About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jane2Review0 contributionsgood experience but not a small groupThe tour overall was enjoyable. The staff were professional and friendly. The day went smoothly starting from the bus pick up, transfer to another bus, arrival at the office, boarding a boat, snorkeling, arrival on the island for the beautiful beach, enjoying a good lunch, seeing sea stars, and returning to the hotel. The only surprise was that instead of 20 passengers in the group as promised in the tour, there were 38 passengers. Thus the boat was packed. There was barely any room for our bags and snorkeling gear. There was a seating dispute among several passengers. Some older French people thought they were entitled to certain front seats and were quite rude. I couldn't believe the staff members decided not to say anything or do anything. They probably wanted tips from both sides. But I didn't think that was right. Should they keep their promise of 20 passengers per group and act properly to stop the rude French, I would have given the experience a 5-star review.Written 6 January 2025
- 145vivianner0 contributions100% recommend! Don't skip this trip to Saona IslandThe bus transfer to the boat has been quite long and complicated. BUT the tour itself was absolutely amazing & worth every penny. Our guide Christian was fluent in spanish, english & french. He was a very fun and patient guide. We were very happy that we were a small group as all the others boats that we saw coming looked completely overloaded. We had enough time to enjoy & explore the different spots. The tour was AMAZING & we'll always recommend it! As soon as we have the possibility to visit Saona Island again, we will only book with Dominican attitude.Written 18 December 2024
- Emma S0 contributionsFantastic trip through Get your Guide. 10/10Booked Saona Island Small Group Virgin Beaches Cruise Day Trip. Fantastic trip, from booking via get your guide, to Dominican Altitude contact via WhatsApp confirming booking and communications in lead up to trip. Very warm and welcoming staff at the office where we were dropped and throughout the day trip itself. Very informative with overall great vibe. Hotel pick up and drop was also very smooth. Great sights and scenery would recommend trips via Dominican Altitude.Written 29 November 2024
- 876carmenl8760 contributionsTerrific small group snorkeling excursionMarina and the crew provided a great snorkelling experience. This is a smaller outfit and so it is limited to a small group. There were only 9 of us, which meant less time wasted getting in and out of the water and of course less crowded in the ocean. They were a super friendly bunch, spent time talking to each guest, and ensured we were well taken care of. I highly recommend visiting Catalina island with them if you love snorkelling!Written 23 November 2024
- brookelynnh9890 contributionsYOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED TRUST ME IM PICKY LOLI’m a very particular person, I looked through at least 50 Saona Islands boat tours, some less expensive, some more expansive, the reviews for this one caught my eye. I chose this one after weeks of inquiries. I instantly trusted ourselves in their hands. From start to finish we were taken care of, we felt beyond safe, each and every stop was beyond amazing, not to mention almost every boat we saw look small or overcrowded, this was by far PERFECT! The entire staff is pleasant and friendly, every stop was immaculate. I honestly could go on and on, absolutely no complaints. Amazing crew, amazing views, an overall amazing experience. Thank you again!Written 16 November 2024
- Sherpa039522413870 contributionsTruly great tripWe had originally booked the standard small boat tour to saona island. A couple days before our trip we got messaged by the staff about a rescheduling due to bad weather forecast. We luckily agreed to the new date. After a free upgrade to the vip small group excursion we got a tour worth every penny. Really a small group (13 people) on a boat that would have fitted 20, enough shade and a great staff (friendly, informative with great englisch and always in a good mood). Seeing other boats left and right fully crowded, little to no shade we were super glade to be on this tour. Our guide Christian told us everything we could have asked for, we got nice food and free drinks as much as we liked. Every stop was worth the time (beach with turtle hatchery, secluded snorkeling beach, mangroves and starfish bay). Definitely recommend the tour, we felt taken care of the whole trip from the pickup at the hotel until the return back.Written 22 October 2024
- 783warreno0 contributionsBest day of our holiday with Dominican attitudeIf you want a day to remember book an excursion with these guys, we had the best day of our holiday, seeing so many parts of Saona from seeing baby turtles, lunch on the beach, snorkelling, turtles in the mangrove, starfish, rum & coke, salsa. altogether a great Caribbean day. Thank-you for our memories & our great photos produced by Francisco!Written 27 August 2024
- ianfG5964GQ0 contributionsParadiseOriginally booked the trip as a speedboat experience to the island a few months before. Night before trip we received an email stating that the catamaran was only trip available. We agreed to the change and we were glad we accepted. We were upgraded and now had food and drink included all through the trip from the moment you arrived at the office to the moment they waved you goodbye. The whole trip was an amazing experience. Christian our guide was knowledgeable, passionate about the island. He was ably assisted by the amazing crew on the boat who kept the rum and beer flowing (soft drinks are also available). We were taken to a beautiful spot on the island where we saw the turtle nursery and then had some traditional food. You could upgrade for lobster and pina coladas for a few extra dollars. Then it was off to a beautiful beach on the island for a swim and snorkel in the coral reef. A makeshift bar was made for much needed refreshment(rum). Crew called us back on board to go to the mangrove to see some turtles which were we lucky enough to spot. Then it was off to the final stop to swim and spot star fish on the sand bank which was out of this world. Unfortunately like all good things it was time to board for the final time and head back to bayhibe. We were taken to the office to meet our transport. If you do this trip the photos taken by the crew were amazing and very cheap to purchase. An amazing day with some amazing people. Choose Dominican-attitude for you trips. A family run business who care.Written 30 July 2024
- Ndavis20130 contributionsGreat choice.Excellent family trip. Great food. Nice staff. Not too much time for snorkeling but it was perfect for us. We saw sting ray, starfish and had a good time in the beautiful water.Written 16 June 2024
- O4717SSmoniquem0 contributionsAmazing! We had a great time with Dominican Attitude. Our guidebs were great with the kids. We had a 3 and 6 year old with us snorkeling. We were let off of the cruise late which cut into our tour, however, the guides made arrangements to ensure that we still got to at least see all of the stops on the tour. I wish we had more time to see the turtles and starfish, however, the excursion was great. The pictures don't do the islands visited any justice. I'm defined going to try again flying into the area.Written 3 June 2024
- PamelaH23760 contributionsDismissive and not a tour, you learn nothing about the DR. Guides ignore you unless you are white and French.will not visit this island again. I have traveled far and wide throughout the Caribbean and I have always found something that would bring me back, but my day 2 experience with Dominican Attitudes tours was the worst. Our transportation driver picked us up at the Coral Costa Carib resort on time and drove us for 80 minutes and never said a word in Spanish or English to us, he watched/listened to youtube for the full drive. Upon arrival we were the only Americans and only Black people on the full 20 people tour including the guides. Our guide Justine told us (group of 3) to get in the family buggy at the back (there were 2 others that were assigned to the dominant culture of French and Belgium people. The buggy we were given was trash, it would not drive so we were left behind while all others proceeded. We then were transferred to another which had a flat tire, we were then transferred again to have an engine failure. No other had vehicle had an issue and after the final engine failure our guide left us with the others and said she felt we would be fine with strangers. We finally arrived after our breakdown we were last in the shower and last to eat when we were told by Marianna to sit at an isolated table with the drivers who were also black and then said “I am sitting there also”. Marianna also was rude as fudge when it was time to get on the boat, yelling only at the three of us to get our stuff so that we could leave, NO ONE ELSE had gotten up from the table. All conversation was in French only. We paid $428.00 USD to take this full day of hell and literally left with no guide including is in anything except directives. We will not come to the DR again. When any group of people tour there should be a guide that will include everyone in the conversation and share the details of the island in all languages or let people know that there will not be translators for specific languages. Terrible tour if you do not speak French do not take this tour. If you are Black do not take this tour. If you are Black and speak English definitely do not take this tour. Waste of $428 and 9 hours.Written 7 May 2024
- B9877REgabrielleg0 contributionsRacist/horribleI have traveled the world extensively, many countries, many cultures. This was the absolute worst tour I’ve been on. I paid $500 for my black American family to go on this tour, we were the ONLY black people on this entire tour. When we arrived we were immediately told we had to be at the very back. The buggy did not work, it had obvious mechanical issues (visibly cut wires, broken steering wheel, would not drive above 10mph) but we were told it was fine and to get over it. Then the person helping with seatbelts physically grabbed my leg and moved it against my will as well as my mother’s arm to move her out of the way. As the buggy part of the tour went on we experienced THREE mechanical failures that put even further behind everyone and the tour guide left us behind. When we finally got back with the rest of the group after having a tire burst, and 2 engine failures, we were able to shower and get all of the caked on mud off. Then we joined the group for lunch where we’re told by the company to sit at an isolated table that was far away from the rest of the group. It was completely segregated. This is literally the worst experience I’ve had on any vacation or any of my travels. They did not listen to any of the very legitimate issues we had and kept passing us off like we were dirt. I will never recommend Dominican Attitude Excursions to any Black person or anyone that does not condone outright racism. 6 hours of being left behind, ignored, and treated as less than. This tour was a Time Machine back to slavery rather than fun excursion to experience. $500 wasted to be treated as 3/5ths of a human. Do not ever waste your money here.Written 7 May 2024
- ziggby0 contributionsDo it!My wife and I had 4 days in Bayajibe, with lots of jet lag… but we really wanted to discover the area and the Caribbean experience together. We found Dominican Attitude on the internet with perfect reviews on TripAdvisor, Justine got in touch with us over WhatsApp and an hour later our day trip was planned for our last day in Dominican Republic. OK, so we had the boat to ourselves, with Justine as the host, Gregorio as first mate and life of the party, and Capitán Patrón (I forget his name but he’s the Captain you want for any trip- cool as ice). We snorkeled, saw a friggin’ blowfish, a school of barracudas, starfish, a turtle, tons of other fish, corral, beautiful birds… we had fresh fish on Isla Catalina, we saw La Romana from the river, Casa de Campo and the Chavón river. 8 hours went by in a flash. It’s the best decision we could have made. Merci Justine and thanks again for absolutely everything. We will never forget this day with you and your team.Written 7 April 2024
- susanf2100 contributionsFabulousSuch a wonderful day! Well organised trip. Even when we got a puncture it was sorted quickly without fuss. Our guide Christian and his team made it a special and enjoyable day packed full of facts, fun, food and laughter. Photos taken of the experience were brilliant too. A very memorable dayWritten 24 February 2024
- Keefman0 contributionsA+++ YOU MUST BOOK THIS TRIP!! 5*You should book this trip instead of the P&O organised one. The payment is taken a couple of days before you arrive in case you need to cancel. Speedboat ride was great with fabulous beachside scenery in the way to Saona. Snorkels, masks and fins provided. Stops include the turtle incubation nursery, a Caribbean barbecue on the beach and private beach stop for coral reef snorkelling (about 200m from beach edge). Also stopped at Mangrove to see turtles and stingrays in the sea and at Natures Garden to go padding amongst starfish, plus stopped mid sea to feed some friendly birds birds. It has more stops than P&O organised tour, full of fun and excitement and the hosts are very hospitable and the free rum on tap! Only take this trip if you enjoy drinks on tap, dancing and laughs all day. Got back at 5pm in plenty of time for boarding. Justine, El Capitan and the crew took good care of us all day.Written 23 February 2024

Absolutely the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. From getting picked up at our hotel by sweet Martin, to then getting to Bayahibe and meeting Nadine, Marina & Justine, treated you just like family. And I cannot say enough nice things about our tour guide Christian. He’s a treasure. Just made it an absolute blast. He told us in the beginning we’d all be dancing by the end of the trip and I thought he was kidding but we were and it was just a blast! Not to mention the BEAUTY of Sanoa. It was so pretty you felt like it wasn’t real. I loved having lunch by the water. They did not let you get up to get anything, treated you like kings. The lady who made us lunch was very kind and it was so good. Also, this company does a great job of not cramming you into a catamaran with a bunch of people. We were the ONLY group who was sprawled out with plenty of room. The other groups were jammed on rows of benches with their life vests on, while we were drinking vitamin R and dancing merengue. The guys helping out on the boat were top notch also. Grande and the guy in the Lakers jersey (forget his name!) in particular were great and the photographer Miguel…just amazingly kind people. Snorkeling to see the giant sea stars was also really amazing. This tour does serve alcohol but no one was getting carried away. We brought our 10 & 12 year old and they loved it. We were on the tour from 9am-5pm and I thought it’d be too long but I didn’t want to leave. I know it sounds ridiculous but I tear up when I look at pictures of this tour. It was just so memorable.
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing experience with us! It's wonderful to hear that our team made you feel like family, from Martin picking you up at your hotel to Nadine, Marina & Justine welcoming you upon arrival. We're thrilled to know that Christian was an excellent tour guide and made the entire excursion a blast for everyone. It sounds like his prediction about dancing by the end of the trip came true!
We are delighted that Saona Island was such a highlight of your trip and exceeded your expectations in terms of its beauty. We're also glad to hear that lunch was delicious and served with great care.
It's always gratifying when we can provide guests with plenty of space on our tours, rather than cramming them into crowded catamarans or buses. We're pleased that Grande, the guy in the Lakers jersey (whose name escapes us), Miguel (our photographer) were all kind people who added to your memorable experience.
Thank you again for choosing Dominican Attitude Excursion for this special day out and bringing along young ones too! We hope we can welcome you back soon for another unforgettable adventure!

I can't say enough good things about this company and excursion! My husband and I were originally scheduled to go with a different company. Our tour was cancelled at the last minute and we were referred to Dominican Attitude. We were so grateful for this! I can't imagine the original excursion would have been better!
The communication was quick and professional! We were able to walk from our resort to the meeting spot. Our guide, Christian, was AMAZING! He spoke Spanish, French, and English. The crew as just as wonderful! They also don't pack the boat. We passed other catamarans that were stuffed with people! We had 22 and I think their max is 27! There was plenty of room for everyone:) They also have a photographer on board that takes so many wonderful pictures and are very affordable!!!
We were able to learn about the island's history, see actual island life, snorkel, and of course, enjoy the beautiful beaches!!
The tour is family friendly as well. We will definitely be returning!!!

It’s our third time visiting Saona with Dominican Attitude and each year the team makes from this excursion an unforgettable experience. In 20 years travelling in Rep Dom, we rarely saw a team so professional and enthusiastic. Perfect organisation, excellent food, beautiful boat with toilets, small groups, far away from industrial excursions. If you want to combine the Dominican way of life with the safety of an experienced team organising tours in the Bayahibe area with the highest quality standards and low prices, then choose Dominican Attitude, definitely the best !

My boyfriend and I recently took the Saona Island tour with Dominican Attitude. It was the most fun, magical day. Exploring paradise, swimming in the Caribbean, touring the turtle nursery, eating on the beach, dancing on the catamaran. Christian, our guide, was awesome. Very personable and entertaining. I highly recommend this experience. The pick up from the hotel and back was on time (driving was a little harrowing, but that's par for the course here) and bathroom on boat could use a light and some seat wipes. Men, no problem, women would really appreciate it. Lol. But aside from that, this was really one of the best experiences ever. So much fun. Thank you!

What an excursion! We were welcomed as soon as we arrived at the agency.
Once there, we were guided to the port of Bayahibe where we boarded the boat which would take us to the different expected destinations.
A short hour's journey full of alcohol (for those who drink it), good music and dancing to reach the first destination: Canto de la playa.
Beaches with scarlet water await you, with snacks and drinks if you fancy them. A good opportunity also to do a little snorkeling and observe the different sea creatures.
During this trip, Vicky, the photographer will be able to take your photos, just ask her with a smile.
Next direction: lunch on the beaches of the village of Mano Juan.
Expect good, varied dishes suitable for all tastes, but not only that... Right after, Andy, the guide will explain the history of the island and guide you to the turtle incubators (if you have If you're lucky, you'll see little baby turtles).
After a short swim, you will head next to Isla Catalinita to see turtles and then to the natural swimming pool, where you will have the opportunity to see starfish and other types of sea creatures.
On the way back (and throughout the trip for that matter), Gregory, the sailor and Andy, will serve you snacks and drinks and you will finish your excursion by dancing to good music if you wish.
Thanks to Jean-Charles, the captain, Andy, Vicky, Gregory, and Marina for their friendliness, their welcome and their kindness throughout this excursion.

Amazing experience! We were traveling for three weeks around the RD and did several tours, and still this was our favorite activity! Everything was as it should be, from communication to the last goodbye, without a fault.
Many many thanks to the crew who were unbelievably friendly and nice and attentive! From Cristian amazingly delivering information on three languages seamlessly, the captain, the "paparazzi", and the "vitamin" provider :)
Every single person during this tour was just what you wish for during the visit to the unbelievable Caribbean paradise that is Saona Island.

Day full of emotions on Saona, snorkeling to see the starfish, visit to the turtle nursery, visit to the village of Manoir Juan, snorkeling and tasting on the deserted beach of Canto playa, superb Dominican meal, we have turtles and flying fish in the open sea. Top crew and photographer. French-speaking guide, Cristian, introduces us to Saona with his passion, his history, his heart, his humor and his dance. Highly recommend this excursion with this agency. My daughters aged 6 and 9 were amazed.

A magical day 🏝️😎
Thank you to the whole team for your warmth and the good atmosphere.
The agency favors small groups (there were 25 of us) and small boats to access the wild beach of Mano Juan. At the meal we had the option 🦞 (24€/pers) cooked on the beach, a treat. The landscapes are incredible all along the route.
By boat we saw many starfish, a ray and a turtle at sea. On the way back, pass near the mangrove and snorkel in the “pool”, heavenly water.
Thank you for this day,
Sylvie and Richard

The excursion to the island of Saona was amazing, the beaches are beautiful, I saw turtles, rays and starfish were present at the natural pool.
The whole team on the boat is attentive and happy to spend the day with us, the guide Christian makes sure everyone understands, he speaks French, English and Spanish, the organization was very clear it was perfect.
When the team at the office again everyone is great, I contacted them with some questions before booking, the answers and follow-ups were always quick and accurate, Nadine even took the time to write to me the morning of the excursion (6:55) to tell me that my transport would be a little late, a big thank you to Marina, Nadine, Christian and all the other team members!!!.

Magnificent day in Saona with a top team. The host Christian is very friendly, explanations in French, English and Spanish, very enriching. The service is great and very complete, not too many people on the boat and they take us to an uncrowded beach which is just magnificent, a postcard!! Very good meal, unlimited vitamins 😝 in short I recommend without hesitation!

Do you provide transportation from punta cana? If so, how do we arrange that?

Is this excursion kid-friendly (asking specifically for an 8yr old)? Thank you!

Yes, as long as they can swim. It’s a snorkeling trip. Fairly calm water when we went.
