    No ticket sent
Never got an actual ticket sent to me through viator. Email from viator says not actually a ticket. Got an email for an apple wallet that said ticket but museum didn’t accept that one with a bar code. Just ended up buying another ticket at the museum.

Perfect day to spend in/near CDMX!
It was the perfect day! The tour was well-paced with plenty of time to explore on our own. Our tour guide, Alicia, was very knowledgeable, helpful and even took some pictures for us.

    Unforgettable experience
Alicia the guide was so informative, interesting and described the history of ancient Mexico with such skill and imagination that I will retain all that she told us. Alexa took over the story telling at the pyramid and was also fun and entertaining. My son and I loved the day and felt energized enough after the tour to go out for a few mexcals!!

I was extremely happy to have Leonardo as our guide to the Anthropology museum and Chapultepec Castle. He was genuinely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Mexican history, and it seemed like he really loved his job. I was also grateful and impressed that Amigo Tours had someone waiting for us at the meeting point despite our unexpected late arrival 15 minutes past the meeting time. We hit bad Mexico City traffic and I was afraid we would miss the tour, but another team member kindly waited for us to arrive and then quickly connected us with the rest of the group. If you are thinking you dont need a guide for these museums, just keep in mind that most of the signage is in Spanish, and while you may still enjoy looking at all the artifacts, having a guide puts them into context and you will learn more. You could probably spend the entire day just at the anthropology museum, so if you really want to see everything at that museum I would not recommend this tour. But if you want to get the best highlights of both places, then this is a great tour to take. If you also end up visiting Teotihuacan, definitely visit the anthropology museum as well, since it will give you a glimpse of what civilization "looked" like in that area long ago.

We had the pleasure of having a guided tour with Gerson of the Chapultepec castle and the anthropology museum this past weekend. Not only was Gerson very informative, he was enthusiastic and very passionate. We had such a wonderful time learning about Mexican history from Gerson that it made the whole experience so enjoyable. Thank you for an amazing time! Highly recommend!

This was an excellent tour made so by our tour guide Edith. Because of the pandemic and government regulation it was like a private tour as only a maximum of 4 are permitted per guide. The weather was perfect as we started the tour with the castle The guides knowledge, anecdotes and sense of humour made it all the more pleasant. The most alluring aspects of the Chapultepec were the stunning murals which depicted the history of post Columbian Mexico and the lovely views of the city from the gardens. The anthropological museum too was absolutely superb. The depiction of Pre Columbian history through the beautiful artefacts was awe inspiring made more so by Edith’s simple yet detailed explanations. A must on any to do list of any trip to Mexico City

Castle is closed. They haven’t updated that. They still charge for that.

Also pick up information is completely incorrect, they say 8:50 at Estela de Luz and nobody shows up.

When you sent them a message they said 9:50a at the museum, as in they did not updated the info nor decreased the price.

Awful communication. They never answered my phone calls.

Avoid.

Alberto was our tour guide for the tour through the Anthropology Museum and Chapultepec Castle, and I highly recommend adding this tour to your itinerary! We spent about 4 hours in the anthropology museum and learned so much about Mexico's rich and amazing culture and history. The Teotihuacan room and Alberto's explanations of everything in that room even prompted us to book a tour to the Teotihuacan pyramids that we otherwise didn't plan to make time for. The view of Chapultepec Park and CDMX from Chapultepec Castle was stunning, but personally the castle wasn't nearly as interesting. I highly recommend the tour through the anthropology museum though!

Sad to say that I had a disappointing experience with Amigo tours.
I met the guides at the museum at the scheduled time. We realised that I had mistakenly booked and paid for a tour for the next day.
I asked if I could join the group of about 15 people if I paid an additional fee for museum entry, and paid the guide. A few people in the tour group told the guide that they were happy for me to join the group. The guide said that I couldn’t join their group, and was quite rude to me. The fault was mine, but I felt that I wasn’t dealt with in a particularly compassionate way. I am not sure what difference it would have made to have one extra person in the tour group in the museum.

Got lost trying to find the tour guide. Called 12 times with no answer till the 12th call. Had even a security guard call twice with no answer. Finally when they did answer they said the tour guide had already left with the group and since we were late all we could do is reschedule for a $17 a person fee. We asked just for the tickets and we could just walk the museum ourselves and they denied that. Save yourself the headache and just do the Castle & Museum yourself. They have translations on most of the art work any way!

Dear U6813DHchristiang, we are very sorry about your bad experience, nevertheless, the tour guide always gives a specific timeframe for looking around the museum and to not interfere with the schedule of the tour. Ivana, Amigo Tours

This tour began with a very clear and easy meeting point right in front of the museum. While you could spend multiple days exploring the Museum of Anthropology this tour was only able to cover the highlights of the vast history of the Mexican history. Since we only had four days in Mexico City this was a great option for us to get as much as possible in our limited time here. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and her English was quite good, although it did take a few minutes to understand a few words due to her accent. This was humorous for a couple words that the group all had a little fun with.

We were provided time to catch a quick bite for lunch (at your own expense) before continuing the tour. This provided a needed 30 minutes of rest and opportunity to get to know some of the other participants a bit better.

The Chapultepec Castle was very enjoyable although there is a good bit of walking involved and a slight grade to reach the Castle. Again, time constraints did require that we hit highlights only, but for a first visit, this was wonderful. The group was getting tired, and I personally was at my absorption limit for the day. The painted murals were the highlight for me. Amazing how much history can be portrayed in a single image. The tour guide was essential in explaining some of the imagery and the meanings behind them.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour, especially if you too have limited time in this wonderful city. As for us, we look forward to coming back and experiencing more of the history and opportunities this world class city has to offer.

My husband and I were very excited to see both the Museum of Anthropology and the Chapultepec Castle. We were not disappointed at all. Our tour guide, Edith, was excellent. She has a vast knowledge of the history of Mexico (she formally studied it) and of all the artifacts and displayed items in the museum. We truly appreciated the fact that she could answer all of our questions and was also funny, as well. We had a fairly small group (8-10), which was divided into two smaller groups. That made it easier to hear (through our masks), as well as to ask questions. We walked from the museum to the castle - it is a bit of walk, with some uphill areas; however, not difficult. The tour was one of the best, and the museum and castle should not be missed, if visiting CDMX. We would visit the museum again, for sure. I think the only thing we might do differently is to take a private tour. We did that today and thoroughly enjoyed that experience with Amigo Tours.

Our guide, Leonardo, was so knowledgeable about Mesoamerica, the indigenous cultures, artifacts, and the art work in the two museums. The sharing of his knowledge made the museum visits much more meaningful than it would have been on our own. If you plan to see the anthropology museum and castle of Chapultepec on the same day, I recommend bringing a sack lunch to eat on the 15-20 minute walk to the castle. There are vendors selling potato and plantain chips, nuts, fruit, and sugary snacks along the way. We were tired by the end of the five hour tour but glad to have had such an excellent guide.
