- 776marissar0 contributionsGreat ExperienceLoved our tour guide Angel, also loved swimming in the water! Hike was not too hard, going uphill was the only bad part. Would recommend!Written 17 March 2025
- CMCFHAZ0 contributionsJust okayThe last time we did this, it was amazing. The waters just glowed with every stroke and every time a fish swim by it was this bright luminescence yellowish green eerie cool experience and our guide stopped occasionally to show us iguanas hanging from trees and give us a little history of the bioluminescent waters. Our last guy talked loud enough and made sure we understood him so we could get a cool experience. This time around, it was kind of a rushed kayak situation. There was really nothing cool or casual about it. There were also so many kayaks, that probably was the reason why the bioluminescent situation wasn't really present even in the darkest part of the mangroves. There are several bioluminescent beach areas in the United States that are dull but present. This kayak experience was just a long drive to a rushed kayaking night time thing. I know they have no control over the bioluminescence, if it wasn't so rushed, it wouldn't have been so disappointing.Written 12 March 2025
- Nomad250551955920 contributionsGreat Experience! We had good time, our tour guy was Angel, he was very nice and friendly. Thank you for making this trip so memorable. We will repeat next time we are in Puerto Rico.Written 12 March 2025
- chelseys3500 contributionsTour is a Scam!!This company and Bio Bay tour is a complete SCAM!!! They are selling an experience they can’t deliver!! You book a tour for the Bio Bay and at different times of the moon there is ZERO visibility and you get under a tarp with one inch of room if you push the next kayak that you are tied up to splash and to even see a spec of the bioluminescence! This is a complete joke and not worth your money!! When complained and asked for refund the customer service from the manager Alex was absolutely horrible!! And said you are buying a night kayaking!? Even though the description says bio bay? And why would you go kayaking at night?? Unreal!! Then he hung up on me! Great customer service! 👍🏻 Save your money and do NOT book this tour!Written 12 March 2025
- NancyC43460 contributionsRainforest tripWe enjoyed our day. The trek down to the swimming hole was a bit of a workout but not as much as going back up. The beach was beautiful and our weather was perfect. Our guide gave us the history of everything we saw. Great dayWritten 12 March 2025
- jacksonlisamichelle0 contributionsJoe is the best!My guide Joe went above and beyond!!! My partner and I didn’t know how to kayak and Joe towed us and showed us animals in the dark!!Written 12 March 2025
- jacquelinesQ7242BU0 contributionsAwesome solo tripSwimming in the river was so fun! The paths aren’t too tricky, bring your own water! Don’t forget sunscreen but there weren’t too many bugs at allWritten 10 March 2025
- 839stefania0 contributionsNight KayakGreat crew to guide us through the mangrove trees in the dark. Unfortunately could barely see the bioluminescent water, but it was very ooo to kayak in the dark and see flying fish!Written 8 March 2025
- alexanderdI1523VM0 contributionsOnce in a Lifetime Experience! This tour was incredible! I would highly recommend going as late as possible, as it will be easier to see bioluminescence at night. Kayaking through the mangrove forest in the dark and being able to see countless stars are amazing experiences of their own as well. Our guides did a great job of ensuring the group made it to and from the bay together, as well as making sure every had the chance to see the bioluminescence and even jellyfish! Our driver Rupert was also very friendly, funny, and made for a great trip from San Juan.Written 7 March 2025
- alexanderdI1523VM0 contributionsIncredible Day with Raphael! This tour was perfect for seeing a couple of amazing sites around El Yunque and Luquillo! There was enough time to stop and look around at each spot without getting bored or waiting for the trip to move foward. Conditions were also perfect for us to go swimming in the river! Our guide Raphael was funny, energetic, and knew all about the rainforest, Luquillo, and the history of Puerto Rico.Written 7 March 2025
- M317170 contributionsGreat tour!We had a great time driving up the mountains and exploring the rainforest and beach! Our guide was very fun and energetic. If you've never been to the rainforest, this is a great starter tour! Not too much walking and great knowledge about Puerto Rican history.Written 7 March 2025
- Ehockey10 contributionsA great adventure in PRGreat kayak trip; the plankton was so cool! And it was fun to kayak at night. The guides helped with instructions and alerts, pointed out lizards and gave us plenty of time to stir up the plankton to see the glows. The guides helped who did our intro talked very quickly and it was a bit hard to understand her, but we understood it all. A great thing to do when visiting PR.Written 6 March 2025
- jessicapB5318BA0 contributionsGreat for a family adventure! Our tour guide Raphael was amazing! He really brought the energy to our group. This is definitely a low key tour, so if you aren't looking for a crazy hike this is great. I would recommend bringing a towel and change of shoes, because the swim in the river is a must do 10/10 experience. It rained on our hike back, so bonus points for packing a pancho... we were totally unprepared. Luquillo beach was a fun ending, there are places to grab lunch and drinks, but make sure you pack snacks and water for the rest. My family of 4 had a great time, kids 7 and 10 did just fine. Although my daughter wanted a bit more adventure my son wasn't quite ready for that so this worked out.Written 1 March 2025
- Don T0 contributionsbad businessOur instructions stated that we were to phone these people to receive pick-up instructions. We called 6-7 times before and after we arrived in San Juan. No answer. At first their message said their mailbox was full, and later a message with similar meaning in Spanish. They sent us a link to sign a waiver 5-6 times. The link didn't work. We responded to their e-mail stating " 1. Their link doesn't work. 2. their phone number to schedule pick-up doesn't work. I expect better. My phone number is...". After that we did get through by phone and arranged pick-up. The morning of our tour we received an e-mail stating our tour was canceled because they didn't like the term "I expect better". No tour, no recourse. I find their response childish and arrogant. What a bunch of prima donnas.Written 28 February 2025

This was such an amazing tour for a very reasonable price. This tour comes with transportation, which was helpful for us since didn’t rent a car. They picked us up from the hotel in San Juan and took us to local towns and then finally to the rainforest. Our tour guide Andrea was super sweet and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and nature. She gave information about the island even on the way too the forest. The hike wasn’t long (about 30 mins), which was great for us, since we’re more interested in the river activities than actually hiking. There were some tricky parts of the hike but Andrea and Jose were there help us navigate it. If you aren’t a strong swimmer, I would recommend bringing a life jacket since one isn’t provided. Most of the stops on the tour also accepted credit card. P.S. The stand we stopped at in Luquillo has the BEST pina colada smoothie and great food over all!

Noelle was my guide and he was awesome! The tour wasn’t just in the rainforest he also shares facts while driving to the rainforest. The hike can be a little challenging but it was doable I would consider it an intermediate hike due to some of the rocks you have to climb over. Bring lots of water and shoes with good traction the mud can be slippery after fresh rainfall! The water slides and rope swings were so fun. Also although the hike got a little difficult Noelle was very helpful and made sure everyone was safe while climbing. He also took pictures and videos for you since our phone had to be left below before the water activities(obviously). The beach stop was great even with the shut down the strip had plenty of food and alcoholic drink places open. I would take this nature walk again. THANKS NOELLE!!

Our tour guide and driver were fun and very nice. Even though most of the El Yunque park was still closed as of 14JUL, our tour guide was still get access to a private river and waterfall that we spent a couple hours at after hiking for 30 minutes. It was awesome! Prior to the river we stopped by a couple beaches and a local eatery selling authentic Puerto Rican food and smoothies.

This was not the real thing, we just had an 8 minute walk, arrived at a river, took a dip and left. if you want to go to the rain forest main attraction area, this is not it. I basically wasted a precious day of my PR vacation.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. We were coming from NY and was looking forward to seeing this beautiful rainforest. Our tour guide was absolutely amazing and adventurous. I learned so much about the rainforest and he also took great photos of my hubby and I. It was a group of 4 of us so it was a nice intimate tour. If you are looking for a great time, book this tour. You wont regret it. Such beautiful views and water falls throughout. Theres two slides the tour guide encouraged me to go on and I am so happy that I did. I have nothing negative to say. Thanks again tour guide!!!

If you are looking to experience the rain forest you will be disappointed. Only a 10 minute walk in the rain forest. After pick up, lunch stop then drive to rainforest. I think we were only on outskirts of El Yunque. After only a short 10 min walk, we stopped for an hour to play in river, jump in river and swing on rope which was great! Unfortunately, that was it! End or rainforest adventure. No hike or further exploring, just the river swim. Then dropped off for 2 hours in Luquillo beach at food kiosks. Tour guide was great. Tour description needs to be updated. But this is not the tour if you want to see or experience El Yunque.

I just came back last night from a 6 day trip to Puerto and found this tour last Friday, at the last minute, and I'm so glad I chose this! Super cool vibe & views all around. My tour guide Angel was not only knowledgable but just an all around pleasure to be with. Absolutely hilarious and the life of the party. Best of all, everyone in my group was totally awesome and got along with each other perfectly. It was the cherry on top of my trip. If you want an awesome vibe with killer views, BOOK THIS!!!!!

First, IF YOU ARE A FAMILY NEEDING TO GET BACK TO SAN JUAN FOR YOUR CRUISE, DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR (not even the 4-hr nature walk). You will not have enough time, and your poor planning will mean that the tour is cut short for everyone else. Besides that, you will be stressed out from constantly monitoring the time, and the tour-company driver will have to book it back to SJ at breakneck speed.
Yes, I'm blaming the tour company, who should have made it clear to that family that the timing was too tight. Our "four-hour tour" was barely two hours actually in the park. We know that tourism is Puerto Rico's road to recovery and are happy to spend our dollars there for that reason, but we felt short-changed by this experience.
Second, be aware that the 2017 hurricanes devastated the forest. Although everything is green and lush, there are not many tall trees left. Also, only one trail out of 13 has been reopened -- it's packed with people. I imagine that it's like being on the Inca Trail during high season. Saw no wildlife apart from a stick insect because of all the people, and kept having to get out of other people's way or rushing through parts of trail because others were waiting for us to pass.
We did not get to swim in the river, which was the thing we were most looking forward to, because the cruising family with the poor planning needed to get back. Our tour guide (who was enthusiastic but spent way too much time on crazy-person topics not related to the forest and ecosystem) told us that "river conditions were deteriorating" but it was obvious that cutting the tour short was to accommodate the rushed return journey.
Jason, the tour-company driver, was awesome. He got that family back in time (and all of us there and back in one piece) even though I think he may have damaged his minibus with the high-speed driving. Also, the communication with the office staff for pick-ups was excellent.
Verdict: The nature-walk-only tour is NOT WORTH the $79 per person. Maybe the tours that combine three activities are better value.
