About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Venture5954860 contributionsEnjoyable, but maybe it's not for everyone...We purchased this tour from a Gray Line agent after we arrived at our resort in Puerto Vallarta. We wanted to see some of the city instead of just the resort. After paying for the tour, I checked reviews online to learn more about the tour. I was shocked to find very negative reviews, and nearly cancelled our tour. Fortunately, my wife talked me into going through with it. We had an enjoyable time seeing the Malecon, The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and taking part in a tequila tasting. We also visited a leather shop, and a jewelry store. The last stop was a Mexican restaurant. The food portions are very large, but we were told we could order a half portion. Even the half portion seemed large to us. The food seemed to be very authentic. The guide was entertaining, and it seemed like every stop provided a location for a washroom break. The only really negative thing was that I thought the tour staff could do a better job of keeping track of their guests. We enjoyed our city tour. I think the problem of the negative reviews are because people were expecting more a shopping or sight seeing tour, but this seems to me to be more of a cultural tour.Written 9 February 2025
- 345jazmined0 contributionsA TOTAL SCAM$95USD for someone to wait in line for a Taxi for you which is about a $20-$25USD taxi ride to and from the hotel. My partner and I were staying at the RIU Palace in Puerto Vallarta, he decided to get the transportation so that we wouldn't have to wait in line for a taxi. We have used other companies before and they'll have a car/van pick you up privately or in a group and you go on your merry way. This time it was completely different. We got out the airport and we see the guy in the shirt, he tells us to stay in the shade and wait. We are there waiting over 30 minutes. We start looking around for this man in the Grayline t-shirt just to see him standing in the back of a line for a taxi. So what was the point in paying a service for them to not only Not have a car ready but also for them to be just grabbing you a regular taxi that I could've waited in line for and had gotten myself. A total scam but for next time we know. AND BTW, the taxi's out there can't scam you. They have a price sheet they have to follow, so don't be scared to just grab your own.Written 5 February 2025
- wendyo8540 contributionsExcellent assistance with tours! We met 2 wonderful, very helpful people to set up our tours with. They work at Dreams in Puerto Vallarta, but could help anyone who needs them. Both Arture & Alex took the time to go over different options with us, gave us better prices than we found elsewhere & helped to make sure everything was taken care of. We did 3 trips with them. A city tour, a whale watch & a private sailboat. All 3 trips were GREAT & the guys asked us about our day every time we came back. I had a problem with a cab coming back from a pier, called them by phone & they cleared up that mess much easier than I ever could have. We felt very fortunate to work with them & I would use them again given the chance. Arture +52 322-203-6852 Alex +52 322-135-0710Written 3 February 2025

- michellebZ2893XG0 contributionsGreat overview of the city - knowledgeable guide and safe driver! This was a great overview of some of the main highlights of the city. We did it early on in our trip to get oriented to the city and I’d say it did a good job of that. Our guide, Jaime (“Jimmy”) was hilarious and super kind and knowledgeable about the city. Our driver, Carlos (“Charlie”), kept us safe and got us where we needed to go in a timely fashion. We got to walk along the malecon, visit the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, went to a tequila tasting (learned a lot and the tequila was genuinely so good!!), visited a jewelry shop that specializes in Mexican fire opal and a leather shop with tons of leather goods. The last stop on the tour is lunch at a small restaurant in the mountains. Do make sure to bring plenty of cash because you’ll need it to tip your driver and your guide, as well as the restaurant staff and the musicians at the end of the tour. Most places along the tour either offer discounts if you pay cash or have a minimum purchase amount if paying with a card. For example we wanted to purchase about $300 MX worth of souvenirs but because of the minimum purchase requirement at the shop we had to spend $600 MX - not a huge deal but more than we were prepared for. The tequila place offered a 5% discount if you paid in cash. The lunch at the end is not included in the tour price. While the portions are fairly generous, each platter was around $60-65 USD. The meals are sold as large platters and there isn’t really an option to order something smaller, at least not that we saw. We purchased one platter and it was plenty for two adults. Drinks are sold separately, and tips are not included in the meal price. We have an all inclusive resort so in hindsight if we were to do it again we probably would have just purchased drinks at the restaurant and then gotten lunch back at our resort, but that’s just us. Our favorite part of the lunch was that it was in the rain forest right next to a stream. We got to watch the wildlife as we are which was so relaxing.Written 20 January 2025
- GiddyUpNGoTravel0 contributionsCautiously goodBe careful, the Website data entries did not match the actual hotel zone and pricing. Greyline associate corrected the shuttle number. Wait times for shuttles is a 15+ minutes in a chaotic area. Staff is friendly and courteous.Written 18 January 2025

- 445kyrav0 contributionsOn time, friendly, and helpful! We booked with Grayline ride services for our vacation to Puerto Vallarta. They were waiting for us at the airport, and we met with Ramon the first morning of our stay. Ramon recommended some excellent tours (Bahía Alegre and Las Caletas). There were strong tides on the first tour preventing us from completing our activities, but Ramon was extremely helpful and we were able to go again and enjoyed the tour a lot. We always received a quick response to questions and concerns. It was a pleasure to book with Grayline and Ramon, our vacation went smoothly with their help!Written 1 January 2025
- 186marchells0 contributionsMust Do!!!..Danny the pirate and his crews are amazing. Food is awesome and service was great. Danny was our pirate and he's AWESOME!. Thanks for everything; we had a great time and you have to do this. Out of all the excursion, this was far the best. It gets chilly at night with the wind so be sure to wear sweater... Other than that, this is a great night tour, great food and great service. Thanks again Danny the pirate; take care budWritten 30 December 2024
- Saskguy1550400 contributionsGreat Hotel TransferWe’ve used Gray Line twice in Puerto Vallarta over the past two months to go from the airport to our hotel. We booked with their online app. Both times the app was easy, they were never surprised to see us, were on time (or earlier), had clean cars and polite drivers. Highly recommended. My only comment if the company is reading this is to add Hotel Mousai as a hotel option on the pull down menu. Garza Blanca was there (same property as Mousai) but was a little confusing and first timers may not know that.Written 28 December 2024
- 169betsyf0 contributionsAvoid this oneI purchased a shore excursion for myself and my party (4 including myself) for a City Tour with lunch in Puerto Vallarta for November 28, 2024. I want to tell you how unhappy we all were with this tour. It started more than 30 minutes late; we were not advised beforehand to expect considerable walking, and our guide told us very little about the city. Except for a brief view of the town boardwalk and a visit to the cathedral where mass was being held so we couldn't visit inside, our guide was very concerned that we stop at several shopping venues where we were left without access to the bus we'd traveled on. All of us felt that the guide was getting kickbacks from the shops for bringing us. Twice we ended up standing on the dirty streets in the heat waiting for up to 30 minutes for the bus to reappear. For lunch, we were taken to a town about 35 minutes away from our ship, arriving just after 3:30 p.m. by which time we were all very thirsty and hungry (no water or snacks available on the bus). After repeatedly telling the guide that our ship's last call to board was at 4:30 pm, we had very little time (10-15 minutes) to eat lunch and race back to the ship, barely getting there before the deadline. All of the people in my party were very stressed out and disappointed with this excursion.Written 4 December 2024
- dtchs0 contributionsPoorly run misnamed shopping trip. Avoid!First, we had to do a lot of walking—mostly on cobblestones. No way to identify us or guide except he wore an orange shirt. Tour left 11am after 2/10 mile walk to bus parked on side street. Except for the church, this was a shopping trip to specific shops which I suspect are giving kick backs to the guide and/or company. We didn’t get to go to lunch until 3:15pm at a place about 35 min from cruise terminal. Last call at ship was 4:30!! Very stressful. Food was good as was the location, but very hurried so some mistakes were made. We were late returning to cruise terminal but thankfully didn’t miss the ship. This tour was poorly run and the emphasis was clearly more on lining their own pockets than showing us highlights of the city. Very disappointed!!Written 28 November 2024

This is our third tour with this company because we love the service of Dahlia (GreyLine Tours inside Westin Hotel). She go the extra mile to give the service that we need as tourist. She helped us in so many ways like I left my credit card in one of the pharmacy and she helped me look for my card. She also helped me and my husband purchase a medicine since my husband got sick during the trip which she doesnt have to do. This is the kind of person that you want for your company. She loves her work and she does it with so much passion. Thank you Dali for all the help we really appreciate you.

We kind of weaseled out of the Mountain route but swapped it for the Taco Tour instead. It was AWESOME! These guys are just fun, patient and kind. And there were a few "special" guests who required some extra patience. This tour took us through the busy Malecon and to several stops to taste delicious local tacos. It was just the adventurous but not too difficult bike tour we needed. A++ all the way. Don't miss!

I have rented electric bikes in other cities around the world before. This was my most challenging ride ever. My friend and I started at the bike shop where we met our two tour guides and got our bikes and helmets. The bikes have fat tires so they can traverse rough terrain and sandy terrain. There was just the two of us riders and we had two guides. This is a very challenging ride and should not be taken lightly. I recommend you only do it if you are very very competent on a bicycle. I have ridden, bicycles, motorcycles, and ATVs, my entire life, and I needed all those experiences to handle this ride. You also need to be in decent shape. You will be paddling up the hills with the assist of the electric motor. The mountain hills are loose, winding and Steep in places. I I would absolutely not take children on this ride. And I would only take a teenager if he was experienced in mountain biking through difficult terrain. You will be riding on very rough cobblestones through the city. You cross very narrow, bridges and will ride close to some drop offs. Once you get to the mountains, the soil is loose, gravel and powdery dirt. The electric bike helps you get up the hills, but you still have to pedal hard to get up them. Your ride ends up at a bar in the mountains, which is a nice place to cool down an and get a drink. They have some river pools below that you can go check out if you feel like taking a hike. We were too tired from the bike ride up to check them out. The area is very pleasant but a little more expensive than in town. The road back is easier on the legs because you’re mostly you’re going down the hill. Just one big hill to climb. But the roads down ate loose gravel so you have to be very careful. Make sure your brakes work good before you leave the bike shop, you will need them coming down the mountain. If you go too fast you could crash or miss a turn. Someone out of control coming down the hill could severely injured themselves. Once you get back to town, you’re back on the rough cobblestones until you get to the Malecon. From here it is smooth sailing back to the bike shop. I told the guys they need to plan a 20 mile circuit through the city, avoiding cobblestones where possible. It would be less painful and a lot more fun. Our guides were very friendly and helpful. We were glad there were only two of us and that we had two guides. My friends battery died just before we got to the top of the mountain. One of the guides switched bicycles with him and took it back to the shop while we went to the top. I don’t regret doing this bike ride, It was definitely an adventure and got to see some beautiful parts of Puerto Vallarta we had not seen before. However my butt may be sore for a couple of days. 😁

What a great way to exercise and see an area you wouldn't get to see on foot. Loved the stop at top for drink and to dip in the pool.
