Great tour focused on the Guachimontones site
This was a perfect tour to the Guachimontones site. I was picked up from my hotel (which was not on the list of hotels in the booking) and we drove about 40 minutes to the site. Our tour guide, Ramon, was very knowledgeable of the site and gave us a good amount of time to see everything. Afterwards, we stopped in the town of Teuchitlan where we had time to walk around on our own and get lunch. Teuchitlan was an authentic town and the locals were really friendly. At the end of the tour, I was dropped off at my hotel. Overall, the trip was perfect in terms of the amount of time we had and the transportation was taken care of. I definitely recommend this trip if you are interested in learning about some of the other indigenous tribes that lived in the area.

        Great guided tour!
This is a first class experience with Hernán! The bus was comfortable and we were able to proceed at a leisurely pace.lots of walking but not too much. Really a great introduction to the Centro Historico and lovely Tlaquepaque. Highly recommended!

        Great service
Fantastic day trip. Ramon and Alejandro helped us to have an enjoyable and safe. Delivery the service they offer including picking us up and taking us back to hour hotel. The agave field visit was #1 in my list.

Great experience with Ramon and Tequila Selecto
This tour is just amazing. The explanation given by Ramon and then by the people at the distillery Selecto were great and in very good detail. They are much better than the tour that you can take at Cuervo.

        Enjoyable Experience!
The tour guide and driver were extremely patient & attentive. My 1st time to Guadalajara & I didn't speak the language, so even with all of my planning, I still had mishaps and wasn't able to eat. They waited for me to arrive & also did a quick OXXO stop for me to grab something quick. Our guide was engaging and personable throughout the tour. She was also very knowledgeable, and the structure of the tour was well thought out, allowing for pictures and questions (didn'tfeel rushed). So, any comments you read about needing improvement because the guide didn't do the entire tour... that's what you would call a private tour. She gave a wonderful presentation and clear directions to keep us on task. It was only 3 of us that day, but I'm sure larger crowds can be a challenge. All involved in explaining the process (in Spanish & English) were professional and attentive to any inquiries. I loved the opportunity to purchase the products we tasted & souvenirs and the great picture taking opportunities in the factories and around the town. I definitely recommend the tour... you'll enjoy it.

        Ancient Ruins in Jalisco
Wow, I had never heard of these ruins or the circulation that created them. This tour was eye opening. A fantastic museum/visitor center. A lot of information. You can’t climb on any of these mounds, but the views down to the lake are stunning. I recommend the visitor center first, to provide context to the ruins. Worth your time to check out the gift shop before leaving. A lot of great items created by the locals.

Take this tour ! Guachtimontones is magical!
Just the drive from Guadalajara to Guachtimontones was interesting, seeing parts of the city you’re likely not to see. Guachtimontones is quiet, you feel like you are making discoveries ! Our guide Fernanda explained the history well then the museum was amazing! Really good supplement to what we had just seen. The highlight was the “gift store”, a lovely man whose family had owned the property and has lived there his whole life. He has continued to discover artifacts himself for decades. And created and sells incredible pieces from obsidian and clay and lava from the very property! And lunch at a roadside stand that Fernanda recommended. Valentino, our driver, was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the roads and avoiding traffic. Double 5 Stars!!!

        Tequila was charming and delicious
We had a fun group of about 10 to the beautiful and charming town of Tequila. Our driver, Carlos was amazing and our guide was energetic and helpful with street food tips, but she struggled with English so we missed a lot about the agave farming and tequila distilling details.

        Disappointing
Sadly, not up to earlier reviews. Guide was not informative about history and had a miscommunication with driver that caused us to wait for an hour on a street corner. Van was lovely and pickup very efficient.

Have your “gaviota” moment at the first stop! If you know, you know! If you have time, go to Cantaritos El Güero on the last stop. Appreciated the hospitality and good vibes from the town .

The tour can use some improvement
This tour served more as a transportation service to tequila than as a tour guide of the city of tequila. We were picked up from our hotel and transported via a van to the meet up location, where we meet with the other tour takers. On the 30 minute drive to our first stop there was a brief overview (10 min) of the different kinds of tequila (silver, añejo, etc). We then stopped in a field of agaves where they walked us through the planting, caretaking and harvesting of the agaves. We were given about 10 minutes to take pictures and then we headed out to the next stop, a tequila distillery. They gave us a ~25 minute tour on how the distillery processes the agave to produce tequila. And then we were given a tasting of about 5-6 different tequilas. After the tasting we had some time (~20min) to walk around to purchase tequila produced there. We then headed of to the city of tequila where the tour guide dropped the tour group off in the city center and announced that she would meet with us again at the same location in about 1.5 hours. I feel like this would have been a great opportunity for the tour guide to walk us around and provide some historical facts or stories about the city of tequila however they left us on our own to walk around and to find a place for lunch. After we meet up again the tour guide walked us into the jose cuervo building and left us with the jose cuervo staff. We then parted again with the tour guide while the jose cuervo staff showed us around the interior of the building and met up with the tour guide after the jose cuervo staff had shown us around. Our tour guides then took us back to our hotels. I feel like the tour part of this TripAdvisor trip ended after the distillery tour and served more as a means of transportstion to tequila from guadalajara, since we were left on our own in the tequila city center. I do want to note that there are cheaper methods of transportation to tequila. To improve this tour service they should provide details about the rich history of tequila city while we are there and they should not rely on other tour guides to complete this experience.

A Good Way to Explore a Massive Artisan Market and Street Sculptures
With this group tour, by bus, we first visited selected sites of Guadalajara before heading to Tonalá. We ended up with a group from the US, pretty much everyone was a Spanish speaker, but the guide switched between Spanish and English to accommodate everyone. In Tonalá, the street with sculptures was interesting. The highlights of the tour have been well chosen, and the free time both in Tonalá and Tlaquepaque was useful. In Tonalá, we walked through the biggest artisan market I have ever seen anywhere in the world. In Tlaquepaque, we had our photo taken with a man holding a tequila glass and wearing a professional face paint from a western comic, showing facial expressions at the level of a professional actor—some of the best shots we had during our stay in Mexico! We had a lunch in a restaurant with a live female band, fantastic decorations, and the hottest chilli.

This was a nice tour. Our guide was very nice and full of information. Our first stop was at Vicente Fernandez’s ranch on the way to the lake. We were able to take a quick picture outside the gated home. Then we were able to walk around the main Chapala area with our guide. We also paid an additional fee to take a small fishing boat for a short cruise in the lake. We then had lunch on the lake in Ajijic. Lunch wasn’t included in the price but we enjoyed the food recommendation from our guide. Over all a good excursion. If you want time to shop around you may need to take a full day excursion because we didn’t really have time or maybe not do a boat ride.

Great time visiting Lake Chapala on our half day tour. Our tour guide Bernice was very knowledgeable and interested in history of the people and the architecture of the buildings that’s surround the lake. That made the tour that much better. She was well spoken and took the time to answer any of our questions
We enjoyed having lunch in the town of Chapala and walking through the quaint and relaxing streets of Ajijic. It was also very cool to be able to stop by and visit the ranch of the famous Mexican singer Vicente Fernández. I’ve been listening to his music since I was a kid.

My parents and I enjoyed the trip to Chapala and Ajijic. As we’re leaving Guadalajara, we had the opportunity to stop by Vicente Fernandez’s ranch. The ranch was closed at the time so we got to take a picture at the gates. On our way to Chapala, the tour guide answered all our questions about the area and taught us a bit about Chapala’s history. Once we got to Chapala, the tour guide let us walk around and shop at the boardwalk. There’s a lot of artworks that you can take pictures at and plenty of shops to take a look at. Next, we went to Ajijic where the tour guide brought us around town and taught us a bit about Ajijic’s history. Afterwards, we got to eat at a mariscos restaurant. The tour was a good opportunity to get some information about the areas we were visiting and safe transportation. The one thing that was misleading was that you don’t stop at Antigua Estacion De Ferrocarril.

Verinice was a charming guide. She answered all of our questions expertly. Gilberto was an amazing driver on the narrow streets of Ajijic. The personal attention and flexibility were great as well as the door to door transportation to Hotel Dalí.

I visited Lake Chapala & Ajijic on a Expedia Day Tour on Saturday December 29 2018.I was a bit disappointed that I was the only one that was going on The Tour that day as going with other people is always more fun but once I got there I felt the long drive was worth it.I felt that LC is almost like a combination of White Rock's Waterfront and the massive Lake Okanagan in B.C Canada. Both Ajijic and Lake Chapala maybe off the beaten path but i'm glad to have seen both places while staying in Guadalajara.

We recently took the Lake Chapala/Ajijic day tour and had a great time. Our guide, Antonio, arrived to pick us up wearing a broad smile and lots of enthusiasm. We drove to the lake where we ate breakfast at the town's excellent mercado. Throughout the day, we were able to learn about the area's history and cultural significance. Antonio made great recommendations about places to eat and shop. We definitely benefited from his local knowledge--we felt like we were touring with a good friend and not a sterile packaged tour.

This excursion included a visit to the ranch of Vincente Fernandez. Unfortunately there was only a Spanish speaking guide at the ranch. The driver/guide for the day was a pleasant man; however had both Spanish & English clients & the responsibility for driving so there was limited narrative & information. Lunch at Ajijic was very enjoyable.

This was a last minute trip, but I am glad we did it. We were picked up at our hotel in a mini bus. Just 8 of us. Visited the largest cowboy store in Mexico. Huge stock. A tequila factory, which was u fortunately all in Spanish, but we were able to go through the manufacturing process, see the storage barrels and taste about a dozen different tequilas. Then we drove to a restaurant close to Jocotopec right on the lake. Excellent seafood and a 15 minute boat trip thrown in. Wandered around the variety of stalls in Chapala and were picked up again for the trip home. A good day. Thank you
