We had the pleasure of meeting Schaffee Passela, the new restaurant manager at the restaurant of the Mandarina Hotel in Colombo. He looked after our needs all the time. We also had a lot of interesting conversations with him at breakfast and dinner times. The breakfast buffet was quite good and varied. We also would like to mention Mohamed Hiras, the F&B Executive, who was very pleasant to speak to.

I didn't want to write a bad review because our guide was a very nice person but I have to do it that other travelers are not as disappointed as we are. Everything was very bad. Our guide was 40 minutes late We tried to reach him by phone but it didn't work, the support service didn't help a lot neither. The tour doesn't match the description at all. (I even thought that it was some kind of mistake on booking) It was sightseeing tour which we did not order . At the end of the tour, we were brought to the " food market", which is 5 food stands with exactly the same food (looks, smells and taste terrible). The last drop was that we had to paid for the food ourselves, although usually all food is included in the price of the tour. We agreed with the support service about a refund, but this never happened

Elephant shadow holiday tours didn't communicate until the last minute. Phone no in SL don't work. We contacted viator and was asked to wait until the company responded, and if not picked up for the tour then we'd receive a refund. This was ok... but not very helpful. I wouldn't recommend elephant shadow holiday tours unless they improve their performance in communication.
