About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 123claytonw0 contributionsAcapulco 6 hour tour. What a wonderful tour of Acapulco . Taken to places that you would not normally visit. Our experienced guides showed us the top attractions along with the local attractions while explaining the history of each area. The cliff divers were the main reason we booked the tour and was not disappointed. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has not been to Acapulco. Money well spent. .Written 13 October 2024
- N1707XXalana0 contributionsI love it amazing timeOne of the best experiences I had, Jose Mario is very knowledgeable & a great person to be around. I give him 10/10 recommendations for anyone coming to AcapulcoWritten 15 June 2024
- Experience5386940 contributionsFabulousFabulous! Rudy our guide was great! Perfect English with lots of details, informed us of all the past culture, and took us to perfect sunset spot, then to the cliff dive show. Let us stay as long as we wanted! Tons on fun!Written 23 May 2024
- pennycZ6504JC0 contributionsThe Best Way to experience the cliff divers!Just an incredible experience! Private tour on the Cliff Diver De Luxe excursion. Got a ton of historical info on the ride. A fantastic 3 course dinner and 2 drinks. Front row seats for the diving shows. Got to meet divers and loads of pictures. Well worth the money. Immerse yourself and enjoy. An epic memory. Our driver was beyond excellent! Highly recommended.Written 19 May 2024
- KootenayWanderer0 contributionsDon’t miss this tour for an authentic experience! The tour was simply fantastic! I never felt rushed at all! My guide Mario had so much knowledge of the local area and patiently answered all of my questions and made recommendations for excellent local restaurants and beaches! The tour took me all around the major spots of the city with all of the breathtaking views that Acapulco offers as well as through colourful local markets and neighborhoods rich and poor. This is such a beautiful place! The divers at la Quebrada were unbelievably brave! What an amazing sight! Mario made sure that I could meet the divers afterward and get photos with them. Mario also took me to some local places that would not be on an ordinary tour like a wonderful bakery where I was able to see the bakers working their magic and purchase some delicious freshly made items. He also made a quick stop at another location that wasn’t on the itinerary so that I could see it and get some photos! This tour does not waste your time trying to make you spend money in tourist traps which i really appreciated. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a passion for really learning about the heart and soul of Acapulco! 10 out of 10!Written 15 May 2024
- rakurz0 contributionsGreat City TourWe are staying at the Vidanta in Acapulco. The resort offers a city tour, but I thought it was kind of expensive. So I looked around and found this tour on TripAdvisor. We ended up with a private tour for my partner and I. Our driver/guide was Malu. She was VERY knowledgeable, friendly and did a great job explaining everything and telling us about the history of the city and the places we visited. We went to Las Brisas and the Chapel of Peace, visited the morning beaches (Caleta...), saw the Cliff Divers show, visited the Flamingo hotel, went to the Diego Murals, the Zocalo, and the Fort of San Diego. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend the tour and the company.Written 18 October 2023
- Quest486999577840 contributionsSpectacular Event, a must do if in AcapulcoBrilliant Experience in a great setting. Went at 19.00 just after sunset so the cliffs were floodlit. Watched a number of exhibitions , one with the floodlights off and the divers dived with flaming torches. Spectacular. The youngest diver we saw was 16 years of age but they do have a 13 year old . The eldest was in his 50,s. It’s a profession with divers serving an apprenticeship. It’s also a family thing ; grandfathers, fathers & sons . So dangerous.Written 25 September 2023
- Tamale6240 contributionsIncredible viewsThis is worth the visit if you want to see incredible views (Acapulco has so many) and stunning architecture. The gardens are a natural way to relax and bring peace to your heart.Written 12 September 2023
- Popeye-Mermaid0 contributionsA Night in AcapulcoA Great nighttime tour. As we ventured forth on our drive our Guides, Jesus and Mario, informed us of more history of Acapulco. As we traveled through the Tourist area we saw many intriguing sights. We visited the Las Flamingoes Hotel, built by Johnny Weissmuller and were many stars used to stay, for a drink while watching the sunset. We also saw many pictures of the movie star guest from the Hey Days of Hollywood. We headed to our dinner reservation. We were seated on the terrace facing directly down on the Cliff Divers area. We had a 3 course dinner. I had a local soup and my wife had a salad. Our entrees were a combination plater (steak, chicken, guacamole, black beans, and Quesada for me and lasagna for my wife. And then desert. All of the food was excellently prepared. Finally came the divers shows. We were lucky to enjoy 2 shows that night. Both were spectacular, looking right down the diving area. The divers included men and young people only 13 years old, male and female. We got a picture with 3 of the divers, later on. Again, Thanks to Jesus and Mario for such an enjoyable evening.Written 8 August 2023
- Popeye-Mermaid0 contributionsWonderful time in Acapulco.Great services. Quick pickup at the airport on day 1. Day 2's excursion was absolutely wonderful. We saw many sights in the city and learned about its history. We are thankful for MALU, MARIO & RUDY.Written 6 August 2023
- S5170VEashleym0 contributionsPerfect Honeymoon ExcursionMy husband and I went on this tour during our honeymoon and it was so much fun! The tour guides explained a lot of information about the city while we were driving up. It was great to hear about the local attractions from someone who lived and worked in the town. Once we got to the restaurant the service was excellent! Great options and great drinks! Our tour guide took photos for us so we didn't have to worry about capturing everything. The restaurant sits above where the divers jump so it's not an up-close experience but it is really classy and has a lot of old Hollywood charm. For our honeymoon, I think it was a good choice. There are boat tours that are more of a party, and the option to view from the deck and just head back but the dinner and a show aspect of it all was well worth it to us!Written 21 June 2023
- Journey450628475910 contributionsCliff divingAlways watched Wide World of Sports as a young kid. Our TV only had 3 channels back in the day. They made the cliffs look much bigger and higher. Still takes a lot of balls to jump into 12 feet of water. The Olympics training schools are better and doesn't cost a thingWritten 13 June 2023
- ronc3610 contributionsDon't Jump at going to this AttractionThis is a see once. Been there - Done that attraction. It is and can be dangerous for the divers to perform. To see them jump with a good view requires you to go down many, many steps to get there. It is almost impossible for the elderly to maneuver all these steps. The divers jump and then quickly run up the steps and have their containers out for tips. They dive for the money that people will give them. Curiosity gets you there but I personally don't think it's worth visiting. Watch it on YouTube for a good view of the diving. Just my personal opinion.Written 12 June 2023

It was a interesting city tour with 2 experienced city guides. Highlights were the cliff divers and the turtle release. Emotional moments. We got a lot of insights into the city life, the locations and the culture with enough flexibility to our own needs and interests. Recommandable tour.

My husband suggested to have 1/2 day city tour. I didn’t want to go at the beginning bcoz I didn’t like the idea of have turtle release as commercial. End up I changed my mind and joined the trip. It was 1/2 day trip. Certified guide, Mario, came to our hotel with the sign of our name. He started to talk about acapulco after we got on his car. Long story short, it was an eye open 1/2 day tour I ever have in mexico.
Mario was very knowledgeable. He explained all the questions we had. Especially when he took us to the turtle camp. I was speechless. A family style organization carried an important mission. I thought it was very commercial style but end up it touched my heart really. This short visit gave me a lot of insight about environment and our action towards it.
During the trip, Mario kept taking pictures of us. I didn’t know why but I didn’t bother to ask. Near the end of the tour, he told me that he would send the pictures back to us. It was very nice to share this with visitors.
Also thank you the boss(sorry forgot the name, Rody?) he was following up for us from the beginning to the end.
Thank for the tour.

The tour was great and Rudy was amazing. The tour included many sites but my favorite was experiencing the market. He took us into the local's market where we sat and sampled all kinds of authentic foods and drinks and even treated us ladies to a fan. He is extremely knowledgeable about historic and current events and shares this with you freely as well as answers your questions. The only disappointing portion of the tour which Rudy had NO CONTROL over was there weren't any baby turtles to release the day of our tour. He still took us to the camp so we could see the operation. He also called the following day and volunteered to come back to our hotel (free of charge) and pick us up with another group and take us that day to take part in the turtle release. Unfortunately, we couldn't as we were flying out that day. Bottom line.......TAKE THIS TOUR......you won't be disappointed!

My wife & I were a bit worried that the tour operator might not come to pick us up at the hotel we stayed. On the day of the tour, we asked the hotel front desk to call the tour operator to confirm if they were really coming to pick us up. Finally at 8:45am, we were greeted by Mario in our hotel lobby. That was the only worry we had for the arrangement.
Mario spoke perfect English & he was very knowledgeable tour guide! I was amazed by his profession. It was like a private tour as we were the only 2 in the tour. He first took us to the other side of Acapulco. On the way there was a spot to take the panoramic view of the city. He took us to the beach where we had a chance to release Golfina turtles. Then he took us to the Chapel of Peace, Marketplace, Cliff Divers(La Quebrada show), Los Flamingos Hotel, Diego Rivera's house. He even took us to his boss Rudy's house to see the full panoramic view of the city.
Mario took lots of pictures from his cell phone. And he also helped us to take pictures with our phones. The tour was concluded at ~2:30pm. Mario took my email address. he said he would send me the pictures that he took.
I have no issues but highly recommend this tour to anyone who hasn't yet joined any local tour in Acapulco.
A week later I did received an email from Rudy with the link to retrieve the photos that Mario took at the tour. Another surprise: there was a customized video with all the places we visited in the tour! I was extremely pleased! Thanks Rudy & Mario!

My wife and I really enjoyed holding baby turtles and sending them on their journey to the sea. We took endless pictures of the cliff divers with our cell phones. Great lunch at the seaside restaurant and shopping were the best way to experience the local area.

Rudy, Rodolfo, picked my sister and I up from our hotel on time. There was a little confusion on where we were supposed to meet, but it was settled quickly and we were off. There were 2 other guests on the tour, but because they also spoke English, Rudy gave the tour in English. We started at the turtle release and it was very beautiful. I didn't expect much from this stop, but it was surprisingly satisfying and a highlight for me.
From there we proceeded on the tour to the more affluent part of town and looked at some of the amazing homes of the wealthy along with some breathtaking views of the city. Our second stop was the Chapel of Peace, also very tranquil with beautiful views. Our final stop, after a lengthy tour around the city's various neighborhoods, was the cliff diving. Again, very worthwhile. Altogether, the tour was excellent and the commentary and attention by Rudy was great. I would definitely recommend it.
PS. Rudy very thoughtfully took pictures of use at each of the stops. He took our e-mail and said he would share the photos. I trust that he will, but as of yet we haven't received them.

Overall:
- Highly recommend this tour & tour operator. Good customer service.
- Friendly polite, interesting, bilingual (my guide was fluent in English & Spanish) guides.
I had Jose as my guide. Rudy confirmed my pickup location the night before. Jose arrived at my hotel early for my 9AM pickup.
We visited the following locations:
- Lookout point for Puerto Marquez
- Puerto Marquez lagoon
- Turtle Campground & baby turtle release
- Chapel of the Peace walkthrough
- Acapulco local market tour plus a stop for gorditas
- La Quebrada show at Hotel Mirador
- Los Flamingos Hotel
- Diego Rivera´s house
- Back to hotel (around 2:30 to 3pm, depending on traffic conditions)
Pros
- Many photo opportunities! Jose is a seasoned photographer and constantly offered to take photos of me at every tour stop.
- Jose is very knowledgable about Acapulco´s history and I enjoyed speaking with him.
- You get to see a lot of Acapulco in a day, including the day markets, which are a bit of a drive from the shoreline hotel areas.
- The turtle campground and baby turtle release is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The project owners had dozens of baby turtles that were only hours old ready for release. Check out the other animals on the property as well - most are friendly.
Good to Know:
- Your tour guide will ask to take your photo on your own devices AND his or her device. Toward the end of your tour, the tour guide will ask for your email address so that Rudy can email you a video montage of your day trip. You can also just ask to be emailed all of the photos.
- Bring extra water & apply SPF for the tour. More often than not, your tour day will be very sunny and you will be outside for about 70% of the tour.
- Wear comfortable shoes.

Our day in Acapulco was awesome, the tour picked us up directly at the cruise terminal and away we went. Alex was very knowledgeable about Acapulo and ensured we had a great experience, from the turtle release to the cliff divers. The tour provides a great overview of the different locations, vantage points and sights which Acapulco has to offer as well as some of its history including some of the rich and famous people who frequent Acapulco both past and present. A great day for the entire family.
