Great info, great food!
Mar 2020 • Couples
We had the pleasure of doing the Asakusa food tour with a lovely tour guide, Giulia. She was delightful, showing us around the area, teaching us how to eat the foods, and just chatting with us. The food was also delicious! Afterwards, she gave us a list of the places we'd been and a much longer list of her food recommendations in the city, separated by types of food. She gave thoughtful descriptions of each place so we know what to expect. This was the perfect way to start off our trip to Japan and we are so excited to check out some of the other spots!

Absolutely Loved our Food Tour!
Feb 2020 • Couples
We went on a food tour with Amanda and had the best time. She was so knowledgeable and took us to the most amazing restaurants! We were able to try so many different things and she answered all our questions about the food, the city, and the culture. After the tour ended, she emailed us with nearly 20 recommendations of other spots around the city to try. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Go hungry!
Dec 2019 • Solo
Just completed a gastronomically fantastic tour with Giulia. She was so informative, curious, and answered so many questions as we hopped from sushi to soba noodles/tempura and beyond. I highly recommend this tour to foodies as a wonderful introduction to the Asakusa area of Tokyo.

Perfect introduction to japanese food and local delicacies
Nov 2019
We booked on to the group tour but were lucky enough to have Amanda all to ourselves. We were a group of myself, my partner and step-son. We are a quiet, reserved bunch so it was lovely to have such a chill and happy character in Amanda who put us at ease straight away. She displayed a range of knowledge not just on Japanese food, but the culture, language and history. We all absolutely loved the tour, the food and the experience. Amanda checked with us if we had any intolerances/dislikes and then she went ahead and ordered/bought at each location on our behalf. She explained various rituals and customs of how dishes are eaten. So glad we booked this tour, it was a memory we will never forget.

Excellent Food Tour
Oct 2019
We went on a wonderful private food tour with Ninja food tours. Our guide, Giulia, took us to some fascinating places which we definitely wouldn't have been able to find ourselves. She was very knowledgeable and informative and answered all our questions.

It was a memorable event and thoroughly recommended.

The perfect way to start our trip
We did a walking food crawl tour with Giulia (sp?) today. It was a fantastic way to get to know the Asakusa area and some of the different kinds of food available. We had 5 in our party: myself, my husband, my sons ages 7&10 and my mom who is almost 70 and in good walking shape. My boys are fairly adventurous eaters. We walked around the Sensoji shrine for about an hour before we met up with Giulia. She was easy to find, and so very knowledgeable about both our food questions and our culture and recommendations questions. The way the tour was laid out was lovely and well paced, and we certainly tried food I may not have chosen on my own, just because it wasn’t obvious to me what it was by looking, but it was all delicious and high quality. The sushi was probably my favorite- just melted in your mouth! My boys liked the soba/tempura stop. Really, a lovely way to spend a day exploring and getting oriented to our first trip to Japan, while being able to ask a resident some of our questions. Highly recommend!

Come hungry!
Oct 2019
Yuma did a great job showing us the great food available in Asakusa, which can be a bit of a tourist trap. It was nice to see the quieter part of it and then end up at the temple. Very knowledgeable guide and I'm so glad I did this to end my week in Tokyo. I feel like I tried a lot of things that I wouldn't otherwise have ordered. Delicious! But come hungry, there's a LOT to try! Highly recommended.

A real treat
Nathan was a kind, considerate and most knowledgeable host. We loved our food tour of this old traditional part of Tokyo. The food was delicious - and the portions totally appropriate. Nathan answered all our questions, and was a most interesting companion. We would recommend this tour highly - and we are older travellers, not quite as fit as we used to be! Thank you very much.

An excellent start to our long weekend in Tokyo
Sep 2019 • Family
Having never been to Tokyo before we felt we should jump right in and sample the food. We did this with a 2.5 hour Ninja tour and were not disappointed. Amanda, our tour guide was excellent at telling us about the local area, culture, people, language and of course food. Our 8 year old son had a good time too sampling food he would not necessarily choose for himself. Thank you
