    Bright Angel Trail
    Stop: 6 hours
Bright Angel Trail offers a wealth of day hiking opportunities on this tour! The trail switchbacks down from the South Rim Village to Mile and a Half Rest House, then 3 Mile Rest House, then Indian Garden at 4.5 miles and Plateau Point at 6 miles. So this tour can be done as a 3-mile, 6-mile, 9-mile, or 12-mile round trip hike. For ambitious travelers, Plateau Point (12 miles round trip) offers the most "bang for the buck" with stunning views of the Inner Gorge and the Colorado River. Indian Garden (9 miles round trip) is another excellent longer option with a shaded oasis with a spring-fed creek for a picnic lunch. And for less ambitious travelers, Mile and a Half and 3 Mile rest houses offer fantastic hikes.

Amazing trip our guide Tolman was the best! He made the trip even more special with his incredible cooking skills, knowledge of the canyon, and great stories. My daughter, 14, and I had the best time. Thank you Tolman and Wildland Trekking. Bill

Exceeded expectations!
Jul 2021 • Couples
Our day hike with Chris delivered more than we expected. He was engaging and informative and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience around the Grand Canyon including taking the time to prepare lunch for us. We appreciated the hiking and the conversation! Great day.

Great hike - with Chris E. as a guide even better!
Jun 2021
Great first hike in Grand Canyon. Our guide was Chris E, who was fabulous. He answered all of our dumb questions, was extremely knowledgeable, and had his eye on safety the whole time. We hiked in the midst of an extreme heat wave and he was very accommodating with water and carrything things that became to uncomfortable for us. If you get Chris as you're guide, you are in luck! He brought us to a great lunch spot on the trail and served us fruit, brie, and candied bacon. I mean, WOW!

Best experience ever!

If I could give this company more than 5 stars, I would. Shayne was our guide and he was more than wonderful. First, he communicated with us prior to our trip via email and text, letting us know what to expect, what to bring and to answer our questions. On the day of the hike, we had several morning mishaps that caused us to be late - we were doing a private hike so thankfully we weren’t inconveniencing any other guests. Shayne was patient, understanding and flexible. Once we got started, he moved at our pace, pointed out all the wonderful things on the trail, took our pictures, took breaks when we needed and told us all about the Grand Canyon both the rim and the bottom. He was also a pleasure to be around - just an all around nice guy. He brought us snacks and a fabulous lunch - amazing sandwiches, chips, cookies. He also had a remote special place off the trail for lunch. I highly recommend this company if you want to hike the Bright Angel Trail. Ask for Shayne if you can. We will definitely try to hike with him again when we return to the Grand Canyon. Thank you!

My son and I did the Rim to Rim Winter Hike, a six day five night experience The weather was fabulous! A group of six including our guide , Moshe.
This was my first time backpacking. Wildlands did a great job preparing me for the trip in letting me know what to expect.
Moshe was very experienced and professional.
I would highly recommend this trip if you want to explore the canyon.
Beware that this is a physically and mentally challenging trek. It is equally rewarding!

Day hiking the Bright Angel Trail
Oct 2020
My son (15) and I hiked the Bright Angel Trail down to the 3 mile rest stop with Shayne. He was an engaging, informative and fun guide and we highly recommend him. Many people elect to hike the trail by themselves. I would recommend considering highering a guide as the history, wildlife and unique formations are easy to miss without a guide. We felt having a guide was well worth the financial investment.

It's a great hike
Aug 2020
My son and I wanted to do a hike into the canyon and we heard this was one of the more popular hikes. Shayne was awesome. We met at 6am as the canyon was going to be hot as the day wore on. This is a great hike as it allows you to take on a little or a lot. With stopping points at 1.5, 3 and 6 miles. We decided on the 3 mile which gave us a 6 mile round trip. According to my GPS, it is closer to 7.4 though. The hike should not be taken for granted. Going down is easy from the standpoint of endurance, but there are lots of logs and rocks that serve as steps and makes it even more difficult. Coming back up is not for the faint of heart. We were supplied with trekking poles which really help. We both had water camel packs, but Shayne came prepared with everything. He was a non-stop source of information and stories about the canyon. When we finished he provided a great picnic lunch. We plan on going back and doing the overnight version.

Excellent tour with Shayne. Great guide.
Jul 2020
Excellent tour, with our guide Shayne. Everything was well organized and on time. He was equipped for anything. Including the fact that our camera phone went dead. He lent us his and sent us the pictures later.

He packed a lot to bring down the trail. Our food, extra water etc. Very educational and the pace was as we wanted it. Definitely would go with him again for the longer trek.

Just one grip. This is the Grand Canyon and you descend first. So the second half of the trip was all uphill! He didn't tell us that.

We saw a lot we would have never noticed on our own. Great day. Lots of wildlife and great photo stops. We felt safe the whole trip (Covid-wise and Big Cliffs-wise).

Bright Angel guided
Oct 2019
My family (5 of us ages 27-58) enjoyed every minute of our private, guided hike 3 miles down Bright Angel Trail. Our guide Moshe was great. His intimate knowledge of the trail and the canyon made an amazing day even more memorable. Early October turned out to be the perfect time to visit as temps were ideal and the trail was relatively uncrowded.
