About the operator

- irinar4130 contributionsA fantastic experienceWe had an amazing time on this tour in Martinique! Our guide Christelle was incredibly enthusiastic about her island, sharing interesting historical facts and taking us to different places during the tour. A special highlight was tasting the delicious local food and drinks she prepared herself, thank you, Christelle 😁 The weather was not so good, but we did not really notice that because it was a lot to see and to explore. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Martinique for the first time!Written 8 March 2025
- Y4621YDth0 contributionsAmazing Tour!Don't hesitate to book your tour with Karambole. Christelle is very informative. We stopped in Martinique on a cruise and the pick up and drop off were right as you get off the ship. We adjusted the gourmet food tour slightly as we had young children with us. We went to the Zoo and then stopped in St. Pierre. The zoo was beautiful and St. Pierre was very interesting. Christelle made homemade treats which were very good. We learned a lot about the history and culture of the island. She was very good and patient with our children and the van was the nicest we have ever been in on an excursion....very clean. We want to come back and will definitely use Karambole again. Highly recommend!Written 2 February 2025
- LauraDiItaly0 contributionsGlou Glou Fresh was a wonderful tourWe had a wonderful tour with Christelle, she is a star, knowledgeable and passionate. We learnt a lot from her interesting explanations ,she shared fun stories and historic facts with “verve” and lovely warm attitude. Husband and myself tried the GLOU GLOU FRESH tour and it turned out to be absolutely special !!! Christelle stopped the car to give us an incredible view of the TROIS ILETS bay and that was a stunning view, I mean it. We had asked to visit the Pottery Village and Christelle showed us also the incredible habitat of mangroves – with deep comprehension of the place. Other beautiful views were the Diamond rock (rich in History) and Anse d’Arlet, at every stop we were treated to tasty samples and pleasant drinks too !!! I was especially touched by the Cape 110 memorial, that Christelle presented with lots of details and passionate historic insight !! Both myself and husband were intrigued by downtown Trois-Ilets – and all in all we could gather many photos and heartfelt memories. THANK YOU , dear Christelle !! Next time we are in Martinique, we will be sure to try your PILE et FACE tour, can’t wait !!!Written 1 January 2025
- salvadorgW2319OS0 contributionsBest everDon't look anywhere else. Best tour we have ever taken. 10 out 10. We did the day tour for cruisers. Can't go wrong with Chirstelle. well spoken in Engish. We been traveling or 30+ years.Written 12 May 2024
- Danielle T0 contributionsGreat day with Christelle! We had an awesome day with Christelle when our cruise ship docked in Martinique. She has tremendous passion for her home and we loved everything about this tour. The stops are very diverse so we got to see a little of everything - a church, the rain forest, ruins, rum factory and a beautiful beach. The van was really Comfortable and Christelle was eager to please everyone on the tour. The local snacks and beverages were the cherry on top! I highly recommend this tour. Just book it!Written 7 January 2024
- Mikiduta0 contributionsAmazing tours both in the north and south! We liked so much the first tour that we did in Martinique that we booked another one, one week later. Our first tour was in the North and Christelle was amazing. First stop was at Sacre Coeur Church which is built in the same style as Sacre Coeur in Paris. We continued through the mountaneous region of Martinique and we arrived at a nice waterfall where we were the only tourists at that time. St Pierre on the shores of Caribbean Sea was the next stop where we learnt about the tragedy that struck the biggest city in The Caribbean in 1902. Mount Pelee had the fastest and the most deadliest eruption that killed almost all the people in St Pierre. If you are lucky you can see the entire mountain on a clear day to see how imposing it is. Then we have visited Depaz distillery where we found out about the history of the place rebuilt by the only member of Depaz family that survived the Mt Pelee eruption just because he was in France at that time. Last stop was at a beach enjoying the local Lorraine beer, before going back to Fort de France. The entire tour takes 5 hrs and will take you in an amazing culinary experience (at every stop you will enjoy a local delicacy or a local drink). Second tour in the south was focused on the Diamond Rock, Grand Anse Beach, a photogenic church at Anse d’Arlets, Anse Cafare Slave Memorial and a distillery. Both tours are different and but amazing and Christelle is made for guiding this kind of tours. She even served local delicacies at every stop we made during the tour.Written 21 January 2023
- Merle N0 contributions6 hours of fun education and treatsOur guide Crystal was great! She had made different snacks for along the way, different drinks to try, alcoholic and non. Several sites to stop at, limited to a small group (we had 5 people total) so very personal service. Highly recommend as a great way to see the island and learn.Written 30 December 2022
- 9cindya0 contributionsExcellent TourJust returned to cruise ship from a tour with Christelle. This was an excellent tour. When I was planning our trip I found this tour on trip advisor and read all of her great reviews. She did not disappoint, our tour actually exceeded our expectations. Christelle shared the history of Martinique, shared local snacks and drinks with us. Her knowledge of the island and its history made the tour most interesting. We recommend this tour to anyone researching tours of this island.Written 12 November 2019
- todde2540 contributionsBest tour on Martinique. I Love Christelle!!Since we got back last December I've been asked about this tour dozens of times even though I posted a review when I got back last year. Can't say enough about how great our tour was last fall with Christelle. For those of your considering booking it, I cannot recommend this tour enough. It's top shelf, Christelle is the best on Martinique. I'm planning a cruise for next fall 2020 and can't imagine going back to Martinique and not spending my day with Karambola Tours and Christelle Eugene. I can't wait to go back. This tour was one of the highlights of my vacation everybody on our very nice tour bus had a once in a lifetime day. Don't miss this tour. ToddWritten 31 October 2019
- SarahT63130 contributionsExcellent tour - highly recommend! We took this tour in December 2018, we arrived in Fort de France via cruise ship and Christelle was waiting for us at the port gate. Christelle is an excellant tour guide, providing clear, interesting information throughout the tour. At each stop she provides you with a sample of local food or beverage, which is a lovely touch. This tour exceeded expectations and would highly recommend it especially to those visiting by cruise ship.Written 25 August 2019
- DogDusty0 contributionsStill Superb! We took a second tour with Christelle a few weeks ago while in Martinique. We did our first tour a few years ago and it was so much fun we were pleased to take another tour with this wonderful company. Christelle is such an amazing guide and teaches you so much about her country and it’s culinary delights! We toured the northern part of the island and had quite a few stops with sweets and liquor provided along the way. It was so much fun. Would highly recommend this company and look forward to seeing Christelle on our next trip to Martinique. Judy and Dan.Written 11 August 2019
- terrec0 contributionsBeautiful Rain Forests, Rich HistoryWe arrived here by way of cruise ship and this port was the only one we had not been to and were excited about our visit. Fort de France looks very modern and upscale. It seems everyone drives a Mercedes and our tour driver was no different! We had booked a half-day tour with Krambole Tours, and Christelle, our guide, was excellent, giving us information and history lessons along the way. Instructions were to meet her at the pier at 9:00. While we were waiting, it began to rain…oh, no! She arrived precisely at 9:00 and said that this was the first rain they’d had in months and they were glad to see it. Van loaded, we began our journey to the top of the mountain. First stop was a Catholic church that is magnificent. It’s an old beautiful church that has rich history. There are also restrooms here that are the last ones for a while. We left the church and headed to the rain forest. We saw the Alma River, and while most walked down to the Saut Gendarme water fall, I and another lady opted to stay in the van since it was raining and the steps to the falls were steep and wet. I didn’t want to chance slipping and breaking something -- like my pride! My husband said that was a good decision! From here we visited the ruins of an old theater in St. Pierre, the DePaz Rhum Distillery where we walked around the distillery outside and then went inside for some rum tastings. From the distillery we were on our way to Grey Sand Beach, our last stop. We also saw Mt. Pelee as we were driving along. At each stop, Christelle would present tasty local treats that she had prepared just for us. You do not get a lunch with this tour, and the treats she had prepared were more like snacks. The trip takes extremely winding roads up the mountain so if you have motion sickness, I would recommend you take whatever you use for that before the tour. Christelle has something she can give you, but I wished I had taken my Bonine! This tour costs 65 Euros pp and she prefers you pay with Euros. They are easy to order from your bank and have within a few days; otherwise it’s $85 pp. You may also pay with a credit card. We were the only ones paying with Euros and she was very appreciative. I would like to have been able to get out of the van along the way for photos, but there really isn't anywhere to pull over; that was the only thing I didn't like about it, not that many photo ops along the way. We enjoyed this tour and I believe you will, too.Written 23 April 2019
- Kingston_kid0 contributionsAmazing and enlightening tour from an amazing guide!!We had the most incredible tour with Cristelle. She arrived promptly at the cruise port to pick us up and we were pleased to see her comfortable vehicle, with ample room for everyone. Her passion for Martinique shines throughout the tour and her pairings are absolutely delicious. It was such a nice touch to be treated with delicacies throughout our journey! Could not recommend this tour enough. Martinique is stunning. If we return, we will definitely contact her again for more touring options!Written 14 April 2019
- aoa840 contributionsA Perfect Way to End my Trip to MartiniqueI had an amazing time with Christelle on my last full day in Martinique! Before I arrived on the island, she was very helpful and easy to speak to, which was especially helpful as an English speaker with only basic "how do you do?" French at my disposal. Christelle is incredibly warm, kind, and full of information about the history of Martinique and its present, along with local lore and legends. While many of the sites she took me to are well-known, I can't imagine learning or enjoying myself as much as I did with anyone else. And the treats that accompany the food and drink tour are so good! I highly recommend this tour for anyone coming to Martinique. It was the highlight of my trip.Written 5 April 2019
- Jessica C0 contributionsThe Highlight of My StayChristelle was amazing! She was personable, funny, and shared great details about the history of her country. The bites and drinks were very tasty, and I wish she had a couple of them here in the US. I did the Pilet et Face Tour and had an amazing experience in the rainforest. The other stops before and after were also great, but the rainforest was breathtaking. I had never been in one before. Highly recommend! Really great for those who can't walk too much or - like myself, would rather ride in an air-conditioned car. The only thing that could've topped this was hiking the volcano, and it rained the day I was going to. So glad I at least left with this experience. Also, she speaks English for those who don't speak French.Written 2 April 2019

I would like to recommend the Pile et Face tour. I was able to book this tour through Karambole Tours, and I was able to arrange this for our entire group of nine. I communicated with the tour guide, Christelle, via WhatsApp. We rode a minibus that comfortably accommodated the entire party. We were picked up from the cruise ship terminal on January 17, 2025. Our tour covered a lot of ground. We explored the Northern part of the island, including visits to St. Pierre, the Alma River, the Sacre Coeur, and the Depaz distillery. Christelle provided historical and cultural context for each location. I did enjoy the local food samples we were given at each stop. Our tour began at 9am and finished at 2pm. This itinerary allowed enough time to tour Fort de France and shop for souveniers. I’d recommend the Pile et Face tour for cruise passengers who’s spending one day in Martinique.

Alexandra was great. Her English was excellent. She did a good job explaining the sites even though it was a rainy day, really more off and on. The foods we sampled were enjoyable 😉. They were homemade, which enhanced the experience.
This was a smaller group than what is usually the case with the offerings from the cruise ship. It suited us.
I recommend this tour heartily. 🙂👍🙂 I wish I could give 10 🌟 s

Visited Martinique on a cruise and found and booked this tour on trip adviser. This tour was excellent. Christ Elle our guide was exceptional - full of information and antidotes and history of Martinique , life style, history and rain forest. Read the description of what and where we were taken.
Tour lasted over 4 hours and at each strip we were offered insightful home made nibbles.
At 75E this was amazing value .
After the tour christelle directed me to a small restaurant offering crepes ( Martinique is French after all) and crepes Suzette was the perfect end to a great day.
Can highly recommend both christelle and this tour.

What a wonderful tour! Christelle was a fantastic tour guide. She is very knowledgeable regarding the history of the island and local food. The food was delicious. She was a thoughtful, attentive tour guide. My husband and I were on the tour with one other person. We saw the ruins in St. Pierre, the church that was designed to look like the Sacre Coeur church which is in Paris, a Rhum business, and more. Christelle is an easy person to be around and very informative, as well as a careful driver. She uses a small microphone that makes it easy to hear her in the back seats. Thank you, Chistelle for a great tour.
Check with Christelle regarding the pick up place. Most tours have pick up at the front of the Simon hotel. There was a little mix-up regarding pick up.

What a fabulous day we had with Christelle! We stopped in Martinique on the Enchanted Princess and there weren't any excursions of interest offered by Princess. Boy am I glad that we found Karambole. Everything from the mini bus to the food to the places we visited were great. But the star is Christelle. She shared so much of her knowledge of the island with us and at every stop she gave us an island treat - mostly homemade by Christelle herself. I can't say enough good things about Christelle and her company. Would do the exact same tour again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves in Martinique again.

One of the best tours of our 25 day cruise in spite of a little rain. Christelle is an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable about the island and all the sites we were able to visit in addition to being an excellent driver. She was right on time to pick us up as we disembarked from our ship. She had a handheld sign and we were able to find her immediately. The food samples she provided were a real treat, several homemade. Our 4 1/2 hour tour went by all too quickly. Our transportation was very comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of the tour. This was a great way to explore Martinique.

Spent a fun day with christelle touring some of the beautiful historic sites of Martinique. Christelle is very knowlegable about all the sites and takes time to really explain the history behind them. And she can really maneuver her van through traffic while doing it.
However, the only downside is that I would not consider this a “food tour”, yes she did provide some homemade snacks that were very tasty but on a food tour, the food should be the star. I’ve done several other food tours in other countries and by the end, I’m so full I have to turn food down. Learning the history of the island was very interesting but I skipped breakfast in preparation and unfortunately I was still very hungry at the end.
Overall though I would give thumbs up and happily recommend this tour

I would give Christelle's Pile et Face tour 6 stars if I could! Her tour of beautiful Martinique was a highlight of our recent Southern Caribbean cruise. Her communication via email prior to our tour was prompt and she was always responsive to our questions. She met us promptly at 9 AM for the 5.5 hour tour in her large, comfortable van. She was so knowledgeable about the history and culture of the island.
The tour included stops and brief walks at numerous historic and scenic sites and at each stop she served samples of island snacks, fruits, and beverages including local beer, wine and a stop at a distillery for rum tasting. She was organized, engaging, accommodating and professional. She had anticipated and carefully planned every aspect of the tour--She even provided virtual reality glasses for passengers with mobility issues who were not comfortable climbing steps in the rain forrest.
I highly recommend this tour for an informative, fun and relaxing day in Martinique!

What a great day in Martinique
We spent a lovely day with Christelle with Karambole tours on our recent cruise stop in Martinique. Pre-tour communications were excellent, and she was prompt and easy to find when we got off the ship. Christelle was a delight during the “Pile et Face” tour, telling us all about her island with obvious pride. Her tour is well planned out and encompassed the highlights of the island. In addition, she prepared some local foods and beverages to serve at all our stops along the way, enriching the experience. Her van was comfortable and she was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We would not hesitate to contact her again on our next visit.
