- melodyc1090 contributionsHistory, Art, Wine and Chocolates in 2.5 HoursWe had a great 2.5 hours with Charles who took us through the picture spots and historical sights of Nassau. While all of these spots (which included the Queen’s Staircase, the Central Bank, the fort lookout, and a number of historical buildings) were walking distance to the port, the tour was so much worth it because Charles lead the way and provide us with history and stories from a local. For art lovers, we also passed by the small art gallery. As a “bonus”, Charles brought us to a free wine tasting - we liked it so much that we paid $5 to get six more shots and even bought a bottle. We also visited a chocolate factory (Graycliff) and taste a bonbon, and a rum factory which had a bar. The tour begun at their office and ended up at the Straw Market - both very walkable to the port.Written 5 July 2024

- 486karm0 contributionsExcellent walking tour of NassauFantastic walking tour of Nassau, the young man that was our guide (apologies for not remembering his name) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We got to see far more than if we'd opted to explore on our own. Would definitely recommend!Written 24 March 2024
- mariaseattle190 contributionsKind, intelligent, safety minded guide, needs more historical depthThe place was easy to find and Ritchie is a kind, smart young man who knows the city well and is very courteous, reassuring and was constantly checking with us to make sure we were doing well. He was non stop looking out for our safety from incoming traffic and bumps/potholes we were navigating. He has a great sense of humor and evident depth of thinking. However, we are more history curious people and felt his presentation lacked substance. I wish he had given us more historical background for the city as well as referenced the different buildings’ history. Personally we are not interested in wine and chocolate tasting or purchasing, we chose to skip , wished we heard more about the history of that neighborhood. I loved that he pointed to several of the local plants and trees, and shared with us a bit about his family and local culture! Maybe we should have picked a historical tour of Nassau, if that existed.Written 22 March 2024

Richie was entertaining and well-informed, and we had a super enjoyable 3 hours with him! Learned lots, and also got to see some places that we never would have walked to on our own! He was very safety- conscious and we felt very comfortable. Nice young man who was easily able to relate to us 3 middle-aged ladies.Written 15 March 2024

If you are ever in Nassau, I recommend starting your visit with a Dilly Dally Bike Tour! Our guide, Vincent, was excellent! He took us to so many historic, cultural and fun sites on the island while always ensuring our safety as we biked. The tour gave us a great overview of the city so we could revisit a few of the places the following day and spend more time there. Thanks Vincent and Dilly Dally Bike Tours!

From start to finish, Vincent made this tour very fun. He was very knowledgeable and shared interesting stories and observations throughout the ride. We stopped several times along the route where Vincent shared his knowledge of the area and people. My favourite part was the community garden, where you could eat every ripe fruit for free! This bike tour is a great way to see the city, beyond the usual tourist spots and get some exercise.

Vincent was a great guide, and really worked at showing us around. The bikes are pretty new, beach cruiser models with back-pedalling brakes, which take a bit of getting used to, at least for me from England where these aren't common. There are few gentle inclines, but nothing that is taxing really. You don't cover big distances either.
There was a lot of information about the plants and trees of the area, which was great, sometimes a bit too much? Perhaps more stories about the people or history would be better. The riding is in the local traffic for the most part, but Vincent took care to get us across crossings and roads safely. I did enjoy some of the routes in quieter streets more though.
There's an earpiece to hear his audio tour while cycling, and that works pretty well. Vincent also took care of us at a cafe at the Fish Fry, but one of the party had a fish allergy so their food options were limited. You might want to let him know in advance if this would apply to you as well, I'm sure he'd be very accommodating.
I really enjoyed the trip, and it was great to get a structured insight into the downtown area, rather than just wandering around myself. I'd strongly recommend the tour overall.

Hello Danny!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such an insightful review and share your experience with us and future visitors about your recent bike tour! We are always excited to hear about areas where we can improve as we truly want to give the best possible experience. With that said, we definitely took your advice about food allergy inquiries prior to the start of the tour and giving the right mix of information regarding history, culture and vegetation. Vincent enjoyed pedaling through paradise with you and we hope that your travels bring you back to Nassau again. Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your vacation memories!

My partner and I really enjoyed our historical bike tour with Vincent. He had something interesting or fun to say about every site we visited, and pointed out noteworthy buildings, trees or bits of history along the way. We had a delicious and memorable lunch, and a good workout on the cruiser bikes (no gears and pedal backwards to break). We loved the Queen’s Staircase,Graycliff house, Watlings Distillery, the cigar factory and community garden. Plenty of stops and opportunities to see (and taste) local specialties. Treat yourself and do this tour! :D

Charlie and his wife were delightful. Great bikes and couldn't ask for a closer location from the cruise port in Nassau. The bikes were bright orange with baskets, helmets and a lock provided. The cost of $25 USD per bike for 4 hours was well worth it! We returned late knowing there'd be an extra charge but didn't realize we kept them later than they were open, so I recommend you ask what's the latest you can return them. They were very gracious upon our return.

This was one of the highlights of one of the best weeks of my life! Vincent was was fun, informative and real. He knew his history and showed us things pertaining to life today for many residents of Nassau. There was a good balance overall. I will say people taking this tour should be in decent physical condition. There were some tense and amusing moments when the lack of hand braking and inability to back spin the pedal occurred as muscle memory took over. That being said, I would highly recommend this tour for anyone, especially if you are with friends, with 4 or more hours to spend.

Hello Kimberly! Thank you for taking the time to share your bike tour experience. Vincent so enjoyed hosting your group. He's passionate about giving an authentic experience as well as a fun and safe one! It is an active tour (we heard somewhere that physical activity helps with retention, so we're emailing a quiz to you to see just how much you learned - just kidding!) We are so honored to have been a part of the sweet vacation memories! Best wishes to you!

This is not just a bike ride, but am interpersonal expierence that shows several different areas of beautiful downtown Nassau. Our tour guide was intelligent, informative, and fun. During our tour we were able to visit The Queens Stair Case, Ft Nassau, enjoy a wine tasting, have a couple shots of rum at a local distillery, visit the art gallery and enjoy some local chocolates/rum cake. We never once felt rushed during this expierence and made memories that will last a life time. I cannot reccomend Dilly Dally enough!

That's exactly what our guides are going for...the bikes just provide for the right pace and a fun experience. We are thankful to have been a part of your vacation memories and hope you come back and visit when you are ready to dilly dally through the streets of Nassau again! Best wishes!

We had a nice time on this excursion. I will say my review has NOTHING to do with the quality of our guide, Vincent, or the company. Rather, it was sooooo hot the day we went that all three in my party simply ran out of "gas" and got overheated/dehydrated.
When this happened, we asked our guide, Vincent, if we could leave the tour early. He was more than happy to accommodate our needs and help us. In fact, he was able to take the rest of our group on to the next destination (Fish Fry area) and then return and escort us back to the company office.
He never once grumbled or complained. Not only did he help us get the bikes back to the office he even arranged a taxi to return us to our hotel. That's SERVICE.
I would just say this: if you're there during warm weather be aware the ride is strenuous--be fully hydrated and rested. Also there is a fair amount of traffic on small streets.

So glad we took this bike tour around Nassau! Our guide, Spencer, was extremely nice, funny, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you want to learn some history of the island, see an lot, and get to know the culture. We stopped at so many interesting places, visited the local little shops, a variety of unique tastings, walked queen’s staircase, the fort, beautiful art museum, fun simple biking in the heart of the town. My only complaint would be that we thought the tastings were included with the tour price (yes we had very small complimentary tastes/bites at several stops, but we had to purchase something from the venue to get them.) Bring lots of cash!! Other than that, my husband and I truly enjoyed every minute. Thank you to Spencer and the Dilly Dally team!

Absolutely loved our tour w Archie. He was articulate and so incredibly knowledgeable of the history of his home island. My husband loves to ask a ton of questions and Archie kept up with him with ease. And to add to that, Archie is a lot of fun w a great personality!!! Definitely recommend this bike tour if you want to truly get to know the city and it’s history on a more personal level without a large group. Got lots of exercise while we were at it!! Thanks Archie!!

We will be coming off a Celebrity ship. Will you pick us up at the terminal or should we find our own way to you? How does the area look after the hurricane?
Written 28 December 2019
Hello Louise!
As you exit the ship, walk toward the left (eastern) exit gates of the terminal. Once outside the security gates, look for a uniformed representative from Dilly Dally Bike Tours, wearing a white shirt with the word "STAFF" on the back and holding a company sign. The rep will escort you on the one-minute walk to the Dilly Dally tour office, where you will check-in for your tour.
We are very thankful that Nassau and Paradise Island were unaffected by the Hurricane. While Abaco and Grand Bahama suffered massive damage, there has been much progress in recovery and a good number of resorts in Freeport have been reopened. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Does this tour really leave at 2:30 a.m.? I am on a cruise for the day and will be in port from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Written 16 October 2019
Hi! This tour runs twice per day. 10:00 am and 2:00 pm Each lasts 4 hrs. You would have enough time to board as the office is 1 minute away from the cruise terminal. The 2:30 am was a mistake that has since been fixed.
