Very muddy, but VERY FUN
Dec 2021 • Couples
Amazing experience, and SO HAPPY we did it, but way more intense than advertised lol. I’m glad I booked through TripAdvisor so I could read reviews and understand this beforehand. Some people on our excursion thought it was a leisurely stroll and were shocked with how demanding the hike was. You are legitimately CLIMBING up and down the rainforest, some instances you have to use ropes to help pull yourself up to places. They do offer places for some to stay behind and options for those who don’t think they can make it. Bring shoes you are okay with destroying, you’ll be walking and climbing through mud and your shoes and parts of your body will absolutely be covered in it. Both myself and my boyfriend brought shoes we were okay with throwing away afterward. It downpoured while we were in the rainforest and that made the hike even muddier. The guides were amazing and very knowledgeable about the rainforest, we felt safe through the whole thing. There’s a waterfall slide you get to slide down along with a 22ft cliff, 15ft and 5ft cliff to jump off of if you want to. After climbing around and getting so dirty it was so fun to jump in to the water and swim around! Such a blast, what a unique experience. Highly recommend!
Tip: eat a huge breakfast, do not bring your phone or ANYTHING with, they take a million photos and air drop them to everyone on the bus ride to lunch, make sure to wear tight fitting sneakers or boots you’re okay with trashing, bring flip flops and clothes and a towel to change in to for after the hike - enjoy!!

Amazing! We love Harold!
We had Harold as our tour guide and he was amazing! He had very positive energy and provided a lot of helpful information about Puerto Rico on the way to the tour. He gave us helpful advice on what to bring and not to bring into the forest and he kept us safe the whole time. Mitchell also helped us in the water. Overall, super fun and adventurous tour with great staff, highly recommend!

A great start to our week in Puerto Rico!
Frankie, our tour guide was professional, fun, friendly and LOUD! This tour was the perfect way to get an overview of Puerto Rico and it’s history, and the unique ecosystems at different altitudes in the El Yunque rainforest. After this introduction, we set off on our own muddy adventure into the jungle to finally reach a picture perfect waterfall and try out a natural water slide and a couple of jumps into water from different heights. Frankie made the experience enjoyable and comfortable, even for a person in my tour group who was not a confident swimmer. He also expertly handled an early mix-up regarding the number of friends in my party (I’d amended my reservation a couple of times). This tour set the tone for our unforgettable and enjoyable week in Puerto Rico!

My husband and teenage girls had an adventurous experience. James, George and Mitchell- aka Tarzan were great tour guides. They made you feel safe and gave you confidence to get through it. You definitely want to be in good physical health to complete this hike. I’ve been in other rain forests but this was like no other. They take you through a daunting path but it was worth the physical pain. The scenery was breathtaking. Be sure to have shoes with a lot of traction and don’t wear your best clothes. You will get muddy and very wet. I’m glad our resort had a laundry room to wash everything we had worn a few times. I would recommend this excursion to anyone wanting a physical adventure.

A fully immersive experience!
Nov 2021 • Couples
This was an EXCELLENT experience all around. We missed our excursion due to a scheduling issue and Shanie was SO helpful in helping us reschedule it. The tour itself was highly organized and fun. Pickup near our AirBNB was seamless. Franchesca, Bula, and Mitchell were incredibly professional and made us feel safe while maximizing the great time we had. The sights of the rainforest were incredible, and the activities (cliff jumping, rope swinging, natural water slides) were really a once in a lifetime experience. The little local bar and lunchtime stop near the beach in Fajardo were a great bonus (try the mojito + agua coco from Mojitolab!).

Of note: This tour is DEFINITELY strenuous, as well as muddy and wet. You will be fully immersed in water and need shoes with good traction. Bring a change of clothes for the bus, make sure to eat breakfast beforehand, and don’t plan on carrying anything with you while you hike.

Five stars all around. A must do!

Best El Yunque Excursion
Oct 2021
I recently visited (10/21/21-10/25/21) in celebration of my friend's bachelorette party. Being from PR (the only one in the group), I almost sat out from this activity because I have been to El Yunque so "many times" before. I am so glad that I didn't because I have NEVER experienced El Yunque like this! From beginning to end, this experience was just amazing. First off, our tour guide Frankie is THE BEST! I cannot rave enough about him--we saw other tour guides along the way and none seem as passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated as Frankie. He picked us up from the hotel on time; being early he knew that we probably had not eaten breakfast so he took us to a local spot where we could eat, talked to use during the trip (shared PR history that I didn't know myself) and was just so friendly- he referred to us as family for the day and treated us as such. He took us through trails, stopped to show us/explain the landscape/plants, and then off to the "main events" which inclded slides/jumping off "cliffs". He was so much fun, pushed us to conquer our fears (some of us in the group were more adventurous than others) but not forced to do so. We were not rushed, he let us enjoy ourselves at our pace. I also loved the interaction between the tour guides. They all knew each other-even from other companies- and helped each other along the way. At the end, after a few hours of adventure, we were dropped off at the Kioskos de Luquillo to have lunch/drinks- he gave us plenty of time to eat/explore. I cannot rave enough about this experience and our tour guide Frankie--I highly recommend everyone to do it, even natives like I, who thought we've experienced El Yunque. I promise you will not regret it!

Rainforest Excursion
This was an excellent tour. 1) The pre-tour communication was very thorough. I received a confirmation call three days before and several messages the day before and day of. 2) Our guide, Frankie, was so knowledgeable of Puerto Rican history and the natural environment that it was a huge bonus to hear all that info from him. 3) He was very entertaining and we didn't know anyone else in the group but were all laughing together by the end. Note that this tour is physically intense and be sure to read all the instructions prior to going. Bring old sneakers you don't care about ruining. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely book future tours with them.

A safe, fun experience with great guides!
Oct 2021 • Couples
Our tour guides Frankie and Julian were great! From the beginning they had great communication about what we were going to do and educated us about the forest and PR. We then got to the forest and we felt very safe with helmets and life jackets! I was grateful for the helmet after almost hitting my head on a branch! They were super supportive and high energy making the trek so much fun! My boyfriend and I had such a great time.

To people interested in the trip, you can bring your phone and other stuff on the bus and keep it on there for the hike but I’d recommend not bringing anything with you for the actual hike. We ended up not bringing our phones with water proof cases just in case and it was great not having to worry. 1 person in our group had their waterproof case break and their phone was cracked with water all inside. Another person lost their phone to the bottom of the water after jumping in. Our tour guides took pictures for us anyways so I’d recommend not bringing anything worth money. Also - wear either water shoes or shoes you don’t care about as they will get muddy and wet! Super fun experience though!
