Fantastic Tour of Blue Mountain Coffee Farm with Karen
I did the Kingston Blue Mountains Tour with Coffee Tasting on Friday, February 7, 2025. My tour guide, Karen, picked me up from my hotel in Kingston promptly at the designated time, and picked up two other participants from their hotels before we headed up to the beautiful Blue Mountains to a local coffee farm. The farm was on the smaller side, 40 acres, and we were able to learn from an employee about the coffee growing process and why Blue Mountain coffee is considered some of the best in the world. Of course, we were able to have a tasting! We walked around the grounds and saw where the coffee is grown and harvested. It was a great respite from the hustle and bustle of Kingston! After, we had a lunch at a local spot in the Blue Mountains. I must say that Karen is the reason for this 5-star review. Out of all of the tours I've done in years of travelling, she was one of the best tour guides I've ever had. I wish I had more time in Kingston to take more tours with her. She was very patient in answering my numerous question, and did her best to engage other folks on the tour in conversation. She was able to converse about books/stories on Jamaican culture (i.e. "A Brief History of Seven Killings" by Marlon James or New Yorker stories), point out local species of birds and plants found around the farm, and even had information on what Usain Bolt has been up to. I would consider this a "must do" activity while in Kingston!

Fantastic experience of Kingston and the Blue Mountains
Fantastic experience with Jamaica Cultural Tours while visiting Kingston. We initially started with the Kingston walking tour, where Nadia showed us parts of the city and the art murals. Great tour and learned a lot about the city. Nadia went out of her way to show us some local food items in a nearby shop after she learned I wanted to get some items 😊 I was keen to do another Tour and managed to book a last minute tour to the Blue Mountains to visit a coffee plantation. Karen was a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable. Following the coffee tour we roamed around the gardens after which we headed for lunch. Everything was very relaxed and we weren't rushed at all, which is what you sometimes get with other tours. Would highly recommend this company to explore Jamaica, and will definitely return to do some more tours!

What an amazingly informative few days
We were so lucky to choose Jamaica Cultural Tours to make the most of our time in Kingston. karen was exceptional in her helpful advice before we left the UK and was even more exceptional in person. Our first visit to Jamaica got off to a poor start when our flight from the UK was delayed by 6 hours, meaning we would arrive at Norman Manley Airport well after our scheduled meeting time. We needn't have worried. Our driver, arranged by Jamaica Cultural Tours, was there waiting to take us to the apartment. We arrived at 3am, and were scheduled to meet our driver for the city tour at 10am the same morning. At 10am on the dot, Karen, the owner of the company, met us at the apartment. The city tour started at Water Lane, in downtown Kingston, where Karen talked us through the various wall murals and their significance. She played us all the relevant types of music represented in the art. We then were taken to Heroes Park. Karen had an incredible knowledge of the heroes, and we learned so much about slavery and its origins. We had expressed an interest in going to the Culture Yard in Trench Town, so Karen had organised a tour for us. To see where Bob Marley was brought up and where he wrote some of his greatest reggae hits was a fabulous experience. We then went to Devon House for lunch and to sample some of their amazing ice cream. This was followed by a quick walk around Emancipation Park, where Karen continued to show her incredible knowledge of the city and the people. On Monday , we arranged another trip with Karen, this time up into the Blue Mountains to visit a coffee plantation and have lunch on the way back, another very informative trip. The following day, having completed our stay in Kingston, Karen drove us to our next location in Port Antonio. Karen is so much more than knowledgeable. She is lively intelligent and full of enthusiasm. She was also a very good, safe driver. We really enjoyed her company. She is a great conversationalist and we would have no hesitation in recommending Jamaica Cultural Tours if you are looking for a first-class experience during your time in and around Kingston.

A fun and interesting day in Kingston
We had a really enjoyable, informative day with Karen. Our stops included the Bob Marley Museum, Devon House for patties and ice cream, the National Heroes Park, Rockers International record store, Orange Street and Trench Town Culture Yard. Karen was eloquent and very professional but also fun - our favourite was our time in the record shop with Karen reminiscing about reggae covers from her teens. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

        COFFEE LOVERS!!! It’s a must! ☕️
Listen this tour was the highlight of my birthday trip to Jamaica I absolutely love coffee and had to go on the blue mountain coffee tour because Jamaican blue mountain coffee is rated the best coffee in the world! I loved everything about the tour from the property, the education about the coffee and the land, tasting the coffee in which it was wonderful to walking up the mountain to explore the coffee plants an the beautiful lush mountains. I mean it's absolutely breathtaking a place you'll never forget. My fiancé brought me four bags of blue mountain coffee for my birthday I absolutely love that it made my heart merry . Coffee lovers go and enjoy the experience of the coffee and the beautiful breathtaking blue mountains.

Ska/Reggae heritage tour in Kingston - unforgettable!
Amazing day in Kingston, Jamaica for a music and culture tour. For a life-long ska and reggae fan, it was almost a religious experience! Trip included the following: - Walking tour of Downtown Art District - Orange Street (birthplace of ska) and Rockers International Record shop - Trench Town Culture Yard tour - Tuff Gong Studios tour (and recording session!) We had the best day, courtesy of Karen at Jamaica Cultural Tours, driver Steve, guides Courtney and Spikes and studio engineer Oneil. Cannot thank you all enough! 😊

        The best Blue Mountains visit!
Such a wonderful trip by our wonderful guide, Karen. Karen drove us through Kingston, giving us a few history of the country and city, as we moved from the city to the mountains. As part of the Jamaican diaspora abroad, it was nice to see Jamaica again with new eyes and fresh memories. Craighton Estate was beautiful - staff were lovely and the coffee talk and tasting were detailed and thorough. The coffee was delicious and it felt particularly special to drink it surrounded by THE Blue Mountains! The views from the Mountains were incredible. So so amazing! Karen was a fantastic guide; super knowledgeable and engaging and it was overall such a great day!

        A must do experience
Our trip was well organised and Karen was an amazing informative guide. If you have the opportunity make time for this excursion, the views from the Blue Mountains are spectacular whilst the tour around the coffee farm offers a great insight into the history and process behind making the famous Blue Mountain coffee.

Wonderful experience and awesome tour guide.
Learning about the history and culture of Jamaica through the many street artists was an awesome experience. Our guide Karen was perfect. She was very knowledgeable and she seemed to really enjoy her work and took pride in sharing her culture. We would recommend her specifically for any city tour you take.

        Best Tour Guide in Kingston
My family and I visited Jamaica in June 2024. This was a very big trip for us as native Jamaicans -- basically returning home to the motherland after 3+ decades in the United States. It was more of a homecoming celebration than a vacation, and the team at JA Cultural Tours made it incredibly special. I wanted to learn all of the history I missed growing up in the US, so I booked two tours: 1) the Kingston Walking Tour and 2) the Blue Mountain Tour. On the Kingston Walking Tour, my family and I learned a "whole-heep" of Jamaican history. Courtney took us into the heart of downtown and helped us understand/remember the cultural components that make Jamaica Jamrock. Through music, language, art, and food, we got the full Kingston experience. A few days later, Courtney and the lovely guy who drove us up the mountain (I cannot remember his name at the moment -- forgive me!) gave us the Blue Mountain experience where we journeyed up to the mountain top to witness for ourselves the beauty that lives in the Blue Mountains and to also learn why Jamaica has some of the best coffee in the entire world. On this tour, we got the best views, the best food, the best coffee, and some of the best laughs on our entire trip. The Blue Mountain Tour was my absolute favorite and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting Jamaica, but especially for coffee lovers. Overall, the JA Cultural Tours team are not only professionals, but they create an experience that one can only find in Jamaica -- this is what makes them the best. Courtney is beyond amazing at what he does and how he tells the story of our country with immense pride. Big ups to the JA Cultural Tours team, we will come back soon to learn more from you guys.

Our family was visiting Ocho Rios on vaction, and I wanted my part-Jamaican sons to see at least a bit of the country beyond the resort. Being teenagers, I could only convince one of them to come, but he and I had a very enriching experience.

Karen put a lot of thought into tailoring this tour to the ages and interests of our party. We toured the Tuff Gong studio (recording home to Bob Marley, and many other nationally and internationally famous artists), and had the best patties I've ever tasted at Devon House. I particularly like the goat curry patty. (The Devon House ice cream was very good and very generous, if not quite as mind-blowing as I'd heard--maybe if we'd had something besides plain chocolate...) We checked out some beautiful murals downtown, and visited the Trench Town tenement where Bob Marley first started writing music--that felt big. I came away wanting to learn more about Bob Marley, other Jamaican artists, and the rasta movement, since I feel like I will better appreciate the great significance of some of the things we saw.

Coming all the way from Ocho Rios (about a 1.5-hour drive) was actually a bonus for us, since we got to see the beautiful interior of the country, and to chat with our charming driver Hewitt. And just driving around looking at Kingston was interesting too. That could depend on your comfort level--most of it isn't pretty, exactly (though the forested hills are always in the background), and some parts are obviously very poor, but I found it fascinating to take it all in.
