It was a excellent experience. I learned about the process elaboration of the one of the best Ron of the world. The tour guy gave us a good explication about everything of the factory. I recomend this a 100%.
Had a private tour with wonderful tour guide Junior. He was awesome! Very informative, and interesting. Learned a lot about the making of rum and how the factory has committed to sustainability. Use of solar panels and recycling everything from the used cane stalks for...More

A taxi will be your best bet! The cost saved on taking a bus won’t be worth it. You will have to do a few stops and most likely waste valuable time. If your cruise line offers the excursion you might want to consider it but the cost will be far greater than the private taxi which will be a nice air conditioned van. If you speak Spanish that will help but I would love to recommend a taxi driver who owns a mini van by the name of Antonio Basoro. We have used him for years and always recommend him to our friends. My rough guess at the price would be around $100 US return plus the fee for the rum tour which is somewhere around $15/17 per person. Underage get in free. Always pay the taxi driver when you are returned back to your destination. This guarantees your driver will return back to collect you and your party! I hope this helps you with your plans!,

I think 45 minutes from La Romana is close however from Santo Domingo ferry terminal at the Colonial City I think 1 hour and 45 minutes would be closer to correct and in the DR always allow extra time for travel, good luck.
