      Great taste of Mexico
Martin was a great teacher! So friendly and knowledgeable. Loved that we started the class with a trip to the market for the ingredients. The mole was delicious.

We booked this directly via the Choco Museo website. This was a very interactive and fun experience! In the end you will go hole with your personal batch of mole and the recipe for your future enjoyment. We highly recommend to learn local culture!

Great experience. Learned a lot and ate a lot. We made truffles and fancy chocolates and got to take a lot home with us. Rodrigo was a great teacher. We had a great time.

Returned to the Choco Muséo for the first class of this trip. Eclairs! The instructor, Ney, was excellent. Knowledgeable and great at teaching. I can’t wait for the other two classes I’ll be taking next week!

Chocolate classes, cafe or gifts for home -- come here!
We had such amazing time on our last two trips we came back to buy more chocolate. Chef Rod taught us so much about the history of cacao from bean to bar and helped us make our own delectable treats in one class. In another I made traditional chicken with mole sauce - absolutely scrumptious. Buy your chocolate gifts here, rather than on the Malecon, where the quality of the chocolate may not be as pure. If you like spice, try the chili, but the cinnamon and ginger are also very good. Find out for yourself!

      Tour for chocoholics
The tour host was very knowledgeable about chocolate and extremely personable. The small group concept made it more like a get together rather than a tour

A wonderful experience. Too much chocolate??
Rod was great! And so was the other couple we met on the tour. This was the most fun event we had all week, and the chocolates we made were Amazing. Rod was entertaining, knowledgeable and patient with my unique flavoring choices, lol. Thank you so much for a delightful (and useful!) morning!

      Great fun and delicious chocolate!
This class was so much fun! You actually learn to, and make, the most delicious truffles I've ever had. Rod, our instructor was both fun and informative. My family and I did this class together and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

Fun, informative, yummy, just do it!
It was a great class. Rodrigo was a fun teacher and really knew his stuff. He explained things so well it was easy to follow instructions. Our chocolates came out great. We got to choose our own flavors from a multitude of ingredients/flavors. We were all successful and went home with boxes full of yummy homemade chocolates! It was great.

Step by Step Mole Poblano Class
What a fun experience. We were able to go to the market to purchase all the items for our mole before coming back & having a hands-on experience creating the mole with five other class members & our excellent instructor.

      Fun Workshop for all ages
This class is a lot of fun and makes you appreciate all the techniques that go into making truffles. Rodrigo was our instructor and he is not only knowledgeable but so much fun. His high energy and sense of humor is infectious! You can tell he is passionate about making chocolate. If you have Rodrigo as your instructor, you will be in for a special treat! Plus you will take home some delicious chocolate that you made.

      Delicious and down to earth!
Very well put together and overall mellow learning experience! Mole is a complicated dish that Mouan guided us through with ease. The market trip was a sweet way to gain close up knowledge of how food fits into Puerto Vallarta's culture and daily life, and Mouan has a lot of firsthand experience and smart thoughts to share -- thank you for a fulfilling day, Mouan!

This was a lot of fun and educational. Mouan (I hope I spelled that correctly!) was an excellent teacher! He made the session go by so quickly, sharing information, and engaging all of the participants. We got to try a couple of different chocolate drinks, learn about the history of chocolate, and make our own treats to take home. I went by myself but will go again so my husband can go along as I'm sure he would enjoy it, too!

This was a fun two hour experience. Basically what it says. They take you from the bean to chocolate . Small shop with a museum on the history of chocolate that I recommend walking thru prior to the class. Found the location very easily just walking down the malecon. Instructor was fun and knew her stuff. They have other classes that I may check out on next trip . Truffles etc

Never thought I’d be able to make my own chocolates but Rodrigo taught us how in three hours of tasting and making chocolate delights! He was so much fun we hardly realized how much we were learning about the history of chocolate! We tasted liquid chocolate ending with a delicious cardamom laced hot chocolate. Couldn’t believe the pretty bars I made and how delicious they are. Can’t wait to share with friends when we get home ( if they last that long!lol) If you want to treat yourself to a delicious/nutritious afternoon this class at the Choco Museum is a winner!

It was an OK experience but not really worth the price. The description makes it seem like you'll be doing more than what actually happens. You get chocolate that has already been melted, can pick some additions, and pour it in a mold. You get to unhusk some cacao beans and mush them into a paste. Other than that you're just listening. It was educational and interesting, but it didn't feel worth the $830 MXN.

Also don't get there too early because they have you just standing around in the small space until everyone who has signed up arrives. They only have 1 small bathroom for everyone to wash their hands which takes a good chunk of time if you have a large group, especially if you have to wait for someone else who is using the toilet first. Really an inefficient setup for a class which can get fairly large.

If you're mobility impaired, realize you may have to go up two flights of stairs depending on which room your class will be held.

    Beautiful views, though.

I am sorry you did not enjoy so much our Bean to Bar chocolate Workshop. We have unfortunately no space to make another bathroom. We do have a large tasting area that you can enjoy, though, while all the guests get ready to start. We have other workshops that may be more to your liking, like the truffles workshop in which you actually temper chocolate on the marble, make a ganache, filled chocolates and truffles. We also have a Mole Poblano workshop, you make this sauce from scratch with 25 ingredients that you previously shop at the local market and you eat it at the end of the class with chicken and rice. I hope you have a great stay in Puerto Vallarta.

I would have rated a “5,” but they seated 11 (max states 8) and too much wasted time sitting and waiting for the extra 3 kids on almost every step. They didn’t want to limit the class to 8, per website, and miss out on $$$.
Lizzie was very informative and fun with her presentation. A lot of hands on interaction. Make and mold your own chocolate bars or bites. Roast beans, shell beans, grind beans, etc. It was a lot of fun.

I am sorry there was more than 8 people in your group. Most of our workshops are organized with 2 or 4 people. However, sometimes, we have several reservations at the same time and we end up with more people than we would have liked. I am glad you still enjoyed your Bean to Bar chocolate workshop.

This was a unique and very fun experience. We took a fermented Coco bean all the way to a Coco paste that you could make hot chocolate with. During the session we were also taught about the history of chocolate, which was quite informative and fun. The first thing we did was took some refined chocolate and put it in a chocolate mold of our choice and added whatever ingredients like coconut, or nuts or a variety of other things to our little candies. We got to take those candies home when we were done as well as the Coco paste that we made during the lesson. All in all it was an amazing fun and unique experience. Also, I liked how the group was very small, which made it a more intimate experience. I would definitely recommend it.

We went to the truffles class and it was a good 2 hours. Rodrigo was funny, informative and truly made it a barrel of fun. It was worth every penny as it was educational, fun and you go home with boxes of chocolate. It’s a long process so now I know why good chocolate is so expensive.

Loved the whole experience. We had chocolate served in drink form like they drank 2,500 years ago & then like the Euopeans drank it in 1800 & got to roast some & make our own bars. It was delicious & we even saw whales breaching outside our window (we were on the 3rd floor & had a great view) Highly recommend!

Must do activity for chocolate lovers!! The shop is so cute and employees are super friendly. Our 7 year old son loves chocolate even up to 80% cacoa chocolate. We arrived a little early to the museum for the bean to chocolate workshop so the young man working gave us a little pre sampling of chocolate 60% to 100% while we waited.

Fernanda was our guide for the workshop. She was so knowledgeable, super friendly and personable. We were pleasantly surprised she was local since her English was very fluent with a subtle Spanish accent. The workshop delivered more than we expected. We made several bars of chocolate to take home at the end, so wonderful and delicious. Truly enjoyed the entire workshop from learning a little history to working with the whole cacao bean to sampling the chocolate drinks we helped make.

For adults who love chocolate, this experience money well spent! For those with younger kids, I would say it depends on how patient and interested they are in learning about chocolate from tree to bean to chocolate. They recommend 8 years although we still booked for our chocolate loving 7 year old.

This was one memorable experience and a highlight of our vacation in Puerta Vallarta!! Beautiful views in the workshop and conveniently located for tourists.
