- Q6741PLmichaels0 contributionsGreat tourThis was a great little tour. Shirat gave me a little history lesson along with answering all my questions about Unesco & how restorations were happening. He took me to places I might not have found on my own & he runs a pleasant liitle tea shop too. A true local.Written 30 November 2024
- laddie1350 contributionsAmazing viewsSlow train ride through beautiful countryside. Views amazing. Train was quite empty when I travelled maybe lucky. I was in 3rd class. Maybe go in second class for a more comfortable seat.Written 30 November 2024
- worldwanderer3330 contributionsA very enjoyable train ride.My husband and I had a lovely trip on the Amtrak train Blue Water from Flint, Michigan to Milwaukee - via Chicago. The ride was great, and smooth - we had Red Coat assistance in Chicago, helping my 80 year-old husband. The trains were very clean, modern, comfortable. The Chicago to Milwaukee is a commuter train, also very comfortable, clean, with professional staff assisting. And they were on time! there was assistance at the doors to the trains for those who needed it. My husband says that the best part of our trip to Michigan and Wisconsin was the train ride.Written 14 November 2024
- Travel051146424550 contributionsTravel down memory laneThe tour itself was educational. Got to know a lot on the history of Sri Lanka thanks to the guide Ashan - who is amazing. Enjoyed the bike ride, as Ashan fit to my needs overall.Written 10 November 2024

- Samir O0 contributionsGreat option if you’re staying in Ella! The safari was great! The transfer to and from Ella was seemless. Coordinator was very responsive via whatsapp. We got to see a leopard, elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, etc… the jeep driver knew very well where to go and made sure we did not miss that elusive Leopard when the chance presented itself! :)Written 1 October 2024

- timkH2910WU0 contributionsComfortabele safari with so many elephantsAwesome elephant safari! Our driver was super kind and besides the elephants that were easy to find he pointed out numerous animals in the trees such as a crocodile, specials bird and monkeys. Also the jeep was the most comfortable jeep we have ever road in. Tip! Our driver contacted us the day before to suggest we move the time and location to be able to see more elephants. We highly recommend you follow up on his expertise and experience. We saw around 75 elephants that day!Written 22 September 2024
- 359eveg0 contributionsGreat driver and great experience!Fantastic safari with our driver Asela! We saw so many animals - loads of elephants, some foxes, eagles, water buffalo and lots of other birds. The scenery is beautiful. Asela has great English and was very knowledgeable about the elephants and could answer all of our questions. Would definitely recommend!Written 14 September 2024
- J4325MSdanielh0 contributionsGreat safari!Asela was a brilliant guide - he took care of us and everything for the day! We must have seen 80+ elephants and plenty other animals during the safari.Written 9 September 2024
- ShariWestSussex0 contributionsGo early and avoid holy daysBuddha’s tooth was apparently snatched from his funeral pyre and smuggled in to Sri Lanka by a princess and here it is kept in a casket and is considered very holy. People come to make offerings and hope their prayers are answered. Beautiful flowers are sold at many stalls outside. One must not take photos of anyone in front of the buddhas. There is a memorial to a faithful elephant and people can light incense sticks for loved ones. Most people wear white. All must show respect by covering legs and shoulders. Shoes are not worn in the whole complex. 200 rupees to have them looked after. Go early and avoid holy days.Written 7 September 2024
- 44Vanessa0 contributionsGreat serviceHaving read other travellers’ experiences of not being able to secure train tickets we didn’t want to take any chances so book them in advance. The tickets came through via email and the agent was great and made regular contact via WhatsApp - even to check we were safely on the train. The train ride was great (only 1.5 hours late which we understand is quite good!) We booked first class seats as thought we would need the air conditioning but as it’s much cooler due to the altitude 2nd class would have bern equally good with the added benefit of being able to open the windows to take photos. However we could move around the train and were able to take plenty of photos of the magnificent views.Written 1 September 2024
- Matteo B0 contributionsGreat experienceGreat experience and great driver. We saw a lot of elephants, and the driver that took us around explained us lots of interesting things around all the wildlife we saw. Highly recommendedWritten 1 September 2024
