          AMAZING TOUR with Takao Kawanabe
We had a great time with Takao and saw the fish market. He explained all the history of it and offered suggestions on what to snack on while walking around. After that we went to walk around a beautiful garden where we had a sweet and matcha tea. He reminded us to take pictures and took excellent ones of us. Then we went to the Asakusa area and walked all around. He helped me find a mochi sweet shop I was hunting from Instagram. He asked around and found it. We were so happy! He also took us to an excellent sushi restaurant and then have us a beautiful gift handmade gift from his wife. It felt like I was walking with an uncle of mine getting to know the city. He made the walking tour very nice. He made sure we did everything we wanted to do and kept us on schedule. I highly suggest a tour with him.

Amazing Kamakura and the feel of Shonan!!!
Kamakura is a must-visit town for any foreign visitor coming to Japan and it can be easily reached from Tokyo on a 60-mn train journey. Very convenient especially if you are JR Pass holder. We started the journey with our guide, who was waiting for us @the lobby of our hotel and kindly guided us through the bustling morning Japanese metro system. Visiting Kamakura was like going through different emotions and living exceptional experiences depending on the sites visited. The Hase-Dera temple, Kotokuin area, the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu temple and the Kamakura street market (where original flavoured peanuts were sold like those strawberries, mulberries, okonomyaki, wasabi, takoyaki flavours) were amazing venues that have their own spirit and atmosphere and imprint unforgettable memories on the visitors. Our guide helped us to know more about the religious, political and social history of Kamakura. We hope to be back again in the fulture to explore more the seaside and spend one day @Kamakura. Thank you so much to our guide who was very kind and helpful (she guided us through the Toranomon Hills metro station after the end of our tour) and professional. Best wishes to her.

          Mount Fuji tour
It is a shame we only went up to fifth level of mount Fuji. But for those not good with high altitude this is amazing experience. The people of Japan are so helpful and always willing to help. Amazing trip and will do it again this time to go right up to the too of mount Fuji.

          Stunning.......but Join the queue
Stunning temple seemingly suspended in a perfect setting....however Japan has a terrible problem; the “tourist trudge”. Yes, I’m one of them, but when I pay so much to visit all these wonderful heritage sights, I expect some crowd control, both quality (spitting, pushing, shouting, littering, the ubiquitous selfie stick) and quantity; (hundreds of coaches, so many bodies crushed into one space, no sense of the spiraling destruction of this experience). As ever, no other language interpretation, so much of the nuance is lost. I’ve chosen not to go to several sites in Kyoto after hearing reports of poorly managed crowds....it’s like the Sistine, I don’t think it’s entirely driven by greed, just a failure to make policy to curtail the unsustainable “box ticking” visitors who have no real appreciation or desire to understand theses ethereal spaces and places...

          Individualized itinerary
I planned out what exactly we wanted to do in the time we had, and the guide was happy to oblige. Our guide was great, as was his English. He took us everywhere we planned, which saved a ton of time for us to navigate all the different areas of Tokyo. The company, not the guide, needs to work on lunch program. The cost for the day extremely pricey so there should be at least a minimum amount of yen the guides know they should spend; they have no idea what we spend. I am not sure I would spend the entire day again due to cost and value. I think I would do a half day.

Excellent tour guide with great knowledge of sites and their history
Our tour guide, Hiro, had a vast amount of knowledge to share. When we first met him, he asked us what our main interest in the sites was, and we told him the history. He tailored his tours to the history of both locations, and he knew a lot of interesting facts and stories. Very nice tour!

Glad We Booked This at the Begining of Our Trip to Tokyo
We booked this walking tour for the morning after we arrived in Tokyo as a way to get a better lay of the land. We’re so glad we did, because it made us feel more comfortable navigating the remainder of our trip on our own, and we went back to certain spots we wanted to check out further later that week. Five hours was perfect, since we knew we’d be jet-lagged. Plus, the tour hits some great highlights of Tokyo. Our tour guide, Takao, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and he was very accommodating of our requests to linger longer in some spots. Overall, we’re very glad to have booked this private walking tour!

          Best guide to Tokyo
Yuuko (Anji) was a fantastic guide who went above and beyond to make it a great tour, suitable for adults and kids alike. It was a fantastic introduction to the city and she put together a wonderful annotated picture library for us as a souvenir. There was a lot of walking but rest breaks made it well paced unlike other private tours - highly recommended!

          Great guide - Yuuko
there were four of us on a private tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We walked and took the subway, which was fun in itself. Yuuko took pictures of us at all of our stops and then sent us the pictures along with the personal detail of our tour. We only had a short time in Toyko and we hit a good number of the spots to give us a great taste of the city. Highly recommend.

Nijo & Golden Temple by public bus
Please be aware that this tour is a walking tour with transportation by public bus. You must pay ¥690 (US$6) in bus fares for each member of your group and this includes your guide's bus fare. Not sure why they didn't include this in the price. Buy a 24hr bus pass to save time and money. The two sites visited were spectacular and the guide was excellent. The tour was a private tour so only those in your party attend. We did two tours on this trip and both guides were retired Japanese men in there 70s. We were surprised to have guides of such an age however they were both very good.

          What an education ..thanks Hiroki
My tour with Hiroki was so thorough. Before the personalized tour, he asked me what I have already seen and what I'm interested in. He catered the tour, accordingly and even had a documented itinerary minute by minute to ensure I got to my night time destination timely. I learned a lot about the history of Tokyo and was very pleased in every manner. Hiroki was very genuine and even adjusted the lunch plans for a seafoodless meal (in tsujki market) and the chicken place was absolutely amazing. Thanks again Hiroki!

          Hakone Tour
I took the private customised your of hakone area. The good 1. Very nice guide . Friendly and knowledgeable. 2. With small children, itinerary was manageable - beautiful and serene. The bad - 1. Please note that the travel costs are completely additional. The cost charged by Viator ($467) is purely for the guide - pick up and accompanying. Additional cost of $65 per person is needed for the trip travel costs. So all in all, it cost me close to $800 for this tour. If you are travelling without kids, just booking the travel and ship and ropeway online would cost you only $45 per person( no need for romance car which is $20 additional).

          Interesting and educational
We had a very interesting visit to Kamakura. This is a nice day trip to see the Japanese people, traditions and culture outside Tokyo. A wonderful day.

          Make sure you.....know your booking..
Tsukiji market is amazing ( seen on previous visit) and so is Hamarikyu Garden. , Unfortunately, we did this on our own but hoped to have a private tour this time around, but due to changes beyond our control = weather, and booking changes made by the local agent it didn't happen. The local agent called our hotel on Friday evening to cancelled the tour for Saturday, due to an impending storm on Saturday. Initially, I agreed, since, I thought the guide understood we had another scheduled appointment on the same day (Monday) in a different area (Ginza) at 11am a different prefecture (area) from where he was gong to leave us. The local guide said " no need to worry", he would delete the water bus trip to Asakusa to make the tour fit into a lesser time schedule. After checking with our concierge at the hotel regarding distance and time, they said I would be late or very rushed to get from one place to another. Hence, I notified via email on Saturday Trip Advisor to cancelled the tour for Monday, since local numbers are not supplied and you are required to cancel online. Trip Advisor's initial email received 7/28 said our email was received and credit would take a few days. Then on Monday at 3am the day of the tour, Trip Advisor, advised ME to contact the local agent - a local phone number was provided at that time to contact. NEEDLESS to say, I called at 7:30am that morning left a message, no call back. At 8am I had the hotel concierge call and I was connect to an agent at the agency. He said he would have to call me back. He phoned later and informed me the tour guide was on his way to the hotel. I don't know if it was a language barrier with the local agent, but he seemed to think that I was concerned about the cost and he said I would be charged less because of only doing 1/2 the scheduled tour. HE didn't get I WANTED TO CANCEL the entire tour for credit because of other plans and that the tour guide said he would shorten the tour to make it fit. REGARDLESS of following the rules, I was charged the full fee and only the partial refund was issued for the cutting out the Water Bus Trip to Asakusa . SO BEWARE, if you have scheduled several different tours. Don't be swayed, you can always re-book later because the consequence are costly.
