, and smooth - we had Red Coat assistance in Chicago, helping my 80 year-old husband. The trains were very clean, modern, comfortable. The Chicago to Milwaukee is a commuter train, also very comfortable, clean, with professional staff assisting. And they were on time! there was assistance at the doors to the trains for those who needed it. My husband says that the best part of our trip to Michigan and Wisconsin was the train ride.

          Travel down memory lane
The tour itself was educational. Got to know a lot on the history of Sri Lanka thanks to the guide Ashan - who is amazing. Enjoyed the bike ride, as Ashan fit to my needs overall.

Great, we saw a lot of elephants. Good communication before the journey. He picked us at the bus and drop off at the hotel (we paid for that).
