- 273caroleb0 contributionsA must do excursion, value for moneyRichard our driver was very friendly, knowledgable and a very good driver avoiding the masses of potholes along the route. He told us a lot about the island without being overly chatty giving us enough time to digest what we had seen and been told. We had enough time at the different locations we were taken to and for lunch he took us to a genuine little Antiguan cafe where we had a delicious meal. The vehicle we travelled in was immaculately clean, very comfy and air conditioned. We would 100% recommend this way to see the sites of the island and when you take into account the length of the trip, the comfort of the vehicle, the driver, entrance to sites and lunch all included in the price it is extremely good value for moneyWritten 8 March 2025

Overall, the tour was nice, but the driver was a little fast/aggressive - which to be fair, seemed to be typical for the island. The van was adequate, but not overly spacious for 7 passengers. It would have been appreciated if the van had a stool for helping folks in and out who needed extra assistance. The included lunch was good. In general, compared to several other tours this same week in the Caribbean (Dominica and St. Kitts), this tour was literally over 3 times the price of the other tours, and was our least favorite of the bunch. It was perfectly fine, but it did not feel "platinum."Written 17 February 2025

He had very good advices and excellent knowledge of the island. He showed us some of the most beautiful spots ans scenic views on the island. The beaches are amazing with crystal clear turquoise water. We definitely wish to come back to Antigua. Thank you Robert for taking such good care of us. Sent a cancellation e-mail and a week later had to resend after no response. They then responded saying they would cancel and refund my payment. Have contacted them 3 more times and STILL NO REFUND OR RESPONSE!!!!!! Cancelled WELL in advance of their no refund policy date! Very poor company if they won't honor their refund policy. A reputable company will have your refund within a week. NOT this company! After a month, I came to the conclusion I was not going to see my refund. Am having to dispute the charge through my credit card company but unsure how that will turn out.Written 2 October 2024
- SmartN010 contributionsA great way to see AntiguaAn excellent day trip and a great way to see the main sites in Antigua. Our guide Rob was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative and arrived promptly at our hotel to pick us up. The tour lasted about 6 hours and included a great lunch at Shirley’s Heights and there were plenty of beverages available throughout the day, including a delicious rum punch. Due to the weather forecast we decided to bring forward our trip by a day and this was easily rearranged. It was lo lovely to have the opportunity to see all parts of the island and we would highly recommend it to other visitors. Thank you Rob for making it a special day.Written 4 July 2024

This was such a wonderful tour! Rob was very attentive. My husband's in a wheelchair and MIL uses a walker
He was so patient with them. He told us all about the beautiful island of Antigua and it's history. We toured the whole island and we wished we could have stayed longer. We would love to come back to this wonderful paradise and spend more time. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to learn and see as much of this island in the short time you get in a Cruise port stop.

We just returned from a fantastic day with Alvin, our guide from VIP. He’s an encyclopedia of knowledge about the island and cultures of the Caribbean, and he kept us totally engaged throughout the tour. It was well paced and covered the whole island, including a stop for a terrific traditional Antiguan meal. Highly recommended!

We took the full day tour with Sean during our cruise stop in Antigua. We had some difficulty figuring out exactly where we were to wait for Sean as there was no sign or obvious place to wait. Tour guides from other companies helped us figure this out and once we connected with Sean we had a wonderful day. We did not book a private tour but it turned out that we had one when the other couple did not show up. Sean was very personable and also so very knowledgeable about and proud of his homeland. He gave us a great history lesson about the country and its independence from Britain. They still drive on the "wrong" side of the road there so that took some getting used to. We hit almost all of the sites we were interested in but due to oppressive traffic jams and a brief afternoon rain, we missed the last two stops, the tropical farm and black pineapple tasting. We were very impressed by Shirley's lookout. The jerk chicken lunch that was included in the price of our tour was really good and we were able to do a little shopping at the tables people had set up out on the patio.We also found Betty's Hope Plantation very interesting. It brought home the reality of the European explorers who "found" these islands and then enslaved both the natives living there and those they brought from Africa. So shameful! I can't imagine a full day tour of the island that would be better than this one. It cost less than the tour offered by the cruise line and was much more inclusive. Take this tour. You won't be sorry.

Firstly thank you for making us your choice and taking time to post a review. We are sorry you had difficulty finding our meeting point. We are happy you enjoyed your tour with us . Antigua is rich in history and we do our best to ensure we share this with our clients as well as the beauty the island has to offer. There's so much to offer but can't be all captured in one day, so we do hope that you would want to return for a longer time where you can more time to explore.

First and foremost, meeting Alvin, is something my husband and I won't soon forget. The incredible knowledge of his island's history, his desire to ensure you have a great experience, and the sheer depth and positivity of his spirit are what made this tour absolutely perfectly. We are better people for having had this opportunity to meet him and to the owners of this company, you are truly blessed to have this man. No other tour could live up to this experience, and days later, I am still telling friends and coworkers about this experience. Send our love to Alvin please! We will be back some day soon!
As for the tour itself, it was just phenomenal. We loved the variety of history, sight-seeing, driving through the many villages on the island, taking in the breathtaking views, and ending the day at a picture perfect beach. Alvin also has a wonderful voice and we were lucky enough to end our tour with him singing for us. We highly recommend this experience and don't forget to show your Antiguan smile!
As for the tour itself, it was just phenomenal. Even though I have had to cancel this small group tour that I put together with other passengers on our planned cruise, I still want to put a review out there for Sean and Kamesha at VIP tours. They have been excellent to communicate with and so responsive. I am definitely going to be contacting them again in the future when we are able to visit Antigua. So many people on the cruise were cautious about booking private tours, but they made it so easy and refunded my deposit immediately when I had to cancel. Hope to see you in the future VIP!
