Great time on e-bikes in Bonaire
EJ was amazing. He greeted us exactly where they said he would be off the cruise ship. He was professional and courteous. He was very informative and put safety at the top of his priorities and took time for the questions we had

          Very good tour
We enjoyed the truer very much with Remi. He was knowledgeable on the history and explained a lot of other things about Bonaire like the growth and industry, etc.. The only negative part was we couldn’t always understand him with his accent.

          Gorgeous overview, great guide
We booked this last minute and were extremely pleased with the quality and the adaptability of our guide Mar. When we told him we had already explored the south part of the island pretty extensively but hadn't seen much of the north, he customized the tour to spend more time up north and took us to some gorgeous places. He had extensive knowledge of the area and the history and adapted what he talked about to what we were interested in (birds, history, and the rum distillery). Highly recommend.

STAN and his trainee (so sorry I forgot her name) from Belgium were AMAZING! So fun, funny and informative. We loved our tour and they gave us so many wonderful glimpses of the best places to go/see while on Bonaire. Great, wholesome people. Great tour.

          Unprofessional - Bonaire Tour Center
I am writing this as a travel agent who booked VIP clients that arrived on 22FEB at Bonaire Airport with prepaid vouchers for Bonaire Tour Center's Private Tour around the island. They were to have been met by "Michelle", but Michelle never showed up. I was able to contact Bonaire Tour Center and was told they were "on the way" however no one ever showed up! I wound up having to book another tour operator who was willing at the 11th hour to do a tour around the island so my clients would not be stranded. If you are thinking of booking Bonaire Tour Center - DON'T!! Never a more unprofessional operator with zero concern for their customers or their own responsibilities.

          Amazing
Bonaire is a beautiful island to visit. The drive was beautiful going North and South. On the drive we stopped at 1000 steps to take some pictures and the colour of the water was so beautiful. Nice blues, light and deep. Along the way we saw some donkeys and beautiful flamingos. Saw the huts or houses where the slave lived and learned some history about the island. Saw the salt hills where all the salt from the water is collected.Water here looked so pink and beautiful. I have never seen pink water, couldn't believe my eyes. Our tour guide Elgin was so nice and knowledgeable about the island and shared with us lots of stories. We were very satisfied with everything. I would definitely recommend to do this tour.

Disappointed - not personalised or as advertised.
We opted for this private, personalised premium price tour as we have a member of our party who has mobility issues so need to be able to go at our own pace and choose our destinations. We are very unsatisfied with this tour and also Tripadvisor’s customer care and response following our complaints. In short - no soft drinks, local snacks or local souvenir offered as advertised - no customisation or asking about what we wanted to see. - very little info on history / culture given although we now have extensive knowledge of the supermarkets on Bonaire, who runs them and relative expense. - when we asked to be taken to a restaurant by a beach admittedly at the end of the tour when we were told we were being taken back to the ship we were told they too far away. A quick google search later confirmed there were options close by. - confusion around the meeting place and pick up time. Other tour operators present tried to help but did not seem to know the company. The latter resulted in a 15% refund direct from tour operator with ‘no need to contact Viator’ although they were informed (according to the email I received) it was because we didn’t get a souvenir. Viator have looked into our complaints but chosen not to uphold them. The whole experience contrasts greatly with other private tours also booked through Viator. Lessons learnt for us include being very clear upfront including pre-arrival what we want to do and expect to see, checking type of vehicle to be provided and also asking sooner if things are missing / not provided.

Four of us were joined by two others and we were driven around the island, stopping off at various points for as long as we wanted. The half day (and more) tour was led by Ephraim who had first hand knowledge of the island having grown up there. Nothing was too much trouble and he even sourced a bowl of iguana soup having enquired into local cuisine as we drove past a restaurant owned by a friend!

My wife and I took this tour with Shekhinah Tours while visiting Bonaire on a cruise ship stop for the day. It was a whirlwind tour that covered both the North and South side of the island where so many other tours cover one or the other. We had a wonderful time and saw so many different parts and aspects of the island (including where locals live, natural flora and fauna, some wildlife such as local birds and iguanas), interesting sites such as beaches made of bits of coral, slave huts, salt flats, a cactus distillery, and Goto Lake where we saw many, many flamingos in their native habitat! We had a nice, small group and she was very helpful and accommodating of all of us and our needs. If you only have part of a day to explore Bonaire this is a great way to see and experience so much of it in a relatively small amount of time! Great value and experience for the money and we would highly recommend them to others!

That means that we have all the time for our guests, and that is why we only do small groups because we do not want any guests to feel left behind. Thanks again for your great review, and thanks for choosing and recommending Shekhinah Tours Be safe for yourself and your family.

We enjoyed this tour of the island. The tour guide was very nice. The minivan we were in needs to be fixed. One door did not open at all and we had to keep adjusting the seats for the back seat passengers every time we made a stop so they could not get out. Pulling the levers and seat took a toll on my back by the end of the tour. We saw many things on the island with the salt mines being my favorite. However, there any many stops listed on the itinerary that we did not make. We chose this tour because we wanted to see the various beaches. Only one was pointed out to us as we drove right past it, Bachelor's beach. The itinerary said we stop for 10 minutes at a few beaches and other locations that we never got to see.
TIPS bring sunscreen, there is a constant wind which prevent you from feeling the heat. There are porto potties at various stops and you have to pay to use them. Wear good walking shoes or sneakers.

Thank you very much for your review and the time you put into it. We are replacing our van with two new ones. But our vans are safe and checked and insured for tourism on Bonaire. All tour companies on Bonaire have to do so because it is required. We are happy you had a great time with your guide, and we hope to see you again soon so you can experience our two new vans. :)

We walked off the ship and they were waiting for us as promised. When we purchased our tickets, it was booked as a small group less than 10. However, our group was with 18-20 people in an older motorcoach. Despite this, the first 2 hours of the tour went fine, though most everywhere we stopped, there were other large motorcoaches from the two cruise ships in port. Our guide spoke excellent English and was pleasant and knowledgeable. After two hours or so, we stopped at Goto Lake to look at the flamingos way off in the distance. At that point, the driver could not get the vehicle started. They said it was going to take 45 minutes or so for a repair vehicle to arrive, plus the remaining half hour back to the port if we skipped the remaining parts of the tour after they got it working. We had 4 people from another ship that would be in danger of missing their ship. Fortunately, another tour bus showed up had room for them in their vehicle and agreed to take them. A very friendly lady showed up in a rental car, and we asked her if she would take us back to the port since it was on her way. She agreed so we rode back to the port with her. I later talked with others who were on the tour, and they said after determining they couldn’t use the broken down vehicle, they did bring two vans out to take the rest of the group back to the ship. So were they accommodating and concerned for us, Yes they were. No one was more than an hour and a half late in getting back to port. They refunded us $10 per person out of the $65 for our inconvenience. We didn’t think that was enough but so be it.
Would I recommend this tour? Not sure. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and concerned for our well being, but our group wasn’t “small,” and the vehicle had mechanical issues. If we would have been in one of their 8 person vehicles it probably would have been an excellent tour.

Hi David, Thank you for your elaborate message. We did indeed update our tour capacity at the start of this year, as our smaller van could no longer be used. We are sorry that our bus broke down, and we did everything in our power to get it fixed and continue the tour. When it became clear this was no possible, we immediately arranged for other companies to help pick up every guests stranded at Gotolake. As the tour was mostly over with just one more stop left, we have provided at 15% refund for all guests. Despite these issues, I do you hope you enjoyed your time on our beautiful island.

We ended up not taking this excursion. There two groups of 4 people going on this excursion. We received many instructions on where to meet, which caused confusion. The original instructions said "Cruise Ship Guests: Your guide will welcome you with your first or last name on a sign in front of the cruise ship exit/entry gate where your ship is docked.
Walking away from your ship, you will approach a security checkpoint gate. When you exit the gate, walk straight forward, and look straight ahead. Your guide will be there 15 minutes before the start of your tour to collect you." There was no one at the security gate, so as directed we continued straight ahead. We finally found our driver approx 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time. He advised that he was called in at the last minute because the original driver was ill. We proceeded to walk with the group to the vehicle. Upon arriving at the vehicle we saw that it was a rental van (we have photos to prove that) and it was a Hyundai mini-van. The 8 people in the group were all older and most had already stated they had conditions that would not allow them to climb into the back, yet we were expected to cram 8 people plus the driver in a mini-van for a 3 hour tour. When we saw that clearly there would not be comfortable space for 9 people, we opted to not go. The driver, as well as the others on the tour agreed that there was not room for all of us. We have done many tours and for a tour for 8 people, we have never been sent to a mini-van. Sadly all comments from the provider of the tour were that it was our fault and they needed to make their money also. Unfortunately, we did not get what we expected, but for my own comfort and piece of mind, I opted out of this tour and would not ever book through them again.

Hi, thank you for your message. We are sorry for this inconvenience. Your original tour guide had a bigger van, but sadly she had fallen ill. Unfortunately, we were unable to use her personal van as well, due to circumstances. We were able to call in another tour guide and rent a slightly smaller van, which was the only one available at that time on such short notice. We did everything we could to let your tour continue, instead of canceling altogether. We are sad that you chose not to continue with the tour, but since it was your decision to cancel within 24 hours' notice, as is our policy, we are unable to provide you with a refund. We do hope that you enjoyed our beautiful island.

Travelling to Bonaire on a cruise ship or for a prolonged visit, get this booked. If you’re on a cruise ship, don’t bother with the ridiculously priced excursion, this trip will have you back in plenty of time.

Our guide Michelle was informative, interesting & had a genuine passion for the role of guide. Had answers to all our questions & nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Michelle.

        Great tour and highly recommended.

Our tour guide, Wim, picked up our group of 4 across from the cruise ship terminal. He took us south to see the salt production on the island and explained the process of how the wind and sun are utilized to extract salt from sea water. We also saw and learned about the the earlier days of salt production and about the lives of the slaves who were involved in the salt production process. We went to the beach and saw the very small slave huts where they slept, 4 in each hut. We then drove towards the north side of the island, with more water and foliage. We saw donkeys and goats roaming freely along the road, and Wim took us to see flamingos in the National preserve. Wim then took us to the top of a hill, overlooking the city, where a shrine with a cross was located, and we had a beautiful view of the city and the ocean. It was a fun tour with a very knowledgeable guide.

My family recently visited Bonaire and took this tour with Jill as our guide. The tour was fantastic and far surpassed expectations. Jill has a great personality and is friendly and thoughtful. She drove us around the whole island, taking us to numbers fantastic, cool and breathtaking points of interest. Some of the highlights were the 1000 steps, lake with flamingos, Cadushy Distillery, and salt flats. We really enjoyed our time with Jill. She was so easy to talk to. She answered all of our questions and told us many great stories. It was an awesome way to visit Bonaire. We felt like we got a great feel for the island and saw much of it on our tour. My family raves about how good the tour was and we still talk about our memories of it and admire the photographs we took there.

My husband and I had a private tour with Shekhinah tours and it was great. The guide was knowledgeable and we did get to see the whole island. However, Bonaire Tours Center sent us a confirmation without mentioning Shekhinah Tours and with phone numbers that noone answered. They sent Shekhinah Tours the wrong name of the people they were supposed to pick up. After talking to each other for a half hour, the guide and my husband and I finally figured out the issue and we ended up having a wonderful tour.

Tour company cancelled tour 45 minutes before scheduled meeting time. If i could give them a ZERO i would. How is it acceptable that they cancel 45 minutes before meeting time, but the customer has to cancel 24 hours in advance. With ZERO explanation as to why they cancelled. DO NOT BOOK
