Saona Island Excursion by Catamaran and Speedboat
From US$85.00
Visit the can't-miss Saona Island via two different modes of nautical transportation—catamaran or speedboat—on this full-day tour from Punta Cana. Relax on the deck of a catamaran or speedboat during the outgoing journey, then spend three hours at your leisure and dig in to a barbecue buffet. Make the most of your time on your return journey with a stop at the natural pool on the way back to shore.
What to Expect
Morning pickup in Puna Cana or Bavaro means you’ll begin the day stress-free. Enjoy the scenery on the way to Bayahibe, where you'll board either a catamaran or speedboat for the ride to Saona Island.

Upon arrival, you can decide how to spend your time, making this tour a great choice for independent travelers. Options for activities include volleyball and dance lessons, or you can simply relax on the provided lounge chairs and sip drinks from the open bar. Stroll down the white sand beach under the swaying palm trees to collect shells or go for a swim until it's time for the barbecue-style buffet lunch.

At the end of the day, reboard the boat for the return trip to the mainland, stopping at the area's famous natural pool to take a swim and see the resident starfish. Back on the main island, enjoy convenient drop-off back at your hotel.

Not Worth It

I heard going to Isla Saona was an absolute must but turns out it's a dud of an excursion. The excursion itself is pretty lame, we got on a speedboat and it took us to go snorkeling for literally 5 minutes. I don't care about...More

Good day apart from the transfer to the catamaran.

This was a good day out but the transfer from the small boat into the catamaran was one of the scariest experiences I have ever had, I really thought it was going to capsize and I was in a complete panic along with a few...More

Too commercialised for us

We knew it would take all day to travel from our hotel (Excellence El Carmen) to the island, but didn't realise that it would take twelve hours. To be brief, we had two hours and thirty minutes on the beach at the island and basically...More
