- philH5987NT0 contributionsCaptain Marvin's is Simply the Best!Coming to Grand Cayman and want to have the best water experience possible? Than you have to go with Captain Marvin's and no one else! We went to the world famous Sting Ray City before making 2 more stops to snorkel on the reefs (tour #4). The High Rider crew was just amazing ensuring our safety first and then making sure we had the best possible experience on the water. We've been to the islands many times, but this was the best charter we have bee on yet!Written 26 February 2024
- Christina M0 contributionsWonderful Parasailing ExperienceWe had a wonderful parasailing experience! Captain Marvin and his first mate Smiley Face were very welcoming. They accommodated our pick-up request. The boat was in good condition. They provided clear instructions. The view and flight were amazing! We would definitely book with them again.Written 14 December 2023
- JimRiesterer0 contributionsBio-bay tour: like being in avatar movieWe had an AMAZING time on the bioluminescence tour with captain Suga Suga Bear and Michael. We were very fortunate for sunny hot weather (that recharges the plankton), no rain and no moon (so as better to view the effects). There were three stops on the 2-hour tour beginning at starfish point then on to jelly fish point but the highlight was the bio-bay. With calm waters in this extra salty bay, the plankton glow with a bluish light when agitated by motion in the water. You are provided with a thin stretch onesie to guard against the small annoyance of mini jelly fish (stink is like a mosquito bite-a bit itchy) then get in the shallow dark water with a snorkel and mask. With your head down the effect you see is like something out of the Avatar movie-each breast stroke stimulates thousands of time bluish flashes in the water. WOW! Just take you time and spread out a bit and maybe circle the boat to the darker side for greatest effect. Mesmerizing! Having been on the island for 5 days doing most everything-this was the best, most memorable experience of our vacation. A MUST do! And be sure to go with Captain Marvin (or sister company Sweet Spot) for their environmental sensibility and fun crew.Written 4 December 2023
- W4166OPjenniferv0 contributionsGreat experience - Stingray City TourWe did the stingray city tour and it was incredible. We were able to start with snorkeling in one area, boated to the stingrays where we got to hold them and feed them, and then finally boated to the barrier reef for more snorkeling. Leo, Mitchell and Polo were fantastic and so much fun!Written 4 November 2023
- jleto8150 contributionsParasailingHow much is parasailing for a tandem with Capt. Marvin and what hotels can you book it at on Grace Bay? We paid 75.00 each and it was well worth it. Enjoy everyone.Written 1 October 2023
- Voyage7241190 contributionsWe went on a snorkeling trip to Stingray City. We booked only 1 day in advance and the cost was $98US for 2.They will pick you up from anywhere and drop you off. The tour consisted of 2 stops, 1 to swim with stingrays, and 1 out further to see various undersea life. They provide water and fruit punch but no other food. The stingray stop was for about 10-30 minutes and they allow you to feed, hold and even kiss (for 7-yrs good luck) the stingrays. The water here is waist-deep. No danger. The undersea stop was for about 40 minutes and they provided us with snorkeling mask and flippers. They also make sure everyone is safe and watch out for people who are not strong swimmers since the water is 10-20ft deep. We really enjoyed it and the crew of Mitchel, Richard, and Paulo were entertaining. Well worth the money. Would go again. Thanks guys.Written 9 September 2023

- 156burkl0 contributionsWhat a blast!Incredible…we had a blast. Captain Walter and Smiley Face were the perfect hosts and companions — two hours of parasailing, taking in the island and feeding the iguanas. Perfect trip, we wouldn’t change a thing. We’ll be back next year…!Written 19 July 2022

I can’t recommend them enough!! It was my first time parasailing and I loved every minute of it. We didn’t bring our phone and they used their phone to take some pics and sent them to us on WhatsApp. You can’t go wrong with Captain Marvin! I have nothing but good things to say about the experience and hope to go back. Thank you Marvin and Bob!!Written 27 December 2021
- JavierGN7270 contributionsShort but sweetThe experience of parasailing was fantastic. The crew was nice and effective, so we were in the air in no time. My only comment is that I wish we would have been in the air for at least half an hour. It felt like in 15 minutes we were just stepping out of the boat. However, I do recommend doing this activity as the scenic views are breathtaking in Turks & Caicos.Written 8 November 2021

We did the stingray, snorkeling, and starfish tour at 10:30. For a family of 5 this was the best value. At each stop at least one of the men (Suger, Jimbo, and Polo) on our boat (North Sounder) got into the water with us and would point out things to look for. At Stingray City, they took pictures of everyone with a stingray and at the end, you could purchase the pictures if you wanted. Suger, Jimbo, and Polo were very knowledgeable and were watching out for everyone’s safety, the entire time. If we come back to the Cayman Islands, we will take another trip with Captain Marvin’s.

My husband and I went parasailing for the first time in Provo and it was fantastic. We booked two days before and there were only 3 of us on the boat for the 9am slot. Capt. Marvin picked us up right from the beach. Clear communication and professional.

Went parasailing with the hubby and my two kiddos ages 12 and 10 on 8/20/21. First things first, I’m afraid of heights, but I’m spontaneous, which should explain how I ended up parasailing. I never ever thought I would do something like this, but I did. I almost backed out several times but my hubby and daughter wanted to do it so I sucked it up. It was amazing, didn’t feel scary like I thought it would which is crazy to me. It was relaxing and really very pretty. If you are afraid of heights, don’t think that you can’t do this. You can and you will be happy you did! Captain Marvin and a staff arrived by boat at the Ritz Carlton and we hopped in the boat. There was already a couple on the boat so I figured they would be parasailing with us; however, after they picked us up they dropped them off so they had already been. They immediately suited up my hubby and son cause I was not going first. They ask about weight and the heaviest person goes out to sit on the back of the boat first to prepare then comes the lightweight person. You are sitting down with your legs in front of you as they lift you off. It’s pretty smooth. You can dip your feet in and then you are in the air about 12 minutes or so. We took pictures and video and when it was me and my daughter’s turn the same process occurred. They bring you in and the entire thing (take off and landing) was not bumpy at all. Definitely a must do.

My sons and I were excited to go parasailing for the first time and booked Captain Marvin because of the good reviews. Due to high winds, my original booking was cancelled and we ended up re-booking later in the week. We were on time to meet the boat and greeted Capt. Marvin and his crew warmly. From the moment we saw them, it was obvious that they were grumpy and they barely said hello at all. We asked if my husband and other son could ride along (on the empty boat) and they said not without paying for them. Then, the Capt. rudely said we would have to pay on the boat because our other booking had been cancelled… I said that was totally fine but then questioned whether he wanted to take us out at all (because of his tone snd demeanor). He pulled away and I was feeling very uncomfortable. My youngest son (who is usually a date devil) began getting worried and the first mate/captain did not say one encouraging word or even tell him what to expect. They were all business and immediately began putting on our harness and safety gear. They did not engage me or my 9 & 11 year old in any way whatsoever. Within no time, they were strapping us in and my 9 year old was in tears. They still didn’t say a word and I was trying to stay positive for my boys although I was super uncomfortable at this point. We took off and were in the air but, it was hard to relax once we got up. It was extremely windy and I was trying to calm my son down for the first several minutes. On a positive note, the view was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking and you could truly see the entire island. After about 10 minutes and a still nervous son, we asked to come back in. Still no conversation and Marvin didn’t even ask how it was. They unhooked us and brought us right back to the resort. When we got there, I paid and was charged more $ than my original booking. Captain Marvin was rude, again, and demanded that was what I owed. I was so uncomfortable (being alone w/two angry men) that I just took my boys and got off as quickly as I could. Although we must have gotten Captain Marvin on an off day, I absolutely cannot recommend him to anyone wanting to parasail. Out of all the vendors/tours that we used during our trip, this was the worst.

We had a very poor experience with this excursion. My mother and I were picked up by Captain Marvin on his boat after we were promised by someone on the shore in red (he called himself Joe) that Captain Marvin would be able to bring us back to shore before 10am (check out time is at 11am at the hotel we were staying at and we wanted to leave enough time to pack). Joe said that there would be no problem with this.
However, after we got on the boat, we saw a couple already on board and then Captain Marvin made another stop at another hotel to pick up another couple. At this time, it was around (9:30a) and each couple would take about 15 min each, which would put us over the 10am time frame that was promised that we would be back by.
We made sure that Captain Marvin was aware of our time constraints of being back by 10am and that we were concerned that we would not be back in time by then. However, Captain Marvin rudely responded that we were not supposed to be on his boat. He then said he would take us back to shore.
However, this did not happen. Instead of taking us back to shore, even despite knowing our time constraints, Captain Marvin decided to take us all further to sea without any explanation. It was at that point that he decided to have the other couples go parasailing while we waited for them. After they were done parasailing, Captain Marvin inexplicably packed up the parachute.
In confusion, we asked why we were not able to go parasailing as we were already out to sea. Captain Marvin rudely responded that he would not allow us to go parasailing. He then took us all back to shore.
I believe that this was very unprofessional and unfair of Captain Marvin. It was a poor decision not to take us back to shore after knowing our time constraints and not even letting us go parasailing, despite Captain Marvin picking us up for that purpose. And when he took us all out further to sea, he should’ve let us go first since time was a factor for us. This unfortunately ruined our experience with Captain Marvin and tainted our morning.
It is for these reasons that I would not recommend using Captain Marvin’s Watersports.

Good morning, it would be nice if you were to be truthfUllapool in your writing as you know that you are not mentioning the real reason as to why you didn't get to parasail was your mother and her very nasty attitude on the boat when like I told her when she started that the other guests onboard were the ones booked and not you, there was never any discussion of you getting on and being brought back to your hotel by 10am, had we been told that we would not have taken you on the boat in the first place, we will always reserve the right to refuse service to guests that are rude and think that they can belittle you and you should be happy with their behaviour.
Long story shot, you know like I did that the only person being rude and unprofessional was your mother,..

We booked parasailing with captain Marvins’ 2 days in advance. Did it with my 5 year old son. They came to pick us up 10 minutes before starting time directly on grace bay in front of our hotel. They were two on board, the captain and a spotter in charge of constantly looking at us. Guys were very nice and equipped us. Felt safe and professional. They took tons of picture of us and videos. Really appreciated. The experience is amazing really worth it and I recommend using captain Marvins’.

The parasail ride, itself, was fine. However, the crew was not friendly at all. We were made very much to feel like we were just a number -- get on the boat, sit down, put on your harness / life jacket, stand up here, sit down, off you go, etc. There was no smile, no thank you, no friendly conversation or tips for what to look for when you're up in the air. We felt like we were an inconvenience and not an appreciated customer. We were on vacation and excited about this activity, and we paid a lot of money for our 15 minutes in the air. Would it have been so difficult to provide a happy experience and a little customer service?

My husband and I booked a tour with Captain Marvin after reading the many positive reviews, and we are certainly glad we did.
Captain Marvin was - above all - diligent and professional, and made me feel confident that our ride would be a safe one. He told us that he has had 20+ years of experience in Turks & Caicos watersports and parasailing tours, and I felt extremely safe from the moment I walked on the boat and started talking to him. I have only parasailed once before (20+ years ago), and my sister sends me every horrific watersports-accident story she can find, so I have since become a bit leery of going parasailing again.
I felt all of that go away when Captain Marvin strapped us in, explained what we should do once in the air, and told us the actions we could take if we got nervous while on the ride. He was both thorough and friendly, and we had an amazing ride where we could see every part of the island while floating amongst the clouds. It was truly the best watersports activity we did while on the island, and I now want to return with my 16 and 1 1 year old kids so they can experience a Captain Marvin parasailing tour as well.
Thank you Captain Marvin for an awesome trip!!!

Perfect husband and son in his 20s. Booked last ride of the day while sitting on the beach. Was at first worried blindly booking with a company so last moment but went for it. Literally with in 10 mts of booking a different company came by to sell a ride I laughed and explained I just booked he asked with who and even he confirmed that's a good company and to have fun (he was definitely with a different company shirt and all!)
They gave my husband and son a fabulous ride and a great time.

My 7 year old son and I loved parasailing with Capt Marvin Watersports on the last day of December. It was so much less scary than I thought, and in fact quite poetic, like being in a magical, air swing.
My only small quip was that considering my son is 7, they could have been friendlier toward him. They were a bit business-like in their way and I get that they are out there all day doing these and our trip was in the later afternoon but...7.
Still, we got down and he wanted to go back up immediately so that's the best review anyone could give.

Hello I have a question about the length of time spent in the air. If there is a group of 12 people, how is the excursion only 1 hour long from start to finish? That does not seem like enough time.
