Choose between two tours on offer—the see-it-all or a sunset tour—and meet your pilot and helicopter at Marathon Airport, located along the Overseas Highway in the city of Marathon
The “see everything” helicopter tour gives you an amazing view of Marathon all the way to the famous Seven Mile Bridge while learning about the storied history of the beautiful Florida Keys. Swoop down toward the clear blue water and check out the variety of marine wildlife below—like stingrays, dolphins, and sharks—plus the coral reefs just below the surface. Then it’s on to historic Pigeon Key, a small island that’s home to eight buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The island was originally known as “Cayo Paloma” (translated as Pigeon Key), named for large flocks of the white-crowned pigeons that once roosted there.
Take a journey to the stunning waters and beaches surrounding Bahia Honda State Park and Spanish Harbor Key, on the approach to Big Pine Key. Pass over the historic Sombrero Key Light, located near Key Vaca. This unique, cast iron lighthouse is located on a mostly submerged reef, 50 miles northeast from Key West. There are also the small islands of Money Key and Little Duck Key with Hawks Cay Resort.
For the sunset tour, fly over the blue waters and picturesque islands of the Florida Keys just as the sun is setting below the horizon. Watch the sky change colors and see dolphins and turtles swimming in the sea beneath you.
Both tours end with a flight back to the Florida Keys Marathon Airport.
